We knew this was coming so honestly the fandom isn't all that upset. In fact, we are all looking forward to being able to potentially save some money for their next tour over the next couple years. Also, the company has a backlog of prerecorded content ready to release while they're in the military so there will be no shortage of content.

I know we as army have a unique way of reacting to emotional news, when we were really mad we charted there entire discography, & in response to this news we were on twitter cracking jokes and posting hilarious memes but that is how we cope when we ARE UPSET! It also shows that faced with adversity we don't just lay down & give up. But to say "we aren't all that upset" is just plain wrong. I don't think anyone is happy about this situation & and given a say in the matter wouldn't advocate for a different out come. We are glad that the boys made that power move & took the control out of the g'vments hands & back into their own, not allowing themselves to be manipulated by these cowards, by these corrupt, greedy, nepotistic officials in power (& they really are.) But it is not over yet, BTS have just put the ball back into the ministers court at the perfect time after the" BUSAN CONCERT" highlighted perfectly the economic power that our boys weild 💜

It's mandatory and they each need to serve a total of 18 months. They won't be back till 2025 because they are all going at separate times during these next few months/years. They will still be releasing solo projects while we wait for 2025 though and we already know something huge will be released as a group once they can all finally be together as a group again
this GMA report is pretty accurate. yes the guys will be going to military until 2025. theyre not all going at once but theyll all be gone at the same time if that makes sense. like theyre not leaving together but theyll be in service at the same time. they want to/plan to return in 2025 so they all have to go by july/aug 2024 the latest to be back for 2025.
we all knew this when we became fans im not sure how you guys didnt know yet but this is a normal thing for males in korea.
bts have always said theyll serve when the time comes and dont want special treatment. the government was trying to give them special treatment and trying to exempt them or use them but bts decided to revoke the treatment and enlist to get it over with and not have it held over their heads anymore. they made the decision to go even though it is mandatory they still make the decisions when. it shocked the korean government more than it shocked fans.

ARMY knew this was coming. Even with the possibility of an exemption. Honestly, I suspect if an exemption had been granted, BTS would still enlist. They're humble about their superstardom and they're proud of their country. I wish them all the best. Their immense discography is enough to tide me over until 2025. And through BTS, I've discovered other amazing artists that will inspire me while BTS is serving.

Jin (the oldest member) will begin his enlistment process after this solo release called The Astronaut comes out on October 28th. He's going to perform the song for the first time at Coldplay's concert in Argentina (Coldplay worked on the song with him). Since they each have to serve 18-21 the latest they can enlist is mid 2024 (because they didn't say early or late 2025 for their return), but I suspect they will enlist throughout 2023 after their solo releases come out. BTS has always prided themselves as being 7 members (I mean they each have 7 tattoo) and I don't think they want to make any group music without a member gone. So they have been working on their own solo projects for awhile. J-Hope released his first official album called Jack In the Box back in July and then headlined Lollapalooza and now Jin will release his solo. People have to remember that technically North Korea and South Korea are still at war they just don't have an active battle going on right now, but anything can change at any moment so they need all the soldiers they can to be trained and ready to fight. It's been this way for decades so most fans of BTS knew this was coming eventually. And you're right if they enlisted 1 at a time we wouldn't have BTS as 7 members for around 7 years. I think their plan is the best plan if they have to serve. This way they can enlist pretty close together and release their solo projects without them overlapping each other too much. But make no mistake BTS want to be together for a long time and are still a group and they will comeback with a vengeance in 2025. I'm telling people to save their money now because those tickets are going to sell fast when they tour again. I would also check out their Busan concert they did last week. It was incredible and bittersweet know that was going to be their last concert together until 2025.

The government had been trying to decided for YEARS if they should exempt bts from the military, this was a highly discussed topic for YEARS and the members just ended up just choosing to enlist. The members are not all going at the same time, Jin will go first, then suga, then, jhope, then rm, then jimin, then taehyung and finally jungkook. Each member has to serve for 2 years, they aren’t going to be fighting in a war, they’ll just receive military training and stuff like that while they are over there. They will finally be 7 again in 2025. Jin is going to release his solo single “the astronaut” before he goes to the military. Also bts isn’t breaking up, right now they are focusing on their solo stuff, jungkook said this in his livestream.
You're an idiot if they go in one at a time and wait until one of them comes back, they would not be all back together and go on tour until 2033! And they announced that they would return together in 2025 so they're not all going to the military one at a time. Jīn for a year and a half if he goes in in January, he would be out around June 25 then Suga January 25 goes in and comes out in January 27 Jay Holt would get out in July 29 keeps going on like that my calculations are wrong it wouldn't be 2033 it'd be more like 2040 something. Actually, each member is going in after he releases his solo album all of them will be in the military by the end of 2023.
@@heyrobwest3908 did you read the weverse notice and articles that wrote what Hybe put out? Hybe already said they aren’t going together 💀 They are going according to their schedules, not together, Jin will go first and alone, then the other members will go according to their schedule/age.

