Asad stays impartial, while Shehzad strongly dislikes PTI leadership and even has more animosity towards PTI workers. The main message in the podcast is that we should support principles, not oppose a political party.

A vast difference between Asad and Shahzad can be seen. Asad is mature, principled, and flexible, Shahzad babbles a couple of counter-arguments that any sane person knows are nonsense, focuses on parts of Asad's statements, and misses his central point. He does all of this just to act on his contrarian urges.
BTW, similar to Asad, Imran Riaz, Sami Ibrahim, etc even though might have been a beneficiary of the old establishment, still cling to their principles. Kudos to Asad, kudos to Imran Riaz, etc.

Wow! The meeting of two formidable personalities of Pakistani media was engaging as they discussed Pakistani realities. Both of them practice journalism by "fire"! Asad Tur spoke from the core of his heart and expressed that anyone who missed his explanation (wajahaat) on controversies surrounding him should see this podcast, as he has come out so well. It is common knowledge that he puts in a lot of hard work to bring out his 15-20 minute blog! Shehzad's dedication is also well known as he puts in a lot of research and reading to bring in one podcast. Salute to these young guys!
Both of them opened up their hearts, experiences, and total perception on public matters in Pakistan. They talked about the grip of the Establishment, which is holding on to the Pakistani system for the last 75 years. Whatever may be the setup, Fauz is the winner in every circumstance. Sadly, no solution looks to be in sight for this malady.
At one point in the podcast, both guys looked dejected or totally disappointed with the outcome of their ideology, hard work, and commitment to journalism for the cause of society, Pakistan. One can only feel sorry for people like Asad Tur and his generation in Pakistan. They are from good, cultured families, fairly educated, and adequately well-read to know what is happening around the world. Above all, they have nice sensitivity for social welfare and national well-being. Unfortunately, they find their country going absolutely in the direction that serves the purpose of very few, Army Generals, or the business community. A large number of people are deprived of basic facilities. But it can't be denied that they inspire youth, sow seeds of hope, and are important lamp posts who may illuminate the other end of the dark tunnel. If such people quit in frustration, it will push Pakistan back by another 75 years.

The host shouldn't be so obviously biased that, after just five minutes of the conversation, it is very clear from his comments and interpretations where he stands on the political spectrum. Regarding Asad Toor, I think he does a great job of maintaining objectivity in his commentary and narration.

Having followed pretty much every single episode of TPE for at least 6 months, I can say with certainty that, at a psychological level, the last half hour of the podcast made it probably one of most hard hitting TPE episodes - the way it reflected the effects of being a journalist/media personality with integrity in the establishment driven atmosphere of Pakistan was incredibly poignant.

Good podcast, but timming matters. You should have released this before the elections.

Well, I'm saying that the timing is relevant, not saying to put someone on lower priority. Many points raised by Asad Toor in your podcast have only been confirmed by the recent election rigging. Remains to be seen if the role of the judiciary is also confirmed when the cases challenging the election results remain pending... Just as in the case of Suri, who was able to remain deputy speaker for his entire tenure on a stay by the court..

All political parties should set aside their personal differences and focus on advancing the interests of the nation, with the aim of promoting progress. It is imperative that they collaborate to enact legislation that serves the national interest in a reasonable manner, thereby ensuring that our collective direction as a nation is aligned towards the common good. Subsequently, political activities should be conducted on ethical grounds, where the dissemination of false information for political gain is unacceptable. It is essential for political figures to maintain credibility, as their ability to hold positions of authority hinges upon it.
