After that is pretty consistent, besides the 47/48 green orb. After the 57 straight fly the level picks up in difficulty again. The 63 straight fly and mini wave both have awful transitions into them, making them a bit irritating. 64-66 probably has the fastest click speed of the level, along with 77-80, which made them hard to practice, but those sections were super fun to pull off. The 67 black orb sucks a lot, it was very annoying. The ending of the level is not too hard, although has some hard clicks like 92 and the last click. Literally what they did to the mace Wind Burst + wind charge movement tech combo. In the first snapshots, when Wind Burst enchantment was introduced, you were able to put wind charge in offhand, throw it, and immediately punch it with Wind Burst enchanted mace to trigger the enchant. The difference between this and just throwing wind charge below you is: 1. You don't need to stand on the ground 2. You don't need to look down While wind charge jump is just a regular jump, but higher, wind burst jump was basically an air jump. Infinite as long as you have wind charges in your offhand, and your mace is enchanted with Wind Burst. This provided some REALLY fun aerobics with mace. It was like flying around the Trial Chambers with elytra, but taking more "fuel" (wind charges vs fireworks), moving slower, and without the risk of slamming against the wall and dying, AND without the elytra mace damage nerf. I was really looking toward release to play around with this mechanic some more. AND THEN THE DELETED IT. Someone reported it as a bug on the bugtracker AND THEY PATCHED IT. NOW YOU CAN'T DO THIS. THEY TOOK THE MOST FUN ELEMENT OF THE UPDATE AND THE MOST FUN MINECRAFT MOVEMENT TECHNIC EVER. Why did they do this????? This tech required fighting with gravity (since performing an air jump doesn't instantly and completely negate the vertical velocity you had, meaning you can't just cancel your fall 1 block away from death in a moment), grinding mace, grinding Wind Burst, grinding wind charges, and all of that to reach the FRAGMENT of the effectiveness of the sharpness 5 netherite sword in combat, and a PERCENT of the effectiveness of the elytra in travel. IT WASN'T BREAKING THE GAME, WHY DID THE TOOK IT??? It was niche, costly, not very effective, but really FUN technic. This is ridiculous To this day, I'm still waiting for a mod or a datapack that reverts this change. I don't even hope that Mojang themselves will revert this, since literally nobody is talking about it.
@@amethyst137_ I was 1 of the best players in the world at that combat style in the snapshots (there was a public server you could play it on) and I can safely say it was completely broken, I could launch myself 300 blocks in the air with a single wind charge and it was 10x better than a sharp 5 netherite sword to the point i could comfortably 1v5+ anyone in regular smp kit
And they're going to delete it from Java instead of adding it to Bedrock, of course =/ Why the f is mojang deleting features for parity instead of adding them 🙄
@erich_ika Not only. Mojang is shearing both versions of anything that's better than the other version, turning them into 2 similar, but fully naked sheep
Mojang has a bad habit with randomly making “fixes” for things that have existed for nearly 1.5 decades are pretty much just game mechanics without first looking at how those changes will actually affect people.
Mojang:"Vertical slabs worsen the player's creativity." Also Mojang:"Oh a random guy reported 45 strafe as a bug! The same snapshot also changes water elevators so the ice boat racing community has hundreds of tracks that will be made useless with these changes. Basically any track with any water elevators won't be able to function anymore...
My favorite game, ultrakill, is so good because the developer embraces unintended tech found by the community. For example, you can punch projectiles in that game, and people found you can punch shotgun pellets the moment they come out of the gun to make them explosive which is fairly hard to do. Instead of patching it, Hakita left it in the game and even added a style point bonus for doing it. The same thing happened for tech like slam storage, shotgun swapping, and core nuking. This is why I love indie games, since they’re often in touch with their players and actually think about who it benefits before removing niche discoveries by their players.
Well, next snapshot comes out tomorrow morning, so we'll see if this ends up staying soon enough... Edit: They kept it. 1.21.4 will be the version all parkour players use for the forseeable future.
When Mojang fixed block specific effects (or like bouncing on slime, slow on soul sand, ice mechanics on ice etc.) not working while standing on edges of those blocks, I was a bit sad but understood the idea: the positive is that youll still get applied (mostly) positive effects or such The 1.9 update never fixed a glitch but a mechanic which was very impactful on how the game works so even though many people were angry, I can still somewhat get behind that point BUT THIS, how at Mojang in their right mind thought fixing a glitch like this which doesnt impact the core game that much was a good idea, like COME ON
I feel like in the recent times Mojang is just going through the bug list and try to “fix” them one by one, without thinking about the impact of such a “fix”
Hey! Thanks for making this video! I'm convinced this is intentional and I'm concerned about Mojang making Java worse than Bedrock for "parity" reasons. Mojang prioritizes Bedrock more than Java (Microsoft). I don't understand why would they choose the worse version to do parity with instead of making Bedrock like Java...
I think the answer is obvious: money. By making Java worse than Bedrock they'd have more chances of getting people into Bedrock, which has a lot of paywalled stuff, and discouraging people from playing Java. I actually feel like Microsoft's ultimate goal is to get rid of Java completely.
@@ITInikitronITI Obviously it is, they dont want to develop two seperate versions when 80-90%+ of the playerbase is on bedrock. Honestly java are lucky its gone on so long.

