My piano teacher taught classical only, nothing popular. She was old and strict but she liked me so she allowed me to bring the sheet music to 'California Dreaming'.
I learned how to play it, even in the dark. It was the only song I could play.
I shed a couple of tears of joy listening to this , one of my favourite songs. Your intonation is amazing. Thank you for sharing your talent and love of music. Respect.

I know this song by heart as I was around for the Mamas & Papas original but enough about that. You have updated a 60’s classic into a current sound 👏🏻👏🏻. You could sing a phone book and I would listen because your voice has so much depth of feeling and it comes through beautifully. Marvelous, simply marvelous! I would also like to second the suggestion made for you to cover My Immortal. It is one of my many personal favorites and I can already hear you singing it in my mind. 😘❤️

They wrote and sang this song the right way when they recorded it. The minor chords were used to emphasize the feeling of being cold - not that they had to sing it in a morose or serious or dramatic way. I appreciate that you like good music (for the most part) and that you want to be musical but I suggest writing your own songs. I can hear that you have talent but not using it is only wasting it.
I write my own music, if you looked a bit further you’d find it. People do covers in different ways, that’s the whole fun of it. Sorry what I do is not for you, but get off my page then instead of commenting on every video thinking you’re a music critic. 😆

@@annacamusic Look my intent wasn't to piss you off. There are a lot of people who have big egos that are fragile and easily broken - don't be one of them. L.A. is full of egos which is why I have no respect for it - all about money and no real class! Most of the shit that you hear on the radio today is just that. With no true inspiration or talent. All record companies do is hire producers and writers to pen a song with a keyboard and no true instrumentation or inspiration and most of the people from my generation and one back scratching their heads wondering where most of it came from and where true musicianship went to.
The classical masters are known today after 200 - 500 years later because they understood music. It wasn't as if you could go to a music store and buy it already written and recorded. They played instruments and arranged their own songs. Who can do that today? How many songs do you hear from the last 10 - 20 years ago that are still being played on the radio or in concert halls today? Music is something that takes some people a lifetime to master and most never will. Don't think I don't understand what you mean but I am not critiquing your singing but none of these songs or people that are on the radio have any staying power and will be a flash in the pan and completely forgotten about in 5 - 10 years.
None of them stand out because none of them either write their own "music" or play an instrument and couldn't if their lives depended on it. They all sound the same and all have no real business being anywhere near a microphone. I have been playing music for almost 40 years. I play my own songs and I understand music although I'll never be on T.V. or the radio that is not my intent. I don't care about adulation. I play for the love of music that anyone can appreciate. No I don't listen to just one type but an eclectic collection. It's what I hear with my ear and not my ideal of music that I appreciate.
Doing cover tunes and sounding like everyone else won't get you anywhere. I've seen scores of people that did and no one hears anything that they did now. And sadly no one cares. I've also heard some that are incredible on RUclips but they only do covers or one cover of a song and then nothing else. You have a pretty voice - use it for your own music and don't waste it! Maybe someone somewhere will discover you and then you can live your dreams. Thank you for your reply. I'll check out the other videos.
