Yay! I've been waiting for a species spotlight on these guys. I've had a small school for about a month after trying for a month to get them ordered into my local fish store. I love them so much. They're so fun and enjoyable. Thanks for introducing me to these great little fish!
I just love your hillstream tank. I'm slowly working on one of my own. So far it's just white cloud and zebra danios in the 30 gal until I get the 55 up and running. Even found a local breeder of hillstream loaches 😊
Beautiful tank and great video. So many videos are just heads talking, but thanks for showing your amazing tank and fish! Great detailed information on the fish themselves.
These are stunning, I really love Danio's i have regular ones and giant ones in my tanks they are great dither fish for more timid fish. The Giant version are real pigs they will eat absolutely every thing you put in your tank, It's so funny watching them chasing each other when one has a piece of shrimp wafer in its mouth as it chew, spit, chew juggles it whilst the others chase it around trying to grab it when it gets loose.
Awesome little fish. I still have my Choprae Danio I got from you over a year ago. You will hit 100,000 in a few days, so early congratulations. With you as long as you continue. Thanks.
It means there are a lot of people that tune in for your information and educational content. You are not a performer. To reach 100,000 in that capacity is quite an accomplishment I'd say. I just started vids this spring with tubing. I don't even have 200 subs yet. But it will grow with decent content. If you get bored, haha, ck out my my recent vid of my Rainbows. Love ya.
What are you doing with your primitive tank when you upgrade? I think a tank of green terrors, oscars, jack Dempsey’s, creamsicle cichlids, and flowerhorns would be cool
I loved this video. I really wish to make a hillstream tank in future. I love the celestial pearls too. These reminded me of cpd. These are hard to find in India.
Do you ever breed and sell these? Your hillstream tank is amazing and inspired me to set up my own. It’s only a 29 gallon but these guys would be a great start to the tank. I checked your stocking list and didn’t see them, but if there are some in your future I would be willing to wait for them.
Can I please request a fish profile video on a Bolivian Rams if you hv kept them. May be include info like how to sex them and some tank mates etc. Thanks.
Hey rachel.....great video!!! I really enjoy when you do species profiles, I have only been into the hobby about a year and a half when my 7 year old wanted some fish....now we are up to 14 tanks from a few 10's up to 40 breeders and 2 75's in the garage waiting for some space....what is the temp in your hillstream tank and lastly what would you say is the lowest you would go for white cloud minnows and gold white clouds? Thanks again for all your knowledge
I keep it at ambient which 8n that part of my fishroom is about 70 in winter and up to 74ish in summer. The turnover rate and oxygenation is key and is at about 20x per hour. White clouds can take things quite chilly but thrive in low 70s
I have some and they are great! New fry are growing fast. Have a bluish tint at times. Found mine with the striped danios somehow in the same batches from PetSmart. I would love to acquire more. Any ideas where I may find some? Please and thank you.
Thanks for this profile. I love these fish! I have a school of 12 kyathit danios in a 29 gallon planted tank. Do you recommend cycling the “flow” of the power head? Or would you leave it running 24/7?
danios in particular tend to scatter and be less outgoing in smaller numbers. If you have a decent sized group of them, they become almost fearless. When I had less in this tank, they hid except during feeding time. By increasing the school, they are all over the place and always visible.

Oh! they are pretty fish. I have 3 zebra danio, & the Pet Supplies Fish Section sold me what they call long finned danios. Pretty fish. The male is bluish grey, tinted blue fins and the female is heavily bodied and pretty. She is spotted like a leopard. All 5 are extremely playful and fun to watch. Did you breed any of this species outside this summer?
Leopoldi Angelfish... Its not a fish that you deal with I know ... But the scarcity of info on the internet forced me to approach you... Its a first personal request... Thanks take care....

