Become a military training assistant (January 19, 2023) PROMOTED TO BEFORE TIME Expected: September 2023 Actual : 07/2023, Jin became a high-ranking Special Forces soldier. PROMOTED TO BEFORE TIME Expected: January 2024 Actual: December 2023 >> Sergeant is the last and highest rank in the military rank of the Korean Armed Forces (with a 4-dash military rank). Until now, Jin will continue to work as a Military Training Assistant at Division 5 and maintain the highest rank for an active duty soldier, the rank of Sergeant, until demobilization. (By 875 Comments Vtrans) 2. JHOPE: enlists (April 18, 2023). discharged (October 17, 2024) PROMOTED TO 2 MONTHS AHEAD Expected: January 2024 Actual: November 2023 J hope becomes a Special Soldier of the Special Forces (September 2023) become Platoon Leader, military training assistant (By 875 Comment Vtrans) 3. SUGA: enlist (September 22, 2023) discharge (June 21, 2025) community service staff 4. RM, V enlisted: (December 11, 2023) discharged (June 10, 2025) Recruit training center in Honsan. V belongs to the Special Forces of the Seoul Metropolitan Defense Command (SDT) (very harsh and dangerous) RM is a member of the military band (not so sure yet) RM and V became squad leaders of the rookie team. (December 2023) RM, V elite recruits at Nonsan Training Center at the Rookie Graduation Ceremony RM, V were promoted to private first class (March 1, 2024) 5. JIMIN,JUNGKOOK: Enlisted: (December 12, 2023) discharged: (June 11, 2025) Recruit Training School of the 5th Infantry Division. Division 5 is also where Jin is on duty as a training assistant. JIMIN, JUNGKOOK promoted to private first class (March 2024) JIMIN was ranked first and received the 'Most Outstanding Soldier' award from Division Commander Yoon Gi-Joong and the sworn representative. JUNGKOOK and JIMIN participated in the military enlistment process under the "enlistment companion" category. English is my second language so... thank u :3
Is the military band thing for RM verified? As far as I know there only was this one picture which looked somewhat fake? Jimin and Jungkook are said to be in an Artillery unit, I think that information was official.

We all can have pro or against political views on the military but our boys are already there, they are serving, let's just hope they'll come back healthy (physically and mentally). I'm from Poland (our neighbour is Ukraine, Belarus and small part of Russia) we also have a mandatory military service, guess why? Just like South Korea has an unstable and unpredictable neighbour, so do we. I feel we need strong army and civilians should be trained to some extent, it just needs to be done well and with proper equipment. Military training is such a hard topic. People in stable geo-politically countries are lucky, they don't have influx of war refugees, they can't even imagine what refugees went through. I really hope we could see a light in the tunnel... Suga ended up in the military social service because of his shoulder. In many countries, if you end up on this position without any health reasons, you are highly connected to powerful people so strings are pulled for you. That’s a very privileged position. Normal people ended up in the mud all day and some died. South Korean military service is known for abuse to a point of suicide and deaths. There is no doubt that they see BTS serving as an opportunity to clean their image. They have achieved more than those in South Korea in terms of the criteria they claim they need to give citizens special exemptions. But they are made to serve anyway. The current president and minister of defense never served in the military themselves based on made up medical conditions by paid health professionals. That’s how corrupt they are and that’s is how much of a joke their rules for special considerations are. But let’s be real. You belong to a social class of privilege so military service is behind a desk for you. Same goes for Singapore.
We don't have such a thing in my country so I can't quite accept it yet but I do understand that different measurements are taken in different countries according to their military situation. But overall I can't wait for them to come back ( jin is coming back on the day of my last exam it feels like a gift) Also good luck for you too Cyrus I can't say I hope you had fun but I hope it was at least bearable. 💜💜💜
In our country, there's no such thing, I get that it's for self defense but isn't it quite counter productive as well? Both countries will now have to stay on guard. I really thought war is a thing of the past due to miscommunications which led to unfortunate event after another. I still can't believe it could still be a thing, even in midsts of social media, where people could know almost anything in no time.

Mandatory military service is a violation of human rights, namjoon has always been against service and we can see it by his type of mentality in his songs, Unfortunately South Korea is now using them for their military propaganda
Maybe, but isn't it also possible that being in the military has changed his perspective about it? I mean in that video that was released he did say he wished that we lived in a world where guns didn't have to be used. I don't think he was forced to make that video and make it seem like he was having a jolly good time, maybe he's just trying to see the upside of his service. But also what's the alternative? Not making it mandatory and hope that enough men and women enlist voluntarily and hope North Korea doesn't take advantage of a smaller military size?

He has always stated his commitment to fulfill his duty as a citizen of South Korea. I too find it regrettable that they have to spend time in the army. However, he has never made a statement against carrying out the country's obligations, nor has he expressed an opinion that implies such a stance.
