- My love for European coaching antics is well documented on this channel. After you've seen them go on the sidelines here is a taste of how things go in the presser after the game has finished. A European coach has their A game on at all times.

@@user-of9mq5zf5m Might be. I watched Saras coaching Zalgiris, they are quite similar in this, looks like they really feel the responsibility and takes losing to heart. Pretty sure this is a light version of what he told players afterwards :D
@@JustinasGrazulis They are good friends. There's a short video of Željko and Šaras in a tavern in Serbia, when Željko orders a song from music and gives them money to sing a song about Partizan, and then Šaras takes out his wallet and gives money too.😀

Just listen obradovic's speech at 2:42 . Can you imagine that after this kind of speech Panathinaikos not only won the euroleague but to this day that team ( season 2008-2009 ) is consider one of the best teams european basketball has ever seen and by many, including myself the best...Can you imagine?

Fun fact most of these guys either played for or were assistent to Obradovic
One of my all time favorite coaches, Itoudis, was his right hand and turned out to be one of the biggest basketball brains in the league. That man's understanding of the game is really exceptional. From athletes to stuff, anyone who had the opportunity to work with Odradovic was blessed.
Meanwhile in NBA a player takes a contested 3 pointer from 9 meters with 14 seconds left on the timeclock. - Coach casually sits and claps-

Bullying reporters...Saras was top, because he had all the reasons to put the man into his place...Trinchieri, on the other hand, from a good question (which he did not want to answer), made a mountain out of a molehill: "Disrespectful", "Be careful"...bullshit
it was desrespectful to ask that question tho. When he said that it might have been disrespectful to the other team, he implied that his assistant coaches and other staff can't do a proper job without him, so you are basically questioning their competence.
@@kirihara147 What Trinchieri did was definitely disrespectful. And his unacceptable reaction towards the absolutely rational question on whether it was disrespectful or not shows that even himself (Trinchieri) knew that what he did was disrespectful. I am from Greece. In the Greek league for decades we have had 2 powerhouses, Olympiakos and Panathinaikos, competing against far weaker teams. There was a period of time when if one of those powerhouses didn't manage to win a game against those weaker teams by over 30 points, it was considered a failure. Nevertheless, under no circumstances did a head coach of Oly or PAO ever step aside and leave his assistant do the coaching. Trinchieri has serious issues...
If he ask a question, a journalist better be able to answer why he asked that question, simple as that. Don't ask things just because, you should think about it

Need more coaches like this in the nba.
These kind of coaches don't fit in todays NBA ... players are divas and coaches are "friendly step-father" figures.
Don't think that's possible. They would be fined, fired, dragged throughout media for "verbal abuse". All US would rise to spit on them, wouldn't stop talking about it for yrs. They behave the same toward athletes who play with passion, and give all on the court. Judging them every time they express emotions, start swearing, get angry at themselves, judge if it's unfair, stealing...none of that is allowed in modern world. Won't even start on judgment they get if they call on, thank God, express in any way they're religious. They expect people to be well paid, presentable robots, with no emotions, expressions, who need to watch every step not to offend others. You end up with "castrated" people, with killed drive for the game, fight. But it's not just US, it's slowly spreading everywhere. In few yrs sports will be so boring, annoying, unwatchable.
I will try to explain as simply as I can, why a European coach is not likely to coach an NBA team.
Example : The team is on a fast break and a player stops to take a three pointer, while he can go easily make the lay-up. The coach calls for a timeout the moment the player stops at the three point line. The team comes to the bench and the player who made the shot is sent to the locker room and the next day is on the trading list for just a future second round draft pick. Note : If the above incident took place a few years earlier, the punishment would also include psychical and psychological abuse.

@@thankyoujodi I think coaches like Itoudis and Saras could be very successful in the NBA because they are also players coaches. The traditional European coach would struggle to keep a job in the NBA because none of the NBA stars today would be down to getting yelled at by them on the bench :P
In Europe the coach has the first and last word, in the NBA right now it's different with the way stars are treated

Would be dragged troughout media for months, yrs. Anything more then well paid robots, with no emotions, expressions, who will not "offend" anyone, with no beliefs- it's a no-no. But, it's not just them, it's spreading everywhere. They're slowly killing drive in players, couches with all of that. Soon sports are going to be so bland, unwatchable.

You can have an argument of why an nba coach is better than a european coach. If you can not think of an argument you might have to agree with what that statement.

Dimitris Itoudis' (Greek coach) team (CSKA Moscow) had just lost a game against Baskonia team (Spain) after having so many complaints about bad referee calls, but still his only concern and main problem was the physicality of Olympiakos team (Greece) play...How would you call that? I just call it inferiority complex.
Εντωμεταξύ υπέρ σας είναι αυτό που είπε … κατηγόρησε τον προπονητή της μπασκονια , ότι «πως γίνεται ρε προπονητή της μπασκονια να κράζεις μια ομάδα ότι παίζει αντιαθλητικα και δεν τις σφυράνε τα φαουλ» ( λόγια προπονητή μπασκονια και οχι Ιτούδη ) και ότι αφού είσαι κατά αυτου πως γίνεται να κανείς το ίδιο πραγμα στο ματς μεταξύ μας ( τσσκα- μπασκονια ) και ποια είναι τα όρια του φαουλ στην Ευρωλίγκα . Εφιάλτες τον έκανε να βλέπει ο Σπανούλαρος! Τον έσφαζε η διατησία με τη Μπασκόνια και του έφταιγε το σκληρό παιχνίδι του Ολυμπιακού! Μην προσπαθείς να δικαιολογήσεις τα αδικαιολόγητα. Λες και έφταιγε ο προπονητής της Μπασκόνια που άφησαν οι διαιτητές το σκληρό παιχνίδι των Ισπανών. Έβγαλε απίστευτο κόμπλεξ κατά του Ολυμπιακού. Αυτός τον έκαιγε γιατί τον έτσουζε ακόμα η σούφρα του απτο περασμένο Final 4 και προσπαθούσε όλη τη χρονια να δημιουργήσει κλίμα εναντίον του τρόπου παιχνιδιού του Ολυμπιακού. Στο τέλος τα κατάφερε, έπαιξαν κιαυτές οι δηλώσεις το ρόλο τους, μαζί με κάποιους τραυματισμούς, και η ομάδα έμεινε εκτός play offs. Και για ποια μύγα μιλάς, ρε μόρτη? Ανέφερε το όνομα Ολυμπιακός σε συνέντευξη τύπου παιχνιδιού στο οποίο δεν έπαιζε ο Ολυμπιακός? Το ανέφερε. Άρα?? Φουλ κομπλεξικός! 'Ηξερε πως ο Ολυμπιακός την είχε την ΤΣΣΚΑ και το 2016 και φρόντιζε να δημιουργεί σε κάθε ευκαιρία (και αν δεν υπήρχε ευκαιρία, τη δημιουργούσε μόνος του) κλίμα εναντίον του.

I just hope European basketball will remain as such. I don`t want European NBA. Too much cry babies. Too much media influence. Too much woke shit. In Europe we like tough basketball, tough coaches and energetic crowd! We don`t want people chanting defense, defense like idiots. European basketball needs more money and that is all. Imagine Jokic, Doncic , Gianis, Sabonis, etc. playing in Euro league today. It would be a blast. But first, finances! We still have the spirit of basketball alive in Europe!
Finances come when you allow the game to be spectacular. Like the NBA did, bigger courts, extra steps with ball, no carrys…