Are these what I read called the Fire Ring Danio? They are so pretty!
I really love the hillstream tank and any video that involves it! I’d love to see you do a video on setting up a smaller hillstream tank.
We need to get this woman 2,620 more subs! she deserves it! Share this bad boy!
haha, so close i can almost taste it!
@@RachelOLeary Thanks for all you have done for the hobby!
Heh, that white cloud fluttering around in the background is adorable.
Thanks for featuring these -- they're quite pretty. The orange tinge to their tails is striking.
I love watching them play in the flow with the Shiners and when they're eating theonip,, their orange really is striking.

Neat little fish. Thanks Rachel.
I’m glad I don’t have to get that workout every time I want to eat. Such a gorgeous danio.
Orange is my favorite color too! Always go towards orange fish haha. I have orange rice fish and they’re my favorites!
How cute! They remind me of the halloween candy, peanut butter in stripped little plastic wrapper..cant remember the name.
Sounds like a Celestial Pearl Danio relative. Beautiful..

Very pretty fish. I like the flow in that tank as well.
What a great little fish will have to keep that one at the back of my mind.
Yay! That was my favorite fish the last time you posted this tank! Very pretty!
These are some of my favorites too!!
Daaaaang!! These are georgous fish!! 💗
What a beauty of a fish!
wowee the reminds me of a danio + killifish mix!

probably a few weeks yet, i am very excited about it even though it doesn't really MEAN anything!

Awesome 🤩 Thanks for sharing Rachel 🤗
I just love the Hillstream Tank :D
Thanks for the quick response! P.s. I love my fish pimp knuckle hoody....thanks again Rachel
They are so beautiful :O)
Thanks for sharing. I've had my eye on these for a while. I might want to give them a whirl next tub season.
they did awesome in the tubs!
Lovely fish. Thanks for sharing.
Great video as always, keep up the good work
They look like celestial danios
They would look awesome with a school of whiteclouds in a naturally scaped tank.
What are you doing with your primitive tank when you upgrade? I think a tank of green terrors, oscars, jack Dempsey’s, creamsicle cichlids, and flowerhorns would be cool
Beautiful fishes rachel!!

Gosh i love those😍
Would you ever consider a tutorial on setting up a smaller "hillstream" type aquarium? say around 40-55 gallons?
Absolutely, I plan to!
Stunning fish! I have a large shoal of white clouds. If I introduced some of these can they cross breed? Thanks
Nope. Not at all
Beautiful fish
Do these little fish do good with Neon Tetras? I love your videos, thank you
cool species! thanks for the video as always
Love them.
Thats cool fish thanks for sharing

Nice spot light 😁
What type of food are they eating? I NEED to watch my fish eat like that. Also, orange is my favorite color too.

Can you do a video on pearl danio I thought you did but it seems to be a different fish
I keep the long fin. And they are
Good looking fish next to zebra. Long fin

Thanks for this profile. I love these fish! I have a school of 12 kyathit danios in a 29 gallon planted tank. Do you recommend cycling the “flow” of the power head? Or would you leave it running 24/7?
I leave it going always, but do provide quieter areas in the aquarium
Thank you!
Have you ever tried keeping vampire crabs?
What are the things you put on the aide of the tank
Hi Rachel. Would 7.7 Ph be a problem with these guys?
Bellos.
What is the reason behind keeping them in groups of 8 or more? Will it stress them out to keep them with fewer?
danios in particular tend to scatter and be less outgoing in smaller numbers. If you have a decent sized group of them, they become almost fearless. When I had less in this tank, they hid except during feeding time. By increasing the school, they are all over the place and always visible.
@@RachelOLeary thanks for the speedy reply! I'll remember that when I'm ready to buy. I bet this is the case for most schooling fish.
yes, it absolutely is. I find, in general, that more of few species rather than a few of a lot is a much more rewarding tank for seeing great behavior
Can they breed with zebra fish and create hybrids ? I have a pair of the zebra ones .
I am not entirely sure. they are a very close clade of fish, so it may be possible though I would think it to be unlikely unless forced
