I wanted to see the final part ("one week later") where suddenly it was a fully fledged Metroidvania with stunning graphics and gameplay. I suppose we'll have to wait for that... ;)
my experience: - tries godot and learns most stuff needs code and research, doesnt quite like it - after a week is familiar with nodes and loves signals - free, open source, no royalties if a game becomes successful, 100mb. - one month later its my all time favorite engine forever.
Haha, it's very relatable :) I've been trying to make games for 4 years using different engine, switched to Godot about 2 months ago, actually made a game I could publish. Lol It's a great engine, and the community is awesome :D
I'm glad I read the description, my comment was just going to be "That seems like a you problem, my guy." I am having a hard time learning Godot, which doesn't make sense to me. I know Unity, and I learned how to program as a kid on a C64 with BASIC and moved on to coding full games in Blitz. I don't know why Godot is giving me problems... it seems considerably easier than programming a whole game from scratch, and it seems similar enough to Unity that I shouldn't be having any issues. Which is exactly why this offended me right away lol. I was like "I'm having a hard time with Godot, but come on!!!"

Us
its best to use GD script and the built in code editor for godot
GD Script and VSCode with the Godot plugin*

Interesting.
The thumbnail says its 0/10
but the video is "YES SIR I LOVE GODOT"
consider using kinematic body instead of rigid body cuz that's way easier : )
this is how i imagine using c in godot
why did u use rigidbody ? ohh you're a unity user
until i saw the description i was about to infect with rabies in your sleep using a dog
I'm scared
@@r3sgame hahaha sorry
😅
still better than unity (at least for 2D game)
Agreed
Welp that's what happens when you use rigid body for the player...
first of all you cant do coding in visual studio for godot cuz it has a built in place for it.
Godot actually added external support for VS a while back.
If you think Godot is trash then play super mario 63 redux or super mario 127
Go dot
Wait, are you using a rigid body?
Perchance
@@r3sgame (rigid bodies make terrible character controllers in godot, just use a kinematic body)
godoot
rigidbody Hey bro why u ignore me?
I ignore myself. Do you expect better?
nOOb
Godot might be good for 2d games, but it can't make enough good 3d games to beat Unity. You probably mean that godot is good for learning.
No.
