- Hi everyone, welcome to Abbey's Kitchen! In today’s video, we’re going to be reviewing Australian fitness RUclipsr, Chloe Ting.
Note:
Chloe's subscriber count has grown significantly since we shot this - my apologies I missed her amazing growth when I edited this video!
A few disclaimers:
1) The information in this video is for education and entertainment purposes only, so you should always speak to a health care provider about your unique health needs.
2) The recommendations for each individual meal I review is designed to give you a variety of ideas on how to optimize meals for balance, variety and satiety. Whether or not one individual meal or even one day is balanced or “healthy” does not matter in the grand scheme of ones health, especially if a person is eating in response to their physical and emotional needs. I give suggestions as examples and inspiration for you, but you can also gather this data for yourself over time by listening to your own body and figuring out what feels good.
3) Please be kind in the comments, here and on Chloe Ting's channel
4) TRIGGER WARNING: some graphics and discussions may be disturbing to some viewers so feel free to skip this video.
5) Don’t forget to subscribe to this channel and ring the little bell so you never miss out!

It seems like Chloe is one of the few fitness influencers who:
- truly eats a variety of foods
- eats portions which are not the usual toddler size portion you can see from her colleagues in the fitness space
- doesn't push the ridiculous idea that if you train protein powder shakes must be one of the staples in your diet
AGREE
For me, eating premium dark chocolate prevents overeating. I just can't stop when I eat regular milk choco.
Glad that works for you
Omg... Abbey, you don't like dark chocolate?? I love, love, love it! I love it so much my brain can't fathom how it can't be liked 😂 my kids even eat my 95 percent dark chocolate, the darker the better!
I find the same when I eat dark chocolate with lots of sugar compared to premium dark chocolate with less sugar. And I normally savour eating it more...
I like to eat gorgeous dark chocolate mixed with a few little bits of milk chocolate. I put it in a pretty little bowl and watch a show or RUclips and do my skincare face masks. 🍫🧖♀️💆♀️
Sweet! Also it’s good to try out regular and dark and very dark chocolate when you’re trying a new brand. I find that the taste can change so much and it’s good to know what you will like
I feel like Chloe definitely has a healthy approach to food and fitness, and although she uses the common weight loss 'buzz words', she clearly tries to promote a more positive and healthy mindset towards nutrition and exercise which is so refreshing to see!
Very refreshing!!!
Yes!!! Totally agree. I love watching her. Her vibe is 👌🏻👌🏻
I think she has a relatively healthy relationship with food. She has the privilege of not worrying about losing weight. With her current career, if she gained like 50 pounds, she would probably develop a problematic relationship with food. She does not represent the majority of the population due to less pressure from society to manipulate her body.
She's mentioned before that she uses those words like "burn calories", "fat burn", etc for views (money) which isn't a bad thing because she's gotta support herself somehow (I live for her workout vids at the moment).
Uh...couldnt u say that about any fitness channel?
I really like Chloe's diet! She actually cooks, and that food looks great! She doesn't need to make EACH meal balanced - they seem to balance out by the end of the day.
Yes!!
Chloe eats way more than I do daily and I'm probably close to twice her size. it's nice to see fitness youtubers who don't over-restrict. as someone who's getting back into fitness again and finds restricting super triggering, it's encouraging to know that the road to health isn't paved with deprivation
right?! thats why i really like her.
Chloe is so sweet. Can you believe she’s 34?! She looks soooo young!
Omg she really is? Crazy she looks like she’s around 20 lol
niftysheep I agree it is, I’m 30. I just think she looks like she is 20, I couldn’t believe it when I found out she was 34!
I thought she was 25 max she looks so young
What?????? Dang I’m shhooketh
she’s 34?????? well shit we found god’s favorite
I have suffered from orthorexia but I have to say, even when she talks about getting "shredded" I don't find her videos disturbing or triggering in any way. A few of her challenges have kept me sane during quarantine and I really like listening to her encouraging words midworkout. I get the issue with her programs' names but I do believe the issue to be bigger than a single influencer: that is the kind of programs people look for, and she has to make views, Noone would follow a program called "get slightly fitted in 28 days".
Agree with you🙌
Actually in her description box in videos she says her SEO names the videos like this to attract people
Totally get it! It doesn’t bother me either but I do know that it may not align with some peoples goals who want to get in shape but for whom getting shredded would not be healthy (arguably for most women it’s not healthy to get shredded tbh).
