*I'm deaf in my right ear which is why I'm not wearing headphones. I know, it's a bummer not to get the panning sounds. It's also been a bummer to only have one ear my whole life for lots of other reasons, like, playing telephone growing up, I was terrible at it. This song came from an album with a strong environmentalist message. This song is about the apocalyptic future world where the water is poisoned, where you can't breath without a mask, and where you can no longer go outside into the sunlight. The song is a call for people to act out against the possibility of this future and to save the world from its destruction.
The next song I'd recommend listening to is one that people often never listen to, "I Speak Astronomy". It has a great prog sound to it.

The reason why most modern environmentalist issues today revolve around CO2 is because its the most imminent and dangerous threat to the world
@TheBlackiwid what the IPCC means is that it's not ENOUGH. And the thing is that the rise in water levels associated to higher co2 levels means that entire countries are sinking. And as far as the wars go, they're not climatic issues so I don't know why you bring them up in a discussion of imminent climatic disasters
The bassist and drummer are holding their own? They are the driving force of Jinjer. Eugene the bassist is doing things with his bass that are unbelievable.
Eugene and BOHde Daisuke (Baby Metal) are the two best bassists I´ve seen in YT lately
My favorite song. While Pisces caught my attention, this is the song that made me a fan. One of the things they teach in first aid class is that in any crisis, most people stand around waiting for someone to step up and do something. But I don't think it is saying one person needs to step up, because our world now is so screwed up, we *all* have to be "the one." I like the shade of meaning in the line "pick up the weapon of your own choice" that could be taken either "choose your weapon" or "your conscious choice itself is a weapon against oppression." As someone who grew up rightwing and voted rightwing my whole adult life only to finally see that it was all lies, the ending is especially meaningful to me. And she says it so gently and soulfully after the brutality of the rest of the song. It is just captivating.
This is also my favorite song so I love watching people reacting to it!!!
That phrase and "when you change yourself you change the world" from Gojira's 'Silvera' are the two phrases that resonate the most with me. : )
Omg this woman does it for me.. the way she dances between screams and the grinding in the air. 😍🤤 This is what I talk about when I say she fills this song with so much energy. Tatiana is amazing! The switching from growls to head voice to the complete genre change at the end with the reggae feel. Jinger has quickly become my favorite current metal band

It is a beautiful, sad and dark song. So is Retrospection, particularly in its final part. I really hope they can come back to a pacified Donbas any time soon.
It's about taking responsibility for your own impact on the environment and world. You know, recycle, don't litter, buy responsibly sourced foods and such
It's more than that - it's a rallying cry to stand up and fight to prevent the type of apocalyptic future she describes in the earlier part of the song. It's a protest song!
It seems like ya really liked the switch up at the end. If you did may I suggest their songs judgment and punishment music video.

Consider where they grew up and where they are coming from, and what their experiences are ... war-torn Eastern Ukraine. It benefits to keep that in perspective and in mind when reading Tati's lyrics, IMO.
Also growing up in the immediate aftermath of the Soviet collapse, and the widespread pollution that the Soviet system's total commitment to unrestricted industry and the military-industrial complex created.
The war in eastern Ukraine began after they released this album. This album is about a climate apocalypse

The song is about standing up against environmental damage. It comes of the album, Cloud Factory which dares the theme in most songs. Who is gunna be the one to make a difference, stand up and protest.

Fun Fact: This is the only song from their drop C tuning "era" that was converted and carried into the drop A tuning "era". All the other "older" songs were played in the original tuning. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is also the only old song that they still play live, along with the "newer" songs from King Of Everything, Micro and Macro.
When I saw them at the end of October they played 4 songs from Cloud Factory, Outlander, Cloud Factory, this one and Zhelayu Znachit Poluchu I believe. That was the tail end of the Micro tour, the new album was out and I think they played 4 songs off that one too, but yeah, by now it's probably different
@@FalconFlurry - I know that after Macro was released they "removed" all the old songs from their setlist but I don't know if they kept this one, since it's in their current tuning.

owhh yesss, MORE JINJER!! They are such an amazing band! Another great band is (or rather was) ISIS. Their song Garden of Light is amazing. After they broke up, the majority of the band teamed up with Deftones`s Chino Moreno to form the band Palms. Which again, i also highly recommend listening too!!!

Yeah man! Tatiana is a lyricist (she wrote 90% of all Jinjer's lyrics) - and she has a university degree in “Russian language and literature” - so her lyrics will have to be considered adjusted for super-refined, and super-deep, soul movements (the classic of Russian literature - Turgenev, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky ... did not hear? then you won’t understand half the meaning of Tania’s songs! 😀)

Nah three isn't bad at all.. especially considering there is not much overlap. Pop fans are unlikely to watch metal videos and vice versa so for some it may only be 1 video of interest a day. For me I usually give anything at least a chance and am very active especially on songs I like which today is a good example.. My all time favorite song with my fav modern metal band in one day.. pop fans may have not found any of it appealing, so keep it up unless its exhausting you 😁
