2 tips for helping improve and reverse a Dowager's hump or "neck hump."

  • I've been working on improving mine for a while now, and I'm seeing some improvement, so I thought I'd share.
    A Dowagers hump is created by increased curve of the upper spine which is part of forward-head posture.
    The body lays down extra tissue to support the weight of the forward head.
    Warming up the tissue with self-massage, then lifting the upper chest to create back-bending in the upper back just below the neck are helping me to reverse mine.
    Being conscious of my head carriage during the day reduces the load on my upper back and helps prevent my body from laying down more tissue in that unwanted location.
