The area in the Ukraine Jinjer is from has been a warzone since the breakup of the USSR in the 90's.
They grew up in war and still can't visit their family when they want to because the area they live in is occupied by Russia.
You'll see the lyrics in several of their songs make mention of them growing up in misery and fear.
And it's also why songs like this, Teacher, Teacher and several others have activist lyrics.

It's a resist and protest song, basically when you see injustice and cruelty who is going to be the one to step up and resist and who is going to be among those that stay quiet and participate in the injustice by tacit silence. Who is going to be the one to resist and not step aside.

It's the same with quick rap. Listening to the genre more you will hear every word.
@@chyname Yeah basically what Acidic said. Practice gives you the ear, it's like listening to a thick regional accent, someone speaks it quickly and to the unlearned it may as well be another language but to a local it's as plain as day what's being said. Simply you listen and get used to it.

Jen G this is a response from another reaction video about the guy that was over hyped about Tatiana's looks. Good on ya for giving him a Non SJW reaction (aka ban hammer) y'all talked through everything and I learned that Tatiana is punk fan which explains her "skankin". Yes Tatiana is pretty but I love her smile it's just genuine when she is on stage, just having fun and loving what dose. I know this is a bit random but felt like that the comments on the other reaction needed stay where the were.

Exactly. It's a stage persona. I've been playing shows on drums for metal bands for 15 years and I become a totally different animal when on stage. It's part of the fun. It's almost like Halloween.

I've been playing live shows in metal bands for like 15 years on drums. We have a stage persona, it's not who we really are off the stage. I'm a super nice dude (at least I always try to be), but on stage I can look like a demon. It's all part of the show brotha. Tatiana is super sweet. Watch any interview with her to see her off stage personality.

The death metal growls (growlings) are not really called singing in our world, it's called a vocalist. And we divide it in two: clean vocals and normal vocals (growling). We assume a vocalist growls and if the person sings normally, it's call clean vocals.
More like Clean and Harsh vocals but whatever.

What you need to understand is that most metal musicians sound mean but are the nicest people and take time to interact and talk with their fans. Most pop stars sound nice but are actually mean and don't interact with their fans unless they get paid.

Yes growling is still considered singing because it takes control and range just like regular singing if you were to try to do it you'd damage your vocal cords. It takes a lot of vocal training.

What do you expect from a band from the Ukraine?
They grew up in a period where the Russians and Ukraine wanted control of the land (ex USSR) and were refuges in their own land. We can go off on racial disparity - but they were literally refugees that couldn't get back to their folks because of the war - listen to the song Home Back. It was literally more a case of dodging bombs than dodging words on social media. No-one in the US has issues like this. Retrospection is another song about their desire about being able to go back and visit their folks.
Tati's voice on Retrospection... it is that of a angel and then the Devil. The intro is that of a Russian doll - perfect and pure... and then someone detonates the Tsar Bomba!
From hardship comes great rewards. I wish Jinjer had a happier life but the music that came from their difficulties is amazing and I thank them for that. You probably wouldn't expect a 50 year old guy say this but they're one of the best bands I've ever heard.
