I'm not sure what I'm thinking of, but this reminds me of a character in a kids movie I watched at some point, with a realm overflowing with all manner of random things and some sort of magical being there to catalogue those things and get visitors what they needed.
now I'm imagining domains of dread genasi. turn to myst to pull people into a bottle demiplane realm, where the realm responds to the genasi like the evironment changes around dragoon lairs and unicorns. inhabitants of the demiplane can only leave when the genasi themselves has left or expels them, or they can remain especially if their wishes are tempting them to remain.
Demiplane genasi might just naturally have bag of holding to portable hole abilities attached to their person, or at the upper end be like the spiderman villian the Spot. demiplane genies are just Trek Holodecks in d&d. lol. maybe with a bottle as the portable entrance.
While thats great, imagine you create a magnificent mansion and a mansion genie just is already chilling there with their feet up on the coffee table. Would they technically be your "child" Could one spring into existence because of your own magical shenanigans. And what about a player creating an elemental.
Would a race given elemental power/appearance later in life rather than born that way be different from genasi? Not in an accident or exposure, like actually gifted the ability.
Material Plane Genasi could be a Primal Genasi; essentially the Avatar of elemental people: a mix of all four elements. As for a Flux Genasi, that… may just be like a demigod of… I think it was Ao, the overgod of creation itself. I get Io and Ao confused. One is a true neutral dragon god, one is a true neutral god period that resides over all creation.

I genie getting bag is cool
Could the Bagman potentially be a Genasi from the space between?

What would a Material Plane Genasi look like? Would they just be human? And what about a Flux Genasi as an embodiment of every plane?
