Just a heads up to whom ever is going to own this truck, no matter how much you rev up the RPM’s the bed will NOT go back down to its resting position from its extended position any quicker! The beds return is a complete float return. It will extend quicker when the engine RPM’s are increased, but it absolutely will not return any quicker. Also, with the type of transmission and shifting tower (from the factory, made by AM General - Allison transmission with a CAT 7155 air assist shifting tower/16 speed forward and 2speed reverse) and an in-line 6, 400 Cummins engine installed in these trucks it is NOT recommended to put the truck in gear and drive forward while lowering the bed as well. If you do, absolutely do not shift while driving and lowering the bed and drive consistent and slow. Pusher axle (3rd axle) is not a drive axle but it is a braking axle. The tail gate release is manual as well as the tarp. Front drive axle is air assist with switch on the dashboard. The bed capacity in cubic yards is 18 struck and 22 with side boards and heaped and has a GVWR of 75000lbs. regardless of how the specs online or in the manual are written. It handles it with ease on or off road. BTW, would love to own THIS truck.
The 7155 Caterpillar is a Semi-Automatic Air-Shift,not Allison. The M915-M920A0's all had 7155's,the M915-M920A1's all had either MT-500 or MT-600 Allison Automatics.
Looks great I could use it in Costa - Rica you said it has a 400 Cummings , How about the 920 , same engine ? The 920 shown here had some smoke ! Apparently the 920 has a different dump system for they drove it around both raising & lowering the box
Don't you think that tire, or those tires, should be replaced? That tire was made the 34th week of 2005 so, it was 12 years old at the time this was published.
1:24 we see several shots of the engine. Aren't they gonna burn the motor up as the fan is not turning ? Is it a time delay or is the fan disconnected?

They have a clutch. Only runs when needed. They don’t make much heat at idle.
On most of the Military Trucks,the Fan Clutch stays still and is Engaged once the Truck is ready to be in motion.
Is it an automated dump truck.

None of the LH/LET/MET M915-M920's had a 444,they all have a NTC-400 Cummins.The later verisons built by Freightliner use a Series 60 Detroit.
