  • I finally got around to installing this little lock for my helmet. I think it's a nice little addition and cool feature to the bike that will help to put my mind at ease when I leave the Helmet at the bike. Looks clean and meshes well with the bike styling in my opinion. They're offered in black and chrome so for all you chrome daddys with your CVO's you can install this and still look cool! Don't forget to check out my Instagram, and subscribe to the channel.....there are big things coming!

    Interesting little upgrade that installs cleanly and looks fairly decent. Nice find. I'm guessing it is one of those things that probably enjoys a little squirt of WD-40 every now and then; especially if you ever park your bike in the weather. But that isn't any different than any mechanical device that you leave out in the weather. I'm going to take a good look at my sissybar mounting and see if the bolts are 1/4x20; if they are I may grab one of these to try out. My helmet lives on my sissybar when it isn't on my head or in the house. Thanks for the idea. As you mentioned; locks are to keep honest people honest. You can't really stop a motivated thief; best you can hope for is to make your stuff more difficult to steal than he has time for.

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  3 года назад

      True man! sometimes a little hassle keeps them away. Y]It would work out nice if you could do the sissy bar mount. I think wd40 will help. I'll probably do it every month or two

    WOW!!! What a cool product! I'm currently using a Gun-Trigger cable Lock on my bike to secure my helmet, it's functional, but this thing looks awesome!! Granted $50 is a bit more than other options, but convenience is worth paying for, not to mention it's worthwhile to reward truly innovative companies by buying their new prdoucts. Thanks for making the video & showcasing the product. Impressive views so far!!
    Btw, I thought your video was good. I recently started publishing my own content (on a different channel than this acct) and I realize how difficult & time consuming the process is, so disregard the whiners below (but maybe increase your FF rate in future if poss).
    Lastly, I watched your review of the Bell Star helmet before purchasing mine and it was informative & helped me decide to buy it. Your video quality has improved since then too, (didn't really like the B-Roll @ start of Helmet review). Glad to see your improving the quality of your videos and keep em coming. If you upload relevant MC videos on a regular basis I'll happily subscribe.
    Lastly, Blue Loctite is a necessity w MC accys. Glad you took the time to show all steps of install & highlight the loctite for new riders who prob don't know, especially when it comes to products that come with lackluster instructions cuz there's lots of em these days and detailed install instructs are helpful.

      I've heard this more than once now & I'm hoping they fixed some issues or I just have better luck. The keys are pretty sturdy for me. I turned them fairly harshly and they didn't bend or anything

      Most won't, because once they cut it, the helmet is useless.

    WRONG on cutting the straps. The straps can be replaced on my Shoei GT air easily. If you are worried about your helmet then carry it with you.

      How easy?

    • @v2cz
      @v2cz 2 года назад +1

      Bullsh*t, you can't replace straps easily on any shoei helmet. If you want to have it fully functional, you have to put it to an authorized service center for new straps install. Btw not many people knows, that you can order any shoei with different brackets if you wish, however, the swap can be done only by certified personnel, you can't do it by yourself.. otherwise.. god bless ya when you crash

    Good lock but the finish is terrible, thin cheap paint that scratches off if you look at it wrong. Should have been Powder Coated for the price.

    They can just take some scissors and cut the strap.

      Yeah I know. I addressed that. This is not a bullet proof thing. It’s just another deterrent

    Easily defeated by cutting strap. People will say helmet straps cannot be repaired but this is wrong- leaving your helm vulnerable to theft when using the lidLock.
    Use a U-lock through the opening and around the chin of the helmet and secured to your bar.

      To each their own. And how would a strap be repaired to factory condition once cut?

    • @shano81
      @shano81 2 года назад

      @@RidinDad likely the strap will be cut close to the buckle to preserve length. (1) heat seal the frayed ends with a lighter (2) purchase equivalent nylon strap from REI or other climbing store (3) feed strap along previously cut section, loop through buckle (4) ensuring at least 8 inches of overlap, anneal straps with e6000 craft adhesive (5) reinforce with stitching (6) sew any section of fabric covering the nylon strap that you had to cut in order to perform previous steps