Mai Magdi yup she uses the titles as a way to draw people in, but in the videos she explains that no obviously not everyone is going to “get abs in 2 weeks” and she’s actually very reasonable, she’s just doing what she has to do to get views on RUclips unfortunately
@@Sierra-cl9xr yes I know
One of the reasons I love her
She is true and doesn't give vain promises
Abbey Sharp Yeah, but still most people and most women (I’m obviously I’m not talking for everyone but related to my own experience as a heavy gym goer for over 10 yrs and those close to me as a certified fitness trainer) are going to click more on a catchy name that promises fast results, though it might not reflect their personal goal, than on a less catchy video. The problem is bigger than a single youtubber. And I actually find her not only pleasing but really down to earth with her promises once you get past her catchy title.
Obv this doesn’t want to be a critique to your video and your reasoning Abbey, I’m here ‘cause I love your content, it’s just to point out the bigger problem also as a fitness enthusiast myself.
I love Chloe!! Such a sweet girl. The girls almost 40 but she looks like she's in her late twenties! Proof of her amazing lifestyle/healthy habits working.
I love Chloe Ting! She's completely changed my relationship with excercise. Her workout routines are so good and make me feel amazing. As a student I really appreciate her making them free on RUclips. I also see the dirt culture-y side of her but I feel like she's definitely moving in the opposite direction.
I agree!! I’m a fan!
Relationship is with people, not exercise...
Parapas stonga uh what? You can have a relationship with exercise in a different way then the actual meaning
@@ashtonsumpter676 Relationship's can't be held with inanimate objects or abstracta, anyone who uses such a classification is a moron and a snowflake : people pretty much use this "classification" to feel better about themselves due to their lack of something, which is a bit delusional and ingenuine with themselves. "Bad relationship with exercise" means "I don't/can't exercise due to certain criteria", but that "relationship" also implies that it is not just "your" fault that it's a "bad relationship", but also "exercise's" abstracta's. You get it?
Actually they can, it's been a correct way of phrasing for a long time now.
In other languages it might not be, but in the English language having a "relationship" with a mere concept is no longer just a mind-opening metaphor, it's common language and your efforts in debating that honestly seem a bit pathetic and wrongly informed.
Maybe in your native language a relationship is only reserved for people, but let's maybe not waste our time this pathetically telling people wrong information about their language.
Having a bad relationship with a concept like fitness doesn't have to equate to an excuse to never do it again, it just means that there are bad experiences involved and possible traumata to work on - like coming from a real relationship.
Maybe spend your time on better causes and research, then your future arguments might be right and of actual value to anyone.
I love the new format that you're trying! It helps place each meal in the context of the whole day. This helps reiterate that we're not perfect and each individual meal we eat doesn't have to be perfect. Thanks!
So glad!!
For the sweet drinks thing, I classify soda and Frappuccinos as dessert and that was super helpful. I don’t have that big of a sweet tooth but the sweet drinks were sneaking up on me and giving them an assigned meal really helped me reduce drinking them, reduce my sugar, and save me a bit of money lol without feeling like I was restricting myself
Love this !
That’s what I do! I have a single can of full sugar soda these days in quarantine and no longer crave dessert or think about having an alcoholic beverage. I actually have months old Ice cream in the fridge because I’m not thinking about other sweets.
This is kinda funny cause when I had my ED I barely drank any water and ONLY had soda (cause I couldnt stop craving sugary stuff) and now that I eat "healthy" amount of dessert and have a more intuitive and healthy way of approaching dessert I dont crave any more soda lol and barely crave candy etc. Its funny how changing a mindset or changing a little detail can have such a big impact
great tip thanks
Good idea.
Abbey,
I have the strangest request for you. Backpackers have to carry all of their food with them and they also use so many calories every day.
There is currently a food revolution going on in the Ultralight backpacking community. It's a love affair with fats and it's fascinating. The scientific analysis is being led by GearSkeptic and his videos are delightful.
His analysis is focused only on macronutrient ratios and I would love to have an actual RD weigh in. I honestly think he would too.
I also think it's an interesting break from the constant Instagram-culture, influencer-type videos that you have been doing such a great job with.
In many cases, thru hikers are going out for months and the challenge of packing enough food, sports nutrition, and what is termed food exhaustion is a real challenge.
