Just watched this film for the first time. Rudolph's idealism shines through like a bolt of sunlight through a cloud, which, in fact, is how he ends the film. The Shout Factory blu ray has interviews from 2010 when all the participants reveal Rudolph's impact on them. Trouble In Mind was a true collaborative meeting of minds. What a beautiful film.
I know it's one of his lesser-known works, But I loved this movie RIP Kris. Rain City was my Gotham, Marienne Faithfull's smooth jazz was the icing on the cake.
As usual Marianne Faithfull inhabits the songs- she said that of how she feels about Tom Waits' Strange Weather- and I think she put it perfectly spot on as she always does. There is nobody like her. I can't imagine this film without her and wish she had gotten a cameo in it-
This film gets my vote as the best of the 20th Century, or any other century for that matter. It's a very rare one of a kind perfect gem concerning the real nature of life in this world which could never be duplicated. After viewing this film back in 1985 I could never bring myself to watch any Hollywood type productions again, for I knew that I had already seen the very best so why waste my time? Thanks to recoveringsuccotash for having posted this incredible soundtrack.

Thanks for posting the entire album from the sublime Mark Isham. I love the film, but the music really contributed to my overall feeling for this work. Alan Rudolph and company created a world out of our own, but still familiar. Isham's music here just completed the vision in the best way possible.
Very clever soundtrack they set the mood for the movie but the songs can stand up by themselves thank you if im feeling blue this song can have me in soft tears
All my life...I've listened to this music all my life! It goes back to my earliest memories! Wonderful memories! Love the soundtrack! Love the movie! Thank you so much for uploading this!!!
"The moment is yours child/to lay on the line....The past just don't matter/tomorrow won't mind" Genius from Kristofferson; amazing singing from Marianne Faithfull, and a wonderful arrangement and horn playing from Mark Isham. Goodbye and thanks Kris Kristofferson 29th September 2024
@@danielmorales1470 Not sure how anyone actually Rests in Peace (they have just been either incinerated or buried after all) but i totally agree with the sentiment and the warmth of that idea. Thanks Kris, a fond farewell, you did a fine job. Very fine indeed.
Thank you so much for sharing this music. I never saw the movie, only found this 3 years ago and listen to it out at this specific place far away from folks and alone in my thoughts.
I absolutely love this movie - especially listening to Marianne Faithfull sing “The Hawk.” Farewell, Kris Kristofferson 🖐🏾🥹

A True Masterpiece... One of Mark Isham's finest works! Adding Marianne Faithful was genius. A++++
What a wonderful soundtrack. The oddball film grows on you with repeated viewings, but the music by Isham is spun gold.
I love this film with all my heart - The fact it isn't available on 4K or even Blu-ray saddens me.

Just finished this movie, I didn't expect to like it but man was it a great watch, Beautiful soundtrack
His movies, aided by the music, were alternate worlds eerily similar to our own; replicants.
35:10 starts the finale, which is particularly good. If I had time I would list the start of each song. Thank you, recoveringsuccotash!

... anybody up for a shot of
"Cutter's Way"?
(vintage 1981)
Cutters Way is my favourite film
@@David-nb3ex Thank you David for your reply!
Cutters Way aka the evil twin of The Big Lebowski! No?
@@danielmorales1470 Absolutely!
I don't have much to harp about in this god -forsaken world, but I can admit that I appear in a film with Divine.

Trouble in mind, je suis bleu
Trouble in mind, je suis bleu
Trouble in mind, c'est vrai
Trouble in mind, je suis bleu
Trouble in mind, je suis bleu,
Is that a synclavier in there? Some of that reminds me of Zappa stuff, particularly around 27
I Can't be Certain, Perhaps Mark Isham or the Production Team Brought In a Mellotron😊 Noice🎉❤
Isham discusses some of this in his commentary on the DVD
