Walnut cigar ashtray. The slab of wood was from Stillwater, Minnesota. Question of the video... What is your favorite cigar? Leave a comment down below.
Just made mine. Simple square piece made of oak. Used ting oil. So far holding up just fine. Slight burnt on the groove that holds the cigar. Thanks for the video. It helped me out.
Nice video. I’ve been looking fir ideas on a simple ashtray. So far my favorite cigars have to be Oliva Master Blends 3 or Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Year of the Rat.
Four kicks mule kick and Tennessee waltz both by crowned heads out of Nashville TN. Both are limited runs every year. Killer smokes if you run across em.
Currently working on an ashtray similar to this made of curly maple- this looks really nice! If you can find them, the Arturo Fuente Opus X Oscuro Oro line is absolutely mind blowing. Don’t spend more than $18-20 on it though, even that much of a luxury cigar isn’t worth the $30-50 some retailers are gouging them out for
Very cool man. I hope to create something similar. I really enjoyed a Perdomo Champagne 10th anniversary the other night. It's mild, but if that works for you it's very nice.
Like the project especially since I have the tools to make this other projects use table saws and band saws .Dumb question but does tung oil protect the wood from the ashes?
I got a great starter kit at Rockler. It has been a great set so far. Here is a link www.rockler.com/woodcarving-by-numbers-12-pc-chisel-set-with-instructional-dvd.
Nice job, I think I'm gonna make a couple for me and my buddies. Right now I really like the La Gloria Cubana Serie N. It's a medium body that's dark and smooth.
Thanks for the walk through. Gonna make something similar but instead of a cigar channel im going to have a pipe stand.
You are welcome!!! Glad the video was helpful for you. Post a pic of your finish pipe tray on my Facebook or Instagram page.

Just made a black walnut ash tray. Olivia Melanio is a cigar aficionados #1 stick. Padron is my go to stick.
Keep up the vids man!
Nice work. I like the live edge and the texture- as a wood turner, texture is usually something I have to add, not remove :)
Thank you!!! I was worried about losing it all in the planer.
Cool ashtray man, I love a Partagas D4. Sweet smokes man!
Thank you
Hey man!! Great video!! And great to meet you today!!! I’m a fan of a CAO Americana or maybe my pipe!! Keep it up brother!!!

Nice job! When I saw the beard I automatically knew you know what you’re doing. Try an Amazon Basin from CAO.
Thank you and I will need to pick that stick for the weekend.

Anything Drew Estates is a win!!!

What is that tool called
I'm new to the game, I like nub.
Pardon 80th in a Maduro. Its expensive but holy shit is it worth the price.

Isla del sol grand corona maduro
What was total time to make this from start to finish?
From start to finish was about 2 hours. Very good project to do on a Saturday morning with a good cigar and cup of coffee.