This is fascinating to me because at its core, this is the same problem you have with rockets and airplanes. Carrying more fuel costs more fuel
Sounds very interesting actually
@@kimberlyw2591 Right? I am willing to bet GearSkeptic is an engineer or scientist in his day job because of his lens on the fuel to weight issue.
I suggested a hiking food video too a while ago. This would be interesting.
Love this comment.
Anyone else watch these videos and imagine what she'd say if she reviewed your diet for a day? I can already hear the sodium lecture I'd get 😂
as a person with SIBO, literally everything bloats us. a single sip of water? bloated. not to mention the sugar cravings are more extreme.
I recommend watching GojiMan! He has some vidoes on how to heal SIBO and people who have healed SIBO on a vegan diet!
@@hj8756 vegan diet makes it worst
I have SIBO, IBS and Gastritis, I used to be a vegan which made it a lot worse. Digestive issues suck!!
😫😫
Jusf remember guys, being vegan it's not only about food. Veganism is about protecting the animals so you can keep being vegan at other aspects of your life and still helping. Also consuming organic animal products that came from farms or places that brings them a good life it's an excellent way to help. ♥
Omg when you gave the example of instead of fulfilling your craving, going from the substitute to rice cakes to berries to low cal ice cream....wow yup I felt that 😂 I am guilty of that SO often
It’s very common
Omg I do that whenever I am cooking dinner and go against the food I am craving and then I eat everything in the house and dinner 😂
@V King froyo with dark chocolate and strawberries can be pretty damn satisfying. Or a strawberry greek yogurt smoothie instead of a strawberry milkshake. Although sometimes I just want a boozy shake, so I make one and then fall asleep because I might be overweight, but I'm still a lightweight
I keep going back to the whole sugar thing. Don’t people generally eat too much sugar on a daily basis because sugar is addictive and often found in a lot of food without you realizing it. I think wanting to eat less sugar shouldn’t be an avoidance of your cravings but a goal towards better overall health. Sure have a cookie/ice cream once a while without guilt but learning to enjoy foods without or less/natural forms of sugar takes time too.
Yeah that was the only problem I had with the video but I think it’s because Abbey couldn’t fit everything in. Chloe focuses a lot on lowering her sugar intake on the recommendation of her GI doctors for her SIBO. Even for the average person, I think lowering sugar intake should be important, less for weight loss and more for overall health.
Thanks for sharing
You are right
I love Chloe's free workouts and she is very balanced so I'm excited to see what you have to say! I'm already "mmhmm"ing along with you as you said she's very moderate in her advice for less sugar. 👌 I've been watching a lot of your reviews lately and really enjoying how kind but honest you are! It's motivating me to keep reaching for healthier but not feeling guilty about carbs. ❤
So glad!!
Carbs, do you mean cals. If not it still makes sense but i was just curious
I know you are super close to your due date, I wanted to wish you a happy and healthy birth xxx
Thank you!
I have POTS so I need to consume a whopping 7,500 mg of sodium a day, plus around 3 liters of water, or I faint every time I stand up. The bloating is real and everlasting. Doesn't stop me from achieving great things. My tip to others who experience bloating as a result of a medical condition: do whatever you can to be as healthy and happy as you can and if anyone suggests that you need a flat tummy to accomplish that, say f*ck 'em and move on.
yessssssss
I went through this for 6 months when I was pregnant. My blood pressure would tank every time I stood still or stood up too quickly. I cant even count the amount of times I ended up lying on the floor. I cant imagine going through that dail, long term. You are strong AF
I also have POTS and my doctor has me having 10,000 mg of sodium and a gallon of water!! I also struggle with wanting a flat tum but I know that it's probably not gonna happen
I have Crohn's disease and am bloated 24/7 and i SO appreciate this comment
@@b2h316 That must have been so scary to go through while pregnant! Yikes! At least I'm used to it, so when I do get pregnant, I'll have years of experience dealing with it. If there's a bright side, it's that I really have to focus on being aware of my body and its needs. Not everyone gets a body that enforces self care as much as mine does!
I love Chloe - I've been following her since she was around 100k & have been so proud of her success. I remember bonding w/her via comments about our mutual love of liver lmao. She's the influencer that I think has the most similar taste in food to me, so I love her food videos for the inspo ❤️
😊👍
I think it's super important to note that not everyone has the time or resources to cook a "proper meal." A meal that contains some pre packaged ingredients for convenience is just as proper as one cooked completely from scratch 🙂 At the end of the day we're still providing our body with energy.
Totally!!!!