So they basically are going together.

Yes the word TRUST was used by many of the members as if it was code…so that’s what we will do …they realized like we do that NOBODY is goin to GIVE them ANYTHING certainly not respect or merits for achieving the unbelievable or anything they have earned 10 times over ….you can see their story documented in videos as it happens and if you don’t believe it well it’s still happening!
During the Busan Concert RM asked for us to trust them. I do and will support them all during the time and will await 2025.💜

also all 7 will be releasing more solo music which they been doing for years along with group music. for now its only solo music theyll continue group music in 2025. and two years is really nothing were almost in 2023 already so itll be over quickly.
They themselves said it wasn't a hiatus, but a break in releasing group music so they can focus on their solo projects. They decided this before the pandemic forced them to push their plans back. Their company has stated that they have enough prerecorded content to last us until 2025.

There is a really good thread on Twitter about how the deferment, exemptions, and special services work within the South Korean mandatory military service. A lot of the controversy came from the so called “exemptions” or more accurately the special services. Olympic medalists, some IT workers, Asian Games competitors even when benched, e gamers, some sons of politicians, the current president and the current minister of defence never served or never “fully” served.
No, not all K-pop, just BTS. They were awarded a medal of cultural merit by their president a bit back and the only artists to have it.
When bts do something they have a plan jin will go first the others will follow but bts will maintain the fans entertained they have run bts jin have a song coming out , other solo projects are still coming too

They have prerecorded music prepared to be released while they are serving. The eldest member, Jin, was the first to enlist in December 2022. Suga joined the military in late 2022, J-Hope enlisted in April 2023, while RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook began their military service in December 2023. When they will be discharged
Jin: June 12, 2024,
J-Hope: October 17, 2024
Suga: June 21, 2025
RM: June 10, 2025
Jimin: June 11, 2025
V: June 10, 2025

They are not breaking up! They will go into the military one by one with a service length from 18-20 months dependent on the area in which they are assigned to within the military.
It sucks but it was expected and the best solace is that the guys are enlisting on their OWN terms & not under govt terms & ownership/manipulation. Jin is going first & they’ll be staggering their enlistment. We still have 6 solo albums coming out so we won’t be missing music from them. We just won’t have OT7 schedules until 2025.

Jin: 29 (will be 30 on Dec 4th)

V: 26 (will be 27 on Dec 30th)

I prepared my heart for this .. Since Jin turned 28 but they got exempted. I'm sad but not that upset. I will miss them performing live together. We will wait 💜

I think they have to do an 18 to 24 month service. And they are not going at the same time. We knew it was coming and they wanted to comply with it but Government had them for years waiting if they were going to be excempted from it. They got tired of waiting and not knowing. They got tired of being manipulated or played around, so they decided to go on their terms. At the end it is mandatory and we do not understand how serious is to live next to your enemy (North Korea). I wish this 2 years pass quickly. We are getting tons of content during this period. ARMY forever.
I watch BTS everyday 😊 so yes 4 videos would be awesome 💜 im really proud of them, the S.korean govt has been debating an exemption for so long, BTS has contributed so much to their country, i hoped for an exemption, but BTS decided to enlist and stop waiting, they are amazing role models for anyone -- i saw a vid showing when each member will be enlisting and then come back together as a group around 2025 -- ill be here no matter what, they'll be back strong 💜💜💜

We thought they would get a pass on the military because of all they bring to Korea from around the world. But government kept dragging out decision so BTS said enough and took into their own hands. IT SUCKS BIG TIME BUT I TRUST BTS.
Alot of people are mad because a famous piano player and a violist from south korea was exempted yet BTS isn't because they are a kpop group. A soccer team who won and the people who is benched who didn't even get to play in the match at all get a exemption yet bts isn't. What's even more disgusting is that the president of south korea and the current minister didn't even serve because they said they have some sort of rare eye disease and the son of the company naver didn't serve because he have some sort of rare bone disease so he can't do sports yet he post going to the gym, golfing, and swimming on instagram ? Just because BTS is kpop they don't get exemption yet a piano player and a violist get exempted? Also once you serve in the military. You belong to the military that means any earnings you made during the time release become to the military also south korea is known to make idols to sing political songs for them and perform for them without the right of refusing. Just last year a famous south korean comedian had to sing a very political song and he post about it later and in 24 minutes his post got deleted. They were waiting for the government decision for four years and during the four years tons of people hate them but BTS never even said they won't go in fact their label publicly push the government's decision two times but the government just drag it on it is the government that delay their military but people keep saying bts give the government a ton of money when suga even publicly dissed that situation in "what do you think" song where he talks about tons of companies using bts name without bts approval so their own idols can get military exemption. 28 companies attended this meeting meanwhile BTS their company HYBE did not join. 2) This is not suddent. All korean men have to serve. We knew since 2013.
3) They are not going together.
It is a thing in Korea so then K-pop idols are going to do the same thing too. ARMY knew about this and are not against it. Just the same case with the older male idol groups.
