As a Cast Member who's one of the 28,000 of the laid-off, THANK YOU for this video!
This was an absolutely AMAZING & BEAUTIFUL tribute!
Thank you. I will not lie - my heart is broken right now because I really loved working at Disney. This year has been very hard. I went from having my favorite job ever and making magic to feeling completely insignificant. This is such a nice tribute - thank you.
Crying so much after seeing this.
Thank you every Cast Member past and present for helping make so many beautiful memories for me and my family all of you are so amazing and I really do thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
As a frequent DL/DCA visitor, please know that to us, CMs ARE the magic...know that we miss you all...we hope that you are safe & healthy...we hope, née know, that your magic will remain with us always...THANK YOU ❤️🙏❤️🙏
Who would thumbs down this?? Thank you, whoever made this video. I went to the parks last week for the last time as a cast member to see them one more time. Hopefully we'll be able to come back soon.
This was a beautiful tribute to the magical family of cast members of whom my daughter is still an active member. Walt would have found a way to keep everyone on board. I wish all of you a brighter future.
As someone waiting, praying for the day I get to clock back in, I haven't felt this much CM love since the last day I clocked out. I have struggled with knowing my purpose in this life, but in this past year of being separated from a job I truly loved, I can safely say I want nothing more. I'm desperate to see Mickey say "See you real soon!" knowing that it won't mean separation again. The pain is as deep today as it was almost a year ago. I appreciate this video more than you could ever know. Thank you so much. ❤
As a past cm for 11 years, 2009 to 2020, I worked at mansion, pirates, boats, fantasmic show driver, disneyland security..thank you for this. I was fortunate enough to find the love of my life, made friendships with other casts and guests. I would never give that up.
😔
I was so proud to be a magic maker. I loved what I did. I still get sad knowing that my costumes sit in my closet and very soon they will be turned in along with my Blue ID. I remember when I got my Letter of Separation. I was in the break room trying to comprehend what had just happened to me. I went back on stage and that’s when it hit me. I started crying and went to the back room to compose myself. I remember my last day at work and clocking out for the last time, crying and hugging coworkers back stage and holding one another as we walked out of the resort. It was the feeling of defeat. That there was nothing we could do. We didn’t do anything wrong but by the decisions made above us, we were just let go. This video captures the hearts of all of us cast members. That we believe in the magic and we want to make that magic for our guests. Thank you to whoever made this video. There are a lot of us that are still struggling with our broken hearts.
You reminded me why I was so proud to be a cast member, even though I left 36 years ago. Better times will come.
I'm so glad I got out of there when I did. I feel bad for the cast members who were laid off, but I will never feel bad for the company. I left back in 2018 for better options, and thanks to my current job, I have still have a way better paycheck coming in. Im sorry, but not sorry at the same time. To the cast members, you are what makes the parks function, but you are truly under appreciated, and that is why I left. A company that decides not to keep the higher ups on minimal pay, while fully paying their employees, is not worth working, or slaving away for.
No need to be a dick now. I don't disagree that the move made by senior leadership on the pay was handled well, but they are people as well. They had every intention of reopening DLR at the time thinking we had a governor that made decisions based on legit science. When in reality it is the unions in this state that are influencing Newsom's actions. Thus we sit here with these parks still closed. This was a beautiful open letter from a Disney fan to former and current Disney CM's. You didn't need to come on here to use this nice video to push your whining about the company. Apparently you are a disgruntled ex-CM. Just leave it there and move on.
Beautifully done, and as one of the 28K, thank you for this. It means the world.
i cant watch this. its too much! so beautiful. thank you for doing this.
Such a beautiful video. So many of my friends were let go. I was fortunate enough to remain even if it is in a different role than the one I was there originally for. I will continue to honor those castmembers and friends, that were not so lucky, by continuing to make magic for all our guests that I come in contact with.
Thank you for this❤️😢❤️ I took such pride in being a Cast Member...it is so much more than a job. Until I can return again🥰
As a cast member that has been let go, THANK YOU !!! You have captured so much of what we do. This moved me in ways I didn’t imagine. I will make magic again someday. Thank you, again, this is why we do what we do!
This is absolutely beautiful!! Thank you to each and every Cast Member! You are the Magic ✨✨
Just found this and I´m in tears IT IS BEYOOOOOND BEAUTIFUL
I’m not crying, you’re crying! 🥺 thank you for this, it’s amazing. 💚🧡💙
We all are
Thanks! I’m still currently with the company & was even lucky enough to return to work for the reopening of Buena Vista Street as part of Downtown Disney.
I did see a former cast member near the end that I knew!
I cried during the entire thing. Thank you. Time to send it to my fellow CMs
Good lord. This hit deep. I grew up with Disney and I loved the parks... and the worst is knowing that due to Covid and outside influences on the industry, that this truly was the end of the Disney I knew... and that so many children will be denied that experience.
Whenever our family went to the parks, it was the cast members who made the difference. A loud cheer for them, with a wish for only good things in their future. (And a big BOO to the Disney execs who treat the company as only their personal ATM now).
As a cm that was laid off I thank you for this💕💕💕💕💕💕 it really means a lot 🥲
Love this video so much. Thank you. ♥
Wow! That was so beautiful and powerful. Thank you for creating this and honoring all cast members. You are all awesome!!
I'm an overnight disneyland cast member for 6 years that was laid off as of today....this video is amazing thank you....words can't express the pain in my heart...
1/28000. You made me tear up. I loved everyday I worked at Disney, even through the toughest days. This was more than a job, this was a second home, my fellow CMs were a second family. All my worries from school and home evaporated here. Untill I return again. I promise to return.
From a CM from Disney's Animal Kingdom.
I'm not crying, YOU ARE! *disgusting sobbing*
You are very dedicated cast members and were loved! we are all lost our Disney family.
I have a new job now. To help keep the spark alive until all those we've lost, can come back to us some day.

Just what we needed....🥲❤️

The way that I just cried!!! 🥺💕🥺💕💕💕😍
Thank you🥺
Look at that beautifully edited video 😍💕👏
I can’t stop crying.
Make this go viral!
All the feels. Beautiful tribute.
Can you make lyrics
Thank-you, very sweet. But...I’m one of the few that feel blessed to be let go. I found an excellent job and I’m not just a number anymore. The merch managers were awfully, just awful. Thank you Disney for paying me to leave!!
There are no words..........
Sadly, it seems that security cast members are left out of these. Don't get me wrong, it's a great video, but it makes me feel more like a necessary evil, and less of a family member. Nevertheless, well done. 😁
All of the still images used in the video came from Cast Member submissions. That said, some preferred to send photos outside of their costume for personal reasons, so while it may not be patently obviously, I can concretely say there are security cast members present within the video.
While I’m not sure we were 100% successful, our primary goal when creating this tribute was the ensure all lines of business were featured in one form or another. Not just the usual “flashy” ones like Attractions or Performing Arts (and this is coming from an Attractions CM). The parks are successful because of the wide variety of people they employ, and each role is equally vital. Something that tends to often be overlooked,
Whew, sure is dusty in here...
Beautiful