Absolutely. There's no shame to go 50/50 or 25/75 or whatever ratio with packaged and fresh
+1
i find that when i used to crave dr pepper or coke, it was mostly just the carbonation. i was able to replace that with sweetened sparkly water and now la croix and bubly satisfy it. but thats just me
Similar here! I used to have a soda every day 🤯 and weaned myself by swapping it for sparkling water with a splash of 100% fruit juice
Acknowledging when I'm about to start a "craving scavenger hunt" has helped me so much, mentally and physically. It's so much easier (and healthier) to just eat what I was craving and move on with my life.
Glad that works for you!
did you guys see in the beggining when abbey said "she has over 3 millions suscribers" when she has almost 13 million subscribers?? i mean i guess that is over 3 millions subscribers?
Seems pretty likely she just misread from a script
I really enjoy her workouts because they’re not full of body talk - she talks about feeling the burn or focusing on a muscle but she never talks about working off your fat or earning your abs or budging the scale or any of that stuff when I’m trying to focus on learning to respect my body as is.
👍👍
I love Chloe Ting. She’s so cute and I love doing her workouts, especially when the gyms are closed.
😊👍
Me too
I love that you make these reviews educational instead of picking the person apart like someone else we know. I’ve learned a lot about myself and food these past few months.
So glad they are helpful!
I love Chloe she's got me into fitness again 🙏❤
😊👍
Great analysis of her food choices and advice! Only thing I would say is that Chloe's last tip on the sugar craving video was to drink water and you said it wasn't proven to help with hunger, which is true, but it definitely does help with cravings related to food you want, but aren't actually hungry for, which is what the video directly addressed.
Thanks for sharing
I think it’s always a good idea to eliminate or substitute coke. Soda is literally One of the worst things to consume and I think we have to be careful with the idea of coddling ourselves too around behaviors that we qualify as “satisfying” but in the long run aren’t actually good for us. Like I’m all for balance but if a coke lover can get it down to once a week and eventually cut it out, I can just about guarantee, the benefits of how you feel will outweigh the initial stages of craving and seeking “satisfaction” (these feelings go away) which is literally just different ways of describing the total addiction to these manufactured foods. If you like chocolate, even getting up to 55-60% dark is an upgrade imo. In my experience Chloe didn’t contradict herself at all, because the more we practice better habits the less we crave the foods/drinks that have been proven to damage our health/bodies. Overall message seems balanced. Love the series.
Thanks for sharing your perspective
Drinking one coke a week isnt going to damage your body. Also i went from a heavy pop drinker and i feel no different having cut out soda. Meaning i am just as healthy now as i was when i was a soda addict
Completely agree! I use to be a heavy Coke drinker. I got braces and then I cut cold turkey. I tried to drink Coke again after having the braces off, but frankly it didn't hit that "satisfying" spot anymore. I felt better not drinking it and I'm not as sluggish. It's hard for me to drink any soda now a days. If I get any carbonated drinks its just water.
@@blackarchon8778 While it's good to see the spectrums of experience I believe yours is an outlier statistically. For the overwhelming majority of people that will encounter this comment, cutting out sugary sodas will benefit their health. Exceptions are not rules, and often that can muddy the waters for the larger population when an exception is presented as an equitable alternative, contrary to evidence pointing to otherwise. Sugary sodas (and excessive sugary intake in general) can also be detrimental to your dental health as well. It's important to look at health holistically because it affects you holistically. So while your dietician might say "Go ahead keep drinking a cola every day, as long as you are getting all your nutrients and you feel good." They can only speak for your diet, they are not trained in dentistry, internal medicine, dermatology, or psychology. Abbey "expert" in nutrition only, and even then you'd need a second opinion. She is not trained in other medical fields so check with all your doctors before determining whether or not something is having negative effects on your health.
@@AbbeysKitchen I know you probably won’t see this, but my mom has lupus and she had to pick pepsi or coffee for health reasons because caffeine makes her flares worse. She ultimately gave up pepsi, but personally I don’t see why you have to cut it out completely unless it’s making you sick, like it was for my mom. And my mom did end up falling in love with carbonated water and sweet tea (decaf)
Been doing her workouts has been a major kick up the bum for me!! Been loving the routine it’s been able to get me in!!!
So glad!
Me too😊
And we have the same name
"Stevia instead of powdered milk." Many East Asians are lactose intolerant.
