In a certain way, I envy you that you can be blown away by Victim of Changes for the first time. On the other hand, this never gets old, you want to keep coming back for more. And hearing this live? Oh sweet mother.
For me this album stand head and shoulders above every other Priest album. The songwriting is so good and the production was revolutionary. One of the albums that changed how metal music was recorded.
I'm not far from agreeing with you. But this track sounds like a mix between Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin and I have to say that this lack of personal style bothers me a bit 😊
@lawrencefine5020 No, I didn't. If we sat in car and I played this track and we hear completely different songs (different melodies, rhythms, durations, timbre, vocals, lyrics, etc), then sure music would subjective bit we can sing the same lyrics, hum the same melody, and groove to this same beat then music is objective.
priest started as blues band. halford was gifted, just sang in a unpopular genre. tulsa, early 90s at the pavillion/fairgrounds, indoors, floor vibrated. deafened for hours afterwards. great time. testament the megadeth opened. judson you fully understand being rode hard and put away wet.
"Great measures" STARTER PACK: * "So this band we're gonna do today, i dunno.....hmmm....they released this track, it says right here...lemme see. I dont know. 1992, 93... Something like that. So yeah...I dunno" *Song starts playing* Judson: *surprised look* with one headphone off *fiddles with the piano during every key moment* *Disinterested yawn* follows Post song reaction: "hmph" "So yeah..."
Someone’s hacked into our secret files! Now we’re exposed! Back to the drawing board…I know! Pictures…of…plates….of……food! Look out Elon! We’re right on your heels now!
When I got my Marshall head for the first time and took it over to my buddy's house and hooked it up to his Sun 4x12 speaker cabinet.... I just stood there and chugged a muted E minor for about 10 minutes. Pretty white.
"Rode hard and put away wet" refers to horses. Unlike a lot of animals, horses sweat, so if you have exercised one pretty hard, you need to let them cool off and brush the sweat out of their coat to keep them healthy. And of course, it lends itself to some double entendre
Since roundabout six years I've been refering to this album as my favourite album. In the last two years or so "Rainbow Rising" caught up with it but has yet to overtake it. Judas Priest are my favourite band since last year after being in the top 5 for more than a decade. My first album of theirs was Sin after Sin. When I saw them live they didn't play anything from Sad Wings but Saints in Hell which I never anticipated and Sinner, which was the first Priest song I heard.
Hey Richard where do you get your band merch from I want to build on my collection even more but I only been using indiemerch, nightshiftmerch, and hot topic and there some bands that they don’t have?
The shirt in this video came from here: gatecreeper.com/ I’m also a big fan of Metal Archives. If you click the “related links” tab under each band, it will show their merch sites if they have any. www.metal-archives.com/bands/gatecreeper/3540382449
Hey guys! Not sure about this one. Judson will probably like the music but will see. Please react to: 1. Mastodon - Jaguar God 2. Katatonia - Heart Set To Divide 3. Draconian - Sorrow Of Sophia Nice shirt Richard!!!
For comparison purposes, you guys should also react to the live version of Victim of Changes from Unleashed in the East (1979 album). It is way heavier and played / sung at a faster tempo. It sounds much more like a proper metal song. I think it would be interesting to react to both.
One of my top three JP albums. People think it's garbage or whatever, blah blah blah, nope. This album crushes and is the most Halford thing out there. I wouldn't call it metal per se, but music like this could definitely be described as proto-metal in that the themes are there which next generation bands would then use to create what we now call metal edit: youre referring to "sweet drunk chick from Winnipeg" and it's a very deep pull to be referencing that, nice one ruclips.net/video/2cPcRiLzdWk/видео.html
Ich weiß nicht, wer die songs auswählt ... wer der DJ ist? ... aber sie haben es absolut ins schwarze getroffen ... tolle wahl Große Grüße aus Deutschland 🍏🍎
"Rode hard and put away wet" comes from horse riding! Pushing a horse to its limits for miles and miles, hours and hours, and just locking it up in its stable instead of allowing to it to warm down and cool off can actually kill horses
Live...well you could compare this song to the: Unleashed in The East ..J.P. Live (1979) version back to back......yeah it's true, I like the chug too.
Rocka rolla first Judas priest album not metal but Hard rock. Sad wings of Destiny first metal album. One of prominent priest e metal music all time. The Tyrant , the Ripper , dreamer deciver, Genocide , epitaph...
It is what priest is about. People change, it's literally in the title of the song. It's not all Painkiller, and I wouldn't want it to be. It's too bad some people can't appreciate fine art when they encounter it.
I have always hated Judas Priest, and I don't like this much, but this is the most Led Zeppelin-like song I have ever heard from them, which I guess is something.
Ok it is time to do Judas Priest - Beyond the realms of death. For me it has maybe the best solo in metal, rock history. It is up there.
Glenn's solo is amazing; one of the absolute best, I agree! 💯
Yup.
In a certain way, I envy you that you can be blown away by Victim of Changes for the first time. On the other hand, this never gets old, you want to keep coming back for more. And hearing this live? Oh sweet mother.
Man, just look the art of this album. DAMN!!!
Classic metal masterpiece.
My favorite Judas Priest album by far.
For me this album stand head and shoulders above every other Priest album. The songwriting is so good and the production was revolutionary. One of the albums that changed how metal music was recorded.
Their best
In my humble opinion the greatest Heavy Metal song ever written.
I'm so glad music is subjective and never objective.
Excellent choice, Richard.
I'm not far from agreeing with you. But this track sounds like a mix between Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin and I have to say that this lack of personal style bothers me a bit 😊
Music has to be objective in order for us to hear the same song and descibe the same details of a track.
@@billybobthekidiswack You made my point. Thank you.

