  • Heyo again! Please let me know what you think of the video, whether it be lore/ worldbuilding related, critiques/ advice/ feedback on the video format or just general responses. Would love to hear from you and improve how engaging or likable this content is. Also I've been trying to condense a lot of this material so that you're not sitting through hour long lore dumps etc but if this is something you're interested in, again let me know.
    P.s. still very new to the whole digital art/tablet set up so apologies for how shitty the drawing is. But there is only one way to improve.
    All art, music and video editing was done by myself.

    Awesome job! The art looks great and I love that you're developing a whole language. I think the layout and structure of the video is also very clear in describing the various desert factions. Great job!

      Thanks Matt! That means a lot coming from someone so far along their own artistic and creative journey. I appreciate the support 🤟

    Just found your channel, but this is great! I really love how distinct the magic for each tribe appears and how for each tribe's magic there are multiple uses. It's exciting to think of all the ways that characters might be able to creatively use these different abilities in certain situations. Your art style also tells so much about this world; I feel like there's a legitimate grittiness and depth to everything (assuming that's the intended effect), and it's so refreshing to see someone make their art by hand instead of using generative AI (especially in worldbuilding videos; it's everywhere!). Keep up the great work!

      Thank you very much for engaging! It’s really appreciative to hear that the other people also think about stuff like the different uses or situations for the magic. I find that part of worldbuilding so fascinating! I’m also really glad you like the art style, I definitely wanted to make it obvious that it wasn’t AI generated. Because of how common it is now.

    I absolutely commend any desert based magic that isn't just, desert is hot so they get fire magic. Looking forward to more!

      Wouldn't ice and water magic be more realistic because they need to cool down and water is scarce?.

    • @TheSongOfO
      @TheSongOfO  Месяц назад +1

      @@Cryodrakon2I 100% get what you mean, like their magic evolving as enhancing their methods of survival that would be really interesting to see! It depends on if the magic develops alongside them and their environment though. It would be hard to imagine a group of people gaining control over an element or resource that is so antithetical to the environment that they themselves evolve in. But then again because of the scarcity that could be why they develop the magic in the first place. I guess that’s why the desert - fire magic dynamic is kinda lazy though.

    Had a similar idea, one of the mosters is: there was a city that used to have alot of water.. export messed them up and eventually they turned to powerful transmutation, they started sacrificing humans in some weird alchemy to turn them to water, instead the water that came from this was in most cases a mercury like substance that was incredibly poisonous and put people into a comatose state. The people that survived this from having incredible willpower and many wards on them felt a presence growing within them.. they then decided to destroy all the work so it would never be used against humans or tempt them.
    Old text that survived outside of the city still pull people there for further knowledge on transmutation and the quest for water. So far it has given many improvements to the Leuthor kingdom that got second dibs on it. Most people that travel there die from the mercury wraiths that seem to hate and get hurt by Rain and regular water

      @TheSongOfO  Месяц назад +1

      That sounds super badass! I love the idea of mercury wraiths. I would be really interested in hearing more. It’s funny - the next video I plan on dropping is on the Knöx Sanguis that are subterranean blood magicians that use a radioactive heavy metal known as Insidium to create alchemical abominations.

    • @DarkMark-cf1ec
      @DarkMark-cf1ec Месяц назад

      @@TheSongOfO another one was a subterranean race that are "squid like" (similar to Dagon from Jujutsu Kaisen) so I decided to name them "Gravi-daoi". (silimar to your Knöx suprisingly)
      they live deep underground where the gravity is stronger, they are all different.. some have very human heads and the rest is tentacles.. some look like straight up humans other than the eyes or the suckers on their fingers.. or they look like a bodybuilder with a squid head, multiple mouths and hundreds of eyes on their bodies (all random). Cause of the strong gravity they are rather strong, they can also generate very well and camouflauge.
      they come to the surface during night time when its colder, using gravity magic and often challange people to a duel for "treasures", if one doesnt have treasure they can offer their life instead. underground illusion and mind magic are weaker due to being in a sort of a "null area" cause of "the one below" (which is actually just a big fu6k meteor that affects magic and is not an entity at all)
      they are somewhat hostile to humans and rely on water alot, their visit is allways short.

      @@DarkMark-cf1ecyou should share this! I’d 100% love to see/ hear more about your world. I like fantasy worlds that aren’t just elves and orcs and dwarves ya know? They’ve been done to death nowadays

    • @DarkMark-cf1ec
      @DarkMark-cf1ec Месяц назад

      @@TheSongOfO my world isnt fully fleshed out, there are 2 more:
      The Dao Dai are humanoid race that seem to look arabic and african with amber eyes and thick hair, they are usually 8-9 feet tall (largest was 11 feet but he had back pains). they are increadibly uncompromising, quiet.. and are really weak towards alcohol (very resitant but easily develop an addiction). They believe magic holds back the development of the natural order of things and thus only use healing magic when close to death (they can survive without a head or heart for days). They escaped from war and most abandoned their knack for pyromancy they used for metalwork. In their culture its common to shave from head to toe, since smaller races love to pull on their thick, wire-like hair as provocation.
      The other is "Klaush", who were space traveling wizards with great technology (steam punk X magic). They devled into technology and magic so far they found a being.. one that didnt destroy an entire civilication this time. it gave them the option to "meaning and salvation" or "greatness and satisfaction".. since the head wizards were worried they chose the first option.. thus their world crumbled and few escaped to "earth" so to speak. after multiple generations they realized the promise was fulfilled and they turned into monks.. that to truly understand life and its meaning isnt numbers or a goal like a machines, but subjective, that empirical data is below lifes wisdoms (depression in real life is higher the more one is intelligent). They then had only 1 trick that survived, which is biological, technological, mental and magical: "the meridian configuration", these "lock" peoples magic into fine points and compress it into enhancement magic.. making the body greater than ever, even the mind. they pass meridians on by dying and punching them into the right areas with their finger, this also recently has granted some minor psychic powers as the meridians become more spiritual (this does stop one from using magic and gives minor resistance to it)

    Are those vulture antelopes more closely related to birds or antelopes?