Not true at all
i love how people are saying this isnt true even tho there is a genetic basis/ literal studies on it online lol
Sonia Sharma they are bogus especially considering the fact East Asians consume/produce mote milk than other countries
@@girlwhoseeks Sure...some cheese and yogurt. Milk for school lunches too, but not as much milk for adults. My wife laments that she could drink milk with her school lunch just fine but, as an adult, can't even add a little to her coffee.
Not every Asian is lactose intolerant, and not everyone of European descent is not, but it is a real thing for many people.
@@soniasharma5860 One would expect a registered dietician to know that, but Abbey seems very afraid to accidentally offend anyone. She would not like any comments like the ones here, so of course she just didn't mention it.
Some studies show 100% of those living in South Korea to be lactose intolerant and 73% of those living in Japan: milk.procon.org/lactose-intolerance-by-country/
oh holy christ, chloe has gained 10 million subscribers in the last six months :o
Wow!
I’ve been watching her for a while now and her workouts are killer 😂 but I’m glad you reviewed her diet. As a Food Science person myself I was very curious about your opinion. I think as far as fitness RUclipsrs go she’s definitely on the less toxic end of the spectrum. Only thing I have a problem with is the occasional diet talk. But we’re not perfect so. 🤷🏻♀️ Love your videos ❤️
Totally agree!!
her workouts are killer for someone who's new to working out or doesn't work out often
Picante J If you incorporate extra weights or do more than 2-3 rounds like I’ve been doing they are killer man you gotta try it to see 🤷🏻♀️

The coffee next to the laptop makes me so nervous

I'm allergic to barley and rye, but suffer through some cross contamination because gluten-free bread tastes like disappointment (imo).
LMFAO! Accurate and hilarious. GF bread saves me from a slow death but it's so hard to find a good one!
Try canyon house bakery bread! I usually find it at target by the vegetables and pastries. I have celiac and literally don’t miss bread because of it

Thank you so much!
I personally don’t like milk chocolate lol. It might just be that I haven’t really tried any nice high quality milk chocolate, but I always prefer dark. I’ve been loving the Lindt 70%!! Dark choclate is so goodddd and the Lindt is so nice and snappy I would totally reccomend.
Why does she say “with over 3 million yt subscribers” and the screen recording shows 12 mil 😂 why am I the only one who notices that
Sorry it was filmed a while ago and looks like she’s grown a lot
I mean 12 mil is more than 3 million so really nothing's wrong haha
@@ggracelii If you had an 10 incher schlong and the girl you banged would say "yeah he is over 3 inches" would kinda blow. Doesn't give the person the credit he deserves, diminishes it in fact
Parapas stonga she’s like days away from giving birth. It’s a prerecorded episode. Let it go. Also 10 inches can be terrible if they aren’t very good in bed.
She's gained 10 million subscribers in the last six months, so even if this was only prefilmed a little in advance, the number could easily be way off!
i think a lot of these tips were to help you get off of sugar addiction and such. she never says to never drink coke again, she said to try and lower the amount. with the sugary drinks tip, yeah maybe one a day or a few a week is fine, but if youre having like 3 a day, replacing 2 of those with fruity water is great!
I have never been so early!! Thank you so much for reviewing her! I always enjoy hearing and listening to your perspective, hope you have a nice day!!! :)
So glad it was helpful!
Coconut flour and almond flour cannot be high FODMAP grains because neither coconut nor almond are grains 🙂
Anyway, they cannot be cosidered as high fodmap (and are even not listed as high fodmap in the official chart) because the amount always matters and makes a huge difference as well as the individual tolerance is different for everyone (even for those with SIBO) and makes a huge difference if one tolerates it or not. Which actually implies to any (FODMAP) food.
I just wanted to add it as I am functional medicine practitioner and have been specializing particularly on digestive health (which is the gateway to health 🙂).
Thanks for sharing!
@@AbbeysKitchen Thanks for answering! It was not a critique, just an addition of information 🙂
Btw. Abbey, I wrote you a comment under your YT post a week ago about the Greg's video. It was about important aspects lacking in his diet and approach (which you even did not criticise but definitely could/should!). I thought you would find it interesting...so I wish you read it...?

Would you do an updated review on Sarah's Day? I know her lifestyle and diet has changed a lot since your last review and am curious to see your thoughts. Maybe like a comparison video of the two reviews. Chloe makes eating so much fun and gives me so many great ideas. I love her videos.

