I mean with shields its really not a problem. And often you can just sprint past mobs. Thats the biggest mistake I see noobs doing: fighting mobs that are in their way when they dont need to. If you run past them and block anything you need to with a shield you will be fine
I can confirm that in a group of (~30) friends who play a lot of minecraft, there are like 2 or 3 people who are "good" at parkour, I am one of them, and I've hit a double neup, which is slightly easier than a triple neo i think, twice. I've hit that jump twice and he just knocked out a crap ton in a row
