We associate the "lone wolf" as strong and independent... in reality when a wolf is abandoned by its pack it is because they are sick weak or uncooperative. Lone wolves do not survive long on their own.
Not to mention that whole "alpha-beta male" bullshit idea is based on a study of wolves living in captitivity and no such behavior exists in packs in the wild. Even the author of the study has been trying to dispel this nonsense since the study came out.
People mention animals without even knowing about them. A lone wolf in the wild is one of the worst things to be. Lions and Tigers are just different animals and are in different areas on top of just being different. Some tigers live in areas with bears. They need the size they have and live in areas where being alone would be effective. I can go into a whole rant, but I'll stop.

I find it funny that he’s referring to lions and tigers. Tigers are independent, so a female tiger will only need a male for mating, and then leave. And female lions pretty much run a Pride (the way that the Lion King represents a Pride structure is horribly wrong), and there is no alpha, beta, sigma, or omega status in a Pride anyway. Even the typical way that we think how a wolf pack is structured is flawed. The alpha male and female of a wolf pack are simply the parents of all the other pack members. Comparing dating to animals is weird in general anyway