Anyone noticed how she turned off the count of likes and dislikes.....
yea after she caused misleading information about diet as a dietician. Mainly the fiasco with Greg Doucette.

Thank you!
Love these videos! Can you maybe do a video on how to lose weight whilst being bodypositive and accepting of yourself and/or with a past of disordered eating? I "need" to lose a little weight for health reasons but am scared my ED might come back by trying to.
Just eat foods you like and be in a 200-300 caloric deficit, drink a lot of water and eat a lot of fiber so you’ll be full most of the time :)
Thanks for the suggestion. I have these videos on my channel you might find helpful: ruclips.net/video/oNHLgIJBOqY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/0r9Rmj9PTgU/видео.html
I‘d love a video review on the “down to earth” Netflix episode on diets of people who became over the age of 100 :)
Agreed!
Thanks for the suggestion
Hey Abby, perhaps you have a video like this already, but would you have some basic meal plans starters as a guidance to the intuitive eating journey?
Thanks for the suggestion!
'Intuitive eating' aka eating. Since when has it become such a big thing to learn how to just eat normally? Hungry? Eat. Not hungry? Don't eat. Want chocolate? Eat some. Feeling like you're lacking veg? Eat a salad! Summertime? Eat more delicious fresh fruit. Etc etc. Is is THAT difficult?!
I am so glad that you did this one! Hope you're doing well Abbey
😊❤️
Not eating any added sugar actually helped me so much with my irritable bowel syndrome. I had huge problems with it over the past 2 years, sometimes I wouldn't make it to the bathroom in time, and since avoiding added sugar completely and taking probiotics from my doctor, I finally can go to the bathroom like a normal person and feel so much better. I still crave sugar and sugary snacks, nut I know they will actually impact my health in a really negative way, so I don't think completely cutting out for example sugar, always has to be a bad mindset when it comes to diet culture, but sometimes it is just necessary for your health.
Can’t wait to hear what you think of her diet! From what I have seen I think it’s pretty good:)

@@prettyinpink9893 me too! I think it's rather sad somabody has such lower self-esteem and high ego to actually send people to bully those who, very politely, disagree with him.
Why do you think every dislike or disagreement she gets are from his fans? Do you think people can’t think for themselves? Or do you want to blame someone for every dislike or disagreement she gets? I like to point she did say she gave misleading information on that video about him. UnIntentionally but misleading anyway so don’t understand why you think she should not get backlash for it
Wait you must have filmed this a while ago! She now has 13 mil subscribers and counting!!
Oy I did film it so long ago
Whenever I have eggs, which is usually for breakfast, I get facial swelling. i haven't eaten eggs for a month now and when I don't have them for bfast I end up having nothing (for that time of day). Is there any way i can manage this? :(
Sometimes SIBO is also accompanied by SIFO (candida overgrowth), which might be why she is cutting back on so much sugar.
I was waiting for you to review Chloe Ting! Thank youuu🙏 love hearing your reviews
😊👍
Thank you for looking at an influencer who lives with SIBO! It's so nice to hear this spoken about. Sending love x
Glad that was helpful!
Could you review Linda Sun’s videos? I think she has a great mindset and would love to hear you opinion!
I'll have a look
Abbey Sharp thanks so much!😊
Can you react to misstiffanyma’s what I eat in a day? She posted it recently and it’s definitely triggering
On the list
Her videos definitely come off as disordered :(
Happy Simcoe Day Abbey! ......I must admit I like Chloe.... I didn't want to LOL...but she really is sweet...and then she kills you with a workout! Well, she got me off the sofa, in July, even with all those hot & humid days we had. I like that she shows modified versions of her workouts and I hear her cheering me on for improving form or stamina.
Glad you enjoy it!
I'd love to hear your opinion on practicing intuitive eating while on SSRI. I know a lot of people report intense hunger and cravings for sugar-rich foods. Thanks.
Thanks for the suggestion
I have had an unhealthy relationship with food since I was 8 years old and your videos have been a really positive influence in the journey to respect my body
I'm so glad!
