    If you retire on a regular FERS retirement and file for SSDI will your FERS Pension be affected?

    • @DisabilityRetirement
      @DisabilityRetirement  8 месяцев назад

      Once you’ve reached full retirement age, you are no longer eligible to file for SSDI benefits. You could, however, receive early retirement and SSDI, or Federal Disability Retirement and SSDI. If you have already retired, you would be able to receive regular social security retirement at age 62.

      @@DisabilityRetirement I reached my FERS retirement at 58 and 6 months I am not eligible for Social Security until 62. If I apply and receive SSDI would my Regular FERS Pension be impacted? I don't think I was clear, I apologize.

    Does a social security payment offset (OPM) include any payments for dependents? For example if I was getting 1600 for social security disability and my child was getting 800, would the offset for OPM purposed calculation entail 1600 or 2400?

    • @DisabilityRetirement
      @DisabilityRetirement  Год назад

      The offset would only be for your SSD, not your child's SSD or combined SSD!

    What about you’re on Disability Retirement Involuntary Removal how and is my craft what I would’ve been making given to me as my high 3

    • @DisabilityRetirement
      @DisabilityRetirement  6 месяцев назад

      Your high 3 is the average of your highest consecutive salary over three years, not what you potentially could have been making. If you have been removed due to your medical condition, this could benefit a Federal Disability Retirement application. Give our office a call at 877-226-2723 so we can learn more.

    SSDI would affect schedule awards?

    • @DisabilityRetirement
      @DisabilityRetirement  3 месяца назад

      Social Security Disability may offset up to 80% of any schedule award. It may be more beneficial to wait until social security retirement to apply for a schedule award.

    I’m on owcp and have been on owcp since 2019
    Where do I start and file for disability do I start with SSDI OR federal disability retirement?

    • @DisabilityRetirement
      @DisabilityRetirement  Год назад

      You must apply for SSDI in order to be approved for Federal Disability Retirement, so the SSDI application will be first. You can give our office a call to learn more about the application process and how we can help you through it at 877-226-2723!
