After the August 2023 update, I wanted to go out, shoot a few videos in 4k and see if the over-heating issue of the Pixel 6a was as bad as ever! Also, in this video, I show you a very useful feature of the Pixel 6a which you must always use.

Just bought it a couple of weeks ago, it heated during the first 3-4 days but now it runs super cool! Not facing any heating issues in day to day usage. Mine is the global version though, from UK. I don't use the camera too much though, probably click 4-5 pictures a day max. But yes, I always use it on LTE, no 5g. I keep nfc, hotspot, bluetooth, location all turned off unless specifically needed

@@BobbyRoy I have no idea, maybe some hardware parts are different? Mine is running super cool as of now... Even while recording videos and clicking lots of photos. Consider myself lucky :D

You've been a really good reviewer unlike others for footage. I'm a big fan of Pixel. Waiting for 7A to come to lower at pricing.
Pixel 6a is a great phone but get the pixel 7a if you can spend 35k in BBD sale for an extra Android update.
If you need a great display and 3x lens, get S21Fe.
I bought it few days ago from Flipkart of 25500 INR. Started overheating with cameras on especially with 5G. Easily hits 45/46°C. Now sent it to Google for diagnosis.. lets see if they fix it.
I feel most phones r heating because of 5g
I bought redmi note 12 pro and it is heating everytime i use 5g. Its always around 40 degrees. If i use Hotspot then it reaches 43-45. Gaming is impossible without AC.

I got it on 6th sep ..At a normal room temperature of 25-27 degree It is getting warm and sometimes overheating...My data hotspot is switched on as I work from home...and Battery is draining very fast on hotspot...In normal usage SOT is 6-8 hours...but on hotspot it is just 4-4.5 hours only....Any suggestions?

It's normal for this there is no way to solve this and In my case the support was very very extremely poor
But the pixel software and camera is definitely good but they need to focus on the battery and heating issue

How was your experience? I want to buy it for casual usage and also mostly use mobile data, so will I have good experience with it or it will give me problems?
Even i feel the overheating issue is a major issue in my pixel 6a. This is the first time that i feel like changing a phone within a year that's how disappointed i am.

Hello Amit, thanks for the comment and support. Network connectivity hasn't been too good, really, to something like a Samsung device, for example. Wifi/ 5G has been perfectly fine though.
Heating though, is a definitive issue. Been a year but still after all the updates, the heating issue still persists. That is one of the major reasons I'm looking for a change from the 6a.

The Pixel 7a definitely is a better device than the 6a, overall. However, since that also has the Tensor chip, I am not 100% sure if it will hold onto regular 4k video shooting or general usage outside in this summer possible. Have you considered something like the S21 FE?
@@BobbyRoy Well i was looking for that pixel experience so I really didn't consider buying a Samsung.. my main priority wouldn't be the camera it would be a great software experience and decent performance... I will surely check s21 fe thanks for the recommendation!
The only prob with tensor chip is that it heats up on heavy usage...and as soon as it heats the phone goes crazy at certain areas.
So if u need clean interface consider something moto edge 40 . I can bet u you won't regret it's interface (M assuming camera isn't the top of ur priority)

All in all it’s not a good phone. I purchased it kept for 6 months & sold for 18k. Processor is the worst part it heats up even while normal usage. The call reception quality is also not that good. About camera not that extraordinary although better than every other android phone in the segment. It was my first pixel experience and I must say it was really below par.
Pixel should use snapdragon processor this tensor chip(modified exynox) is the worst thing.

Hello Swati, the 6a is a sturdy mobile and ofcourse, I'd suggest you put a nice, sturdy cover on any mobile phone that you use.
On the side note, I'd suggest you to be mentally ready for the fact that the 6a does heat up in its current state (quite a lot) and the battery life isn't the best. However, Android 14 is supposed to be released today, which is a major update and I hope to see reduced heating and a better battery life with it. 🤗❤️

Hello there, so, your usage must be something like me. To answer your query, the 6a WILL get hot while shooting photos & videos, and it also becomes extremely hot at times, which affects the overall battery life & the performance of the phone. Aleo, it means, you'd need to keep a power bank with you all the while.
The video quality of the 6a is medicore, frankly. If you're okay with these flaws, then, go for the 6a because it provides you with THE best and stock Android experience. If not, then, do look at the S20 FE from Samsung.

Hello Soumya, in simple words, I feel Samsung has a better modem (for internet, 4G/5G) and better network connectivity than the Pixel devices, overall.

If you use it normally with continuous data on it can go 20 hours plus
But major problem is that it has only 18W max.😢 charging input and it takes nearly 2 hours to charge

5G connectivity is still way behind 4G's connectivity, from what I've been experiencing off late. It isn't a hardware/ device issue.

Hello ji, battery backup thoda sa tricky hai, sahi bataaun toh. Main kaafi heavy user hoon, aur mujhe din mein 2 baar battery ko charge karna padta hai. That is a little downside of the 6a, apart from the heating issue. Baaki badhiya phone hai, and BBD mein Pixel 7a ke prices pe bhi nazar rakhiyega, badhiya deal aayegi uspe bhi, I am sure.

@@renjithrenju8088 it's just normal as days passes the phone automatically suits the environment and neither heats as it will heat when started first time and used few days it will become normal

Hello there, is the 5G option switched ON in the network settings? The Pixel 6a does get hot, especially if we use its cameras or if used outside under hot temperature.
I think, this is how the hardware is and has been since day 1 that I bought my Pixel 6a.

Hello there, from your comment, I can sense that video and cinematography is your primary requirement. Hence, I would strongly recommend you look at other devices since, frankly speaking, the 6a or any Pixel device isn't really suitable for video creation.

Yes it's best camera phone than all phones under 30k and about heat it will heat for first few days and after routine use it will not hear just get the charging optimisation feature on in settings
you should go for the Samsung S23 series this time I am a user of the S22, and I bet that S series camera are dam good

Hello Harsh, if you take a lot of photos & videos, then, I'd suggest you either be mentally absolutely ready that the 6a will get hot, or you can also look at phone like Samsung S21 FE. Superb device!

Same experience... Disabled diagnostics, tracking, wifi bt scanning, set network to LTE. And now it does not heat up at all!
