One year, a fan got fatally stabbed by a rival fan in Athens - at a womens' volleyball match. I went to one basketball game, and I'm glad I did, but I don't know if I'll ever go to another. (OTOH, I loved Greece, and I hope to retire there - it's just different. Athens is a very cool city, if urban areas are your thing. I live in rural VT now, but grew up in NYC and spent 25 years in DC, so it's not a stretch for me.) BTW - love the video(s) - these guys lived it, and know what I'm talking about, as much as I an relate to their stories.

Suporters suports the clubs. Everything you've saw untill now and you talk about.. those are SUPORTERS. MEMORATE that. Suporters suport their team clubs for generations. Is a real life thing.. not a TV show like in the USA.
The US has teams that are owned by some rich guy or some hedge fund. Europe has clubs that are owned by the people in the area the club is from. Its not just supporting the team, its representing your home.

It's because they're picking out the worst and craziest things that happened to them. And those things happened. But in reality most of the times those rivalries, chants, flares, and coreographies stay in the stands and contribute a lot to the atmosphere and the spectacle of the game. It's amazing just for the supporters, I can't imagine what kind of experience for a player could be.

Well, Eastern Europe, Turkey and Israel is practically like 95% of European Basketball. The only other notable nation that cares about Basketball is Spain.
