That gas valve has been a problem for many years in that house. They redesigned it at least 15 years ago to get rid of that bad connection problem and you should make the first sixteenth of the turn to break it free before taking it off furnace . It's like the factory acted like pipe dope was a thousand bucks a can
Man that thing was on there tighter than a gnats ass...There was a whole lot more going on there, but can only charge for what the cusomter can afford Happy Holidays!
You mentioned that you could have used the universal valve in your truck. Is it possible to use a universal in place of a smart valve? Or is there a special universal that is made for smart valves in particular?
It’s very possible but I had a new smart valve 10 min away. I chose just to use that and keep the universal for another time rather than restocking a universal in my van.
@Matts_Crafty I didn't know a standard universal valve could be substituted for a smart valve. Is there a complicated retrofit required? Seems like you would have to accommodate the small molex plug as well as the intermittent pilot assembly. I would appreciate any additional tips or maybe even put that in a video 😉
Seems like a parts seller to me. Didn't show diagnosis of the valve being bad just gets cut off as he's checking the plug. Dude sold the a smart valve instean of tightening up the connector. Some people are parts swapper and some are actual mechanics.@@Matts_Crafty
