RX 6600M user here, i've tried everything under the sun, from installing every available drivers, uninstall and re-install the driver, disabling windows from downloading the driver and re install the driver for the 10th time, still nothing.
Here's where it started, it was after the last windows update that my driver start acting up, but at that time it was just need to be restarted and voila! it's there, now it just refused to work whatsoever, it keep crashing every time it detect the card (RX6600M), here's the weird thing, it was detected in device manager but not on task manager (possibly it's the freaking driver)
If anything this made me regret putting my trust (and money) to AMD, they always had this driver issues, i paid quite bit money for this laptop only to be disappointed in the end, users shouldn't be asked to do this much work just to use their device, damn AMD now I'm truly disappointed.

THE THING IS, No problem occurs if you are using Linux, so I am thinking It's Windows handling the driver problem

  • @johnbarnvill2197

I had the same problem using WIN 10 (clean install) and WIN 11 (upgrade only, I know, I know...).
I've tried all solutions proposed in diffferent forums - nothing changed. Remarkebly, I don' t play games etc. The timeout error inconsistently appeared in EDGE, Firefox and other browsers when movies started, as it usually happens on the starting page of EDGE.
Of course, I was concerned about a hardware issue...
Finally I tried the solution proposed as 'last solution' here more than one month ago: Uninstalling Raden drivers and Adrenalin software using the available uninstall tool.
Then using the Windows generic driver as 'emergency mode'. Using the Windows update function to automatically install the required AMD drivers.
The very annoying problem has gone!

AMD Software Adrenaline is what gives me the issues of timeouts. Installing just the driver removes that error. But no matter what version of the drivers I use, Windows11 disables the card and starts using the buildt-in gpu instead. Flickering screen and weird errors comming all the time.

At some point the issue just kept coming back over and over and over no matter what I tried. Card itself seemed fine, at least according to Adrenalin's "stress test" results.
Just now I instead tried reinstalling the drivers with a bleeding-edge version instead of current and installing ONLY the driver, not their dogshit software.

@@sajithsaji3606 Ended installing windows 11 and all my troubvles went away. Which leads me to believe it was a windows 10 issue since I had reinstalled windows 10 and the problem persisted.

Alright, this crap happened to me.
    Best solution?
    Buy Nvidia.
    NOT.
This issue crippled my RTX 3060 performance on Victus 16.
The solution that finally fixed it is System Restore to somewhere before windows update on latest April.