Why does Minecraft have to make stupid changes like this, no one complained about it at all but just because it's a "bug" it's bad and needs to be fixed? That is a bad mindset, especially for minecraft, which has multiple bugs that are iconic to the game, like the origin of the Creeper and boats on ice. This is just a really annoying change and I really hope they don't go through with this.
it's not even really a bug, it's just the way the math works out for combining two vectors. A lot of games don't even bother normalizing the vector precisely because the movement feels very slow and weird
Movement is so fundamental to minecraft and something that every player experiences immediately upon entering the game no matter the skill level. It's perfect how it is now. It's not a niche. Its not a bug. Fix bedrocks shitty movement, don't "fix" Java's perfect movement for dear Lords sake! I will completely refuse to play the game until this is fixed.
I feel like mojang isnt distant from the competitive side of minecraft, they just dont care about it. They are trying to make this game easy. Also they dont want to really push the community to its limits for some reason, like when they fucked up the copper bulb, or when they added soul speed so godbriging doesnt really matter. They are trying to make the new players get into the game by making it easier, (by adding more progression, yet the mobs are the same) but that doesnt work, cuz new players probbly dont even know or understand 90% of the things that they are "fixing" cuz they dont even know about the bug in the first place. And it just makes the whole dedicated playerbase angry
They aren’t trying to make it “easy”, they’re trying to make it functional while walking on the eggshells that the competitive minecraft competitive community has placed. I get it man, we all hate em, but most of us hate something they did wrong, not something they did right. Play a server that doesn't have soul blocks in the loot pool ffs
honestly it's not even a bug, the square root of 2 with crouching is exactly the square of 2 different 90 degree momentums converging, you have a forwards speed and a sideways speed, its how it was programmed since day 1. it's honestly so baffling how they're doing such a fundamental physics change in a "drop" wilst they have features like the bundles and other rebalances like the 1.16 combat tests still sitting there waiting to be finished.