Still my favourite JP album. Thanks!
Painkiller!?!
@Moonchilddbk no doubt it's great. But SWoD is more preferable for me.
My first favorite metal album
This track proof how musical Heavy Metal is. Opera. Baroque. Medieval. Choral. It’s all there.
A beatyful piece Judson played there.
Thanks for this Priest....the best ...launched it all
Two of my fave songs in one video. Simple Man & Victim Of Changes. Boys, you've spoilt me here HAHA
Great!
Mercyful Fate the Oath next,please!
Blood Red Skies Blood Red Skies Blood Red Skies
This song to me is one of their best songs ever....love this album still to this day,,,,such a great album

I'm so glad Judson has a hoodie, he's been looking chilly lately at points 😉🤙
The studio album is ok...but the live concert video is alot better view/listen IMHO...1983 festival show in California I believe
The live solos of this song are crazy
yea the US Fest 83 version is just sooo perfect :D
I was minus theee years old when this came out. Those were the days. Good vibes on this one.
JUDAS FREAKING PRIEST 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Judson: “I’d order food like that” 😂
Palm Muted Chunkas is the "white sound" you were referring to.
This is the moment where metal really starts to leave the "obvious" blues doom of Black Sabbath
Harakiri For The Sky - You Are The Scars
Anomalie - Vision VII: One With The Soil
Iotunn - I Feel The Night
"Great measures" STARTER PACK:

Please! 🤘
Should’ve done the live from the east
This has a little Sabbath a little soul a little Skynerd

The "white" people guitar sound xD It is like "palm muting" but with the left hand, well, more like a finger muting.
Alestorm!!!!! Watch alestorm video pleaseeeee
Got to laugh at the description of what you think the song is about. 26.2 miles.😅😅
Day 15 of requesting Diablo Swing Orchestra.
Your guess play like charlie brown slow playing charile play fast like metal playing lol
Sound is too poor in this record overall. It is not what Priest is actually about. That is why you should do a live version.

Boring hard rock. Oh sorry: soft dance shit.
I know thats old, but what a boring mix
