I was a Benz tech for years. Total respect for your diagnostic routine.
I’ve replaced plenty of those ignition switches, and they aren’t cheap. Also a dealer-only part, and I’m pretty sure only a dealer can install and program it (at least that how it was when I worked there).
On top of all of that, the secondary air pump sounds like it’s about to quit too. Poor ML.
Also, some advice: those were really bad for wearing out the timing gear on the balance shaft. If you put a used engine in it, it’s probably best to install the updated balance shaft.
Mann ❤️ you just dropping gems on me like that all great info that I need to make this thing a success. i really really do appreciate your time no advice, especially on the ignition switch because I know something is up with that as well. Thanks again for the great tips
Bwoy! That was a full class... lunch time now. "It..it...it..It mash up fi true" that's where I had a good laugh. Wasn't expecting that timing chain to be peeking out through the oil cap.... prolly looking for a way out. Lol
Lol glad u like it
Your a good teacher….
Thank you for watching
🫡🫡🫡👍👍👍🤘🤘❤️❤️❤️
Yh bro this one have no steeringlock so you hear a sound when you inserted the key ....it only have gateway....great video man respect
Thanks for the info
I love my w163, easy to work with. Great content brother!
Thank you
Like watching a Doctor at work. Most Excellent
balance shaft teeth broke super common on 2006 ML 350 massive job have fun as for the ignition probably bad EIS that’s separate issue.
Yes rasta them video yah we a talk bout nice informative and entertaining and good likkle duration
Give Thanks
Good diagnostics steps, but that timing chain in the oil cap 😱. What’s the likehood of seeing something like that 😅
I didn't know what you were talking about until he opened the oil cap. 🥴 Like I didn't think it was possible.
Usually if not the chain you can see the camshaft to see if it's moving
I were supposed to rebuild tht one bro so tht it will be more fun but from the start hearing the way engine was cranking it shows the was no compression it cranks abit fast thn Normal
its too expensive
"Oh Lawd, it mash up fi true!" 😂
Reminds me of my MK6 GTI with that crappy tensioner issue.
Great content, so easy to understand and see what your talking about, 😁😁😁😁😁
Thx
Jah know Rasta all this time me watching you I just found out we in the same city VB strong affi link up 1 a these days blessings 🙌
Good works! Positive vibrations, yah.
Beginning you say customer was told broken timing chain by other shop. Customer did not trust other shop. Other shop was right, right? You saw when you opened oil cap. Then customer mad because pay twice for same figuring out.
Positive vibrations continue for this Mercedes. Customer always pay at least twice on Mercedes. Good customer. : )
Yess sometimes
Please more videos like this I personally am really trying to her a god head for drivability loved this video
You can email me at rastamanbuilds gee mail
Smashing it 💪
U are genius boss
working hard
Engine went bad then the customer broke the eis trying to turn it back on😂 good diag Rastaman
😂
Another great video
I appreciate you
If the coil separates from boot on the spark plug during removal. Use air gun and blow compressed air into top of boot stuck on plug, usually pops off without damaging boot
Wow 😂 thank you for the tip you are a winner
That ignition switch had the same issue, the battery in the key was weak/dead, once I changed it I was good
Respect
Blessings fada...we need a follow up pon da one yah
Pull out old engine and replace it. I posted in TikTok and IG I will post here
No worries now with the ignition switch lol Bomba clock junk lol having the same problem but ignition switch is good but scan tool coming up as cam shaft sensor alot of them
Those camshaft sensors could mean timing chain stretch
@@RastamanBuilds yeah I think the same thing cause when I try to start it it turns over but am hearing a weird noise coming from the chain car has 136k so I put the scanner on and it gave me a hole bunch of cam codes and cylinders mis fire too and some catyist converters codes yeah I work at a shop the first thing I did was check the oil level and man when I took the dip stick out it looked like they stuck it in dirt and put the stick back in not a drop of oil and yeah the owner is a woman they sure don't take care of cars but yeah I think the timing is shot because they ran that car without a drop of oil god no how long but yeah thank you for your video good stuff man
You should be able to do a compressor test thru your diag tool
Mi feel like Rasta did already diagnose the issue well before and then just add some additional steps enuh 😅… Cuz him always check oil and thing fuss
I was talking to the phone telling you there is a clip behind the air filter box
Lok hahahaha I didn’t hear you. The volume was way down lol thanks though
The ML 430 and ML 500 don’t have the timing chain issue right ? The M113 engine single overhead cam.
I am not certain
👍🏻
respect
From mi listin to the engin I heard that there was no comparison
I certainly don't have any of the tools for this diagnostic
Hi, where are you located please?
VA beach
Owner could not get it go so its slack I saw the lose fit ,number two running scratchy in da engine. Because owner run it low on oil😬
If first mechanic said it was the timing chain why didn't you check the timing chain first
It's the imperfect in me. I am a work in progress
Still better to do a diagnostic routine than work with Simon says alone...
Damn!
why not just redo the timing? why do mechanics not do these things anymore? why do they just change engines now. some people dont want to change they engines
The valves are bent because the timing is off. Would you pay me more to fix it than to replace it.
@@RastamanBuilds ahhhh ok that makes sense. thanks appreciate the videos
Would’ve never guessed the chain if you didn’t look😂
Nope. its when i got zero compression plus the cam sensor codes no signal. i was hoping I could see the cams if i opened the cap
Did you put a new engine in it?
What if u used a scope on the injector wouldn't you get a pulse???
Yes it would
@@RastamanBuilds love d work man 😎
Does the motor turn by hand?
Yes. I. Am able to crank it
Why does it need a new engine? Can you just repair the valves and pistons?
Yes it can be repaired but the cost is greater to repair than to replace. Customer choose to replace
It mash u fi true….😅
Lol I was hoping for the best
First time learning these have two air filters. WTF
light a matches and drop it in the gas tank. problem solve
Lol
Broken timing chain
It movedd
😂 I almost gave up on ya
😂😂😂