Really sad and frustrating when devs patch out these cool little unintentional mechanics that make games way more interesting and technical when applied to higher level play. Especially in a case like this where it’s something most players wouldn’t even notice.
oh DW, every pvp heavy server is going to just use a plugin to re-add the strafing :D, either that or mojangs gonna see that we're not mindlessly glazing their nothing burger updates and revert it
Even I’m frustrated with this change even though I never used it. Like you said this could’ve just been fixed back before the competitive scene. There’s still stuff like sand and tnt duping that is still in the game and both would get fixed sometime in the future. Like even the player loot anger piglin farms in which been in the game since the 1st nether update and that’s now getting fixed. I still don’t think Mojang knows what the community wants at all but just fixing bugs that been in the game for years that DON’T need to be fixed.
2:50 my 2 cents on "why now?" This probably happened as a side-effect of a larger rework. I highly doubt someone woke up some day and decided to look at decade old bug reports. Someone probably noticed that whatever larger refactoring they were doing fixed this and updated the issue. If there's no simple way to include this within the "new code", there's 0 chance they'll return it. Tbh, even if it is easy to return, I doubt mojang gives a fuck. Ngl I really wish minecraft died a long time ago and was replaced by a similar game that actually has decent people behind it
I really hope the movement doesn’t get fucked up and goes back to normal and I do hope that it was an accident that will get fixed but I feel that is unlikely
weirdly enough, 1.20.x has been the second 1.8 of Minecraft.. Mods have just started to become more relevant. and more mod creators came by, and ultimately making most GOOD mods stuck in 1.20.x without any updates. And a ton of people still only play on 1.20.x
You mean 1.7.10? That, and 1.12.2 are major versions for modded Minecraft. And now with these game drops that are more small updates more often, modders might not be able to keep up with updates so they will have to stick with versions, like how now 1.20.1 is becoming popular, but others might choose to make mods for the latest version, fragmenting the modded community further. We might have to rely on staying in older versions and getting mods to port future features to older versions, like how I added a mod that adds things from up to 1.21.4 to my 1.20.1 modpack.
I'm not sure if I'm interested in moving on from 1.21.4. I didn't care about the combat update but this movement nerf + other things are making me feel like I don't want to update anymore
I dont think its been long enough yet to conclude that most mods are staying on 1.20 or anything like for example 1.10 was pretty big for modding, 1.11 wasn't, but then 1.12 was very major again its not unheard of that mods skip a version - or maybe even multiple if its been some more time and 1.22 has come out and then mods are still sticking to 1.20 maybe then this is a conclusion you could come to but for now I think its too early for that
MC in general. When was the last time they tried to make Bedrock better? They are just lazy, so instead of adding new features that don't exist in another version for parity, they delete them from the version they exist in
Dude I hated it when Mojang fixed the way water would absolutley grief your world if you placed a single block source, or later when the entire world would just generate as a giant ocean with like 4 small islands every 10000 blocks
This is like if mojang randomly decided to "patch" quasi connectivity or sprint resetting, such a dumb and unnecessary change made for stupid bedrock parity.
@@SkybIockerI don't think that adding all of them would be good (I think quasi connectivity is wierd and actually should have been patched before it became used too much), but in general yes I don't understand why they're removing things instead of adding. That's just a waste of time and is bad for everyone
"When the entire fun of a game is built by the creativity and tools allowed to the community, it is the core; the universally constant and consistent features making the only bad in it." This is a quote I kind of made myself. Essentially, if a video game is only played because it allows complete creative freedom; for you to express yourself; to connect with others; to be creative, the only negative and controversial parts can be the core. I'm having a really hard time explaining this, let me show you by example, in fact, its already happened. The reason why minecraft 1.9 was so badly received, or even could be, was because it fundementally changed a core game mechanic, PVP. The attacking system is always present, you cannot change, remove it, do any silly shit with it with the tools given to you, and PVP is always there, its always used, its even going to be used when people perform, well, the entire fun of a game, the complete creative freedom. It's also nitpicks like UI that could be bad. I'm not trying to say that these constants and core features are bad in of themselves, its that they play a huge role across the entire community and game itself, and any modifications must be done with utmost care. Minecraft 1.9 and snapshot 25w02a are taken negatively for the most part because not enough care or thought was put into the execution of their changes TO core features, PVP and movement respectively.
@ I don't think you are speaking of the same thing as PrestonMC_ , as he say taking damage from a 2 block drop when you talk about damage boosting (which is done by taking any type of damages)
Mate bedrock players never HAD the nether roof and its sucks seeing java players have the time of their lives meanwhile bedrock just sucks in comparision.
@GRIBLYGROBLY yeah i played minecraft on my phone for like 8 years but it was just bad compared to java, but if you have a pc there is so reason to play bedrock because with mods java performance is better than the bedrock performance.
@@theclaudeqc3rdone290I like that there are like 4 Minecraft-like games developed at the moment. Maybe when they'll start gaining popularity, Mojang will finally need to pay for their laziness and not caring about the community. Like it wouldn't be hard to add this to Bedrock instead, but they instead decide to delete it
I find this to be a good change for most people. Glitches that most people don't know about that give people who know about them a significant advantage make multiplayer less accessible and fun to new players.
i don't get why they don't just make the faster speed the default instead of the slower speed. that way the diagonal jumps are still achievable but instead of limiting parkour it opens a new avenue to make forward movement improved as well
Doesn’t the Minecraft design book say to not remove bugs that the community treats as features if there’s no way to mechanically replace them? Like what the heck Mojang this is so important to the community.
Nomatter how much they do to try and change the game to make the community happy, they never actually listen to the community. They always do unneeded stuff like this, never add what the community wants, and always ignore all the backlash they get. Mojang has a lot of problems, and it’s unfair they are able to just screw up such a beloved game since they don’t wanna listen to the people that play it.
Tbf they do add community requests (bamboo wood, cherry blossoms, armor trims using the same materials as the armor, wolf & farm animal variants) It just might be that the community is so huge that the developers can‘t handle this enough

I can’t have been the only one to see the update and know the community would have a major problem with it. I expected a video, but not from @choof. Even though it is a ‘bug’ it really didn’t need to be fixed, especially after being in the game for so long. Making it a feature effectively. After all, why was quasi-connectivity (a red stone bug) not ‘fixed’ and later classified as a feature, what is the difference Mojang.

There are at least two others i saw just peeking at the first page If Mojang sees this and still continues to implement the "fixes", then they clearly have no idea how their own game works.
Don't wanna seem like a hater or smth, but let's be real: 4.5k votes is a very small amount of votes compared to the total playerbase. Why would they even care about this petition if the rest doesn't complain publicly about it?
@@ITInikitronITI No. the only thing that matters is how many votes do OTHER things on the forum receive normally? because those ALSO are a very small portion of the playerbase and if they listen to say posts with 900 votes, then 4.5k is MASSIVE by comparrison.
it's the same problem in TF2 with Blu Scout's pants, he's meant to have Blue pants but due to a texture bug he has Brown pants of the Red Scout, however it's been over a decade and all the official art has the Brown pants, it can no longer be changed
I have the need to say that at least they released this as a snapshot, they want feedback. They will take it into consideration and change their minds.
I honestly thought this was a feature.. Same with spawn invulnerability, which they also removed recently as a “bug fix” (at least from single player) It is a sad road we’re going down. Though I will say one change I do agree with is the “new” combat system. I know a controversial opinion. However old combat is literally just a spam click contest where as new combat actually requires skill. Sorry but getting destroyed by auto clickers just isn’t fun. Other than that though im not a fan of the controversial changes, especially the last few which is why im still playing on 1.20.1.
The history of Minecraft is devs not understanding it's a feature, not a bug. The Far Lands, void chunks, dupe exploits, old combat, and of course a million redstone and farm mechanics are what make Minecraft interesting.

While wind charge jump is just a regular jump, but higher, wind burst jump was basically an air jump.
This is ridiculous
To this day, I'm still waiting for a mod or a datapack that reverts this change.

It's a fucking snapshot. They're doing this to see what people say. It's a snapshot and not everything is final.
I've played ultrakill once and instantly fell in love with the movement. glad that this dev is so in touch with the community
Funnily enough, Notch plays Ultrakill, so he probably disagrees with Mojang's decision to remove this movement ability.
Well, next snapshot comes out tomorrow morning, so we'll see if this ends up staying soon enough...

When Mojang fixed block specific effects (or like bouncing on slime, slow on soul sand, ice mechanics on ice etc.) not working while standing on edges of those blocks, I was a bit sad but understood the idea: the positive is that youll still get applied (mostly) positive effects or such
The 1.9 update never fixed a glitch but a mechanic which was very impactful on how the game works so even though many people were angry, I can still somewhat get behind that point
BUT THIS, how at Mojang in their right mind thought fixing a glitch like this which doesnt impact the core game that much was a good idea, like COME ON
I feel like in the recent times Mojang is just going through the bug list and try to “fix” them one by one, without thinking about the impact of such a “fix”

Exactly there are so many "bugs" that made the game what it is today
yeah re-logic did this way better with the HOIK. Do your research if you want.
it's not even really a bug, it's just the way the math works out for combining two vectors. A lot of games don't even bother normalizing the vector precisely because the movement feels very slow and weird
Movement is so fundamental to minecraft and something that every player experiences immediately upon entering the game no matter the skill level. It's perfect how it is now. It's not a niche.

This probably happened as a side-effect of a larger rework.
@@Eltodofull no truly 1.20.x. look at most mods. they are mostly on 1.20.x

I dont think its been long enough yet to conclude that most mods are staying on 1.20 or anything
like for example 1.10 was pretty big for modding, 1.11 wasn't, but then 1.12 was very major again
its not unheard of that mods skip a version - or maybe even multiple

"When the entire fun of a game is built by the creativity and tools allowed to the community, it is the core; the universally constant and consistent features making the only bad in it."
This is a quote I kind of made myself.