There is a really expensive dark chocolate with salt and caramel chunks thats literally the nicest chocolate, i always see it as a treat ❤
Sometimes her diet looks very low carb because she’s preparing to film a workout program so her muscles show more, or so she has said. Some of her videos include this disclaimer in the beginning 😄😄
Great video! I’ve been doing some of her workouts because they’re easy to jump into and good for when you don’t want to spend too long on one thing, but I’ve been a little specticle because of the things you mentioned - video titles, the kind of clickbait associated with it, etc. Glad to see that she’s not touting extensive diet rhetoric in her food videos. Thanks for the review!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm quite intolerant to tomatoes but I still sometimes eat them. I love a good tomato sauce and I know how much I can have without feeling completely horrible. Sometimes a bit of discomfort later is just worth it to me. I think I'm allowed to make that decision for myself haha
26:31-26:59 XD Cute, Abbey. I like that you left both versions in, it’s kind of a “No one is perfect” type thing, and I love it.
I just want to say, too, that I do think that letting yourself enjoy the foods that you crave is awesome, and I’m glad you emphasized that while discussing Chloe’s second day of meals. Personally, I go with the “all things in moderation” approach - if I have a craving for something like chips or chocolate, I grab a small amount first and enjoy that. If I want more, great! If not, great! I find it’s better for my mental and physical health in the long run.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for the video! You aren’t scared to say what you are thinking and stay honest. I applaud you for that! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!
I’m vegan and I love tofu but when I have it regularly it messes up my period, either it goes missing or when it comes, I have horrible cramps. I do eat beans and lentils but are there any other ways to get more protein in my diet?
Also do you have a video that tells the recommended amounts/percentage of fats, carbs, protein, etc?
When I was a vegan, I was also working with a nutritionist for a little while and I ate lots of beans, nuts, TVP and whole grains. You have to always have a combination of these proteins and whole grains to form a whole protein. Although some say if your diet is balanced you don't need it at each meal. I made Caribbean red beans and rice with coconut milk and steamed cabbage and some kinda chilli or Mexican beans basically every week. I also had whole wheat couscous with almonds and veggies quite often. But yes definitely don't do too much soy - the over-reliance on soy/meat substitutes is why I ended up going vegetarian then back to a full meat eater. The sodium was so high and the hormonal impact was awful. I was just as unhealthy, but that was me. I regularly have meat free meals, but meat isn't cut out.
Edamame, pumpkin seeds, peanut butter, almond butter, quinoa, kale, chickpeas and falafel
Kalaida Marie thank you, Anytime I get a meal plan to try to lose weight they want me to eat tofu because it’s a lot of protein and no carbs and I don’t want to rely on fake meats. But I’m working on getting out of the diet mentally and feeding my body whole foods in hopes that it gets to a more comfortable weight...along with being active. I’ve made seitan before but it’s a process to make. I think TVP is still soy but I’ll look into it. Thanks!
Sara A thank you I eat a lot of those except edamame. I believe it’s soy as well.
This was really interesting! It was so fascinating to hear about the needs of someone with a specific digestive disorder. I wonder, could you possibly consider doing a video on Crohn's disease? It has such a massive effect on the sufferer's diet, and I would love to better understand it!
Thanks for the suggestion
Everyone's mentioning the workouts are amazing. I'm intrigued to check it out
👍
They are!! They’re super challenging but she gives lots of alternatives so people at all levels can participate and is super sweet and encouraging!
คริส ดี
It’s great for beginners but not people are already fit
Danh Hoang hard disagree🤷🏽♀️
Please do a video on amenorrhea!! I’ve been recently diagnosed. I’m an athlete and I can’t stop working out :(
You can. You are so strong.
But it can literally put your heart at risk to stay in amenorrhea.
This article does a great job of covering the risks and could be something you can walk through with your doctor or health care provider.
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6374026/
Becca in Denver I work out every day. I’m going to stop working out at home, but as an athlete, I’m required to go to practice, then to weightlifting 4 days a week. I’m giving myself free reign on food. Do you think this is a good plan? I don’t expect you to know if it is or not, but thank you for your reply!❤️
@@calsesachica6312 Honestly, your doctor and athletic trainer need to talk. Given your diagnosis, they can decide what is safest for you.
Either your doctor or trainer can put you in contact with a dietician who can help you come up with a plan to get to a healthier body fat/body weight. Or might have a plan. My primary care doctor was able to give me a specific diet when I needed it for allergies.
You can do this. You have to do this. For the body that serves you so well as an athlete, you have to take care of it right back.
I have a video on my channel you might find helpful: ruclips.net/video/WbjcQ3_zhR4/видео.html
I love how you said losing weight connot be reduced to a simple mathematical equasion
I’d really like to see your opinion on the food claims made by Dr. Anthony Youn. He’s a plastic surgeon, and I really love his content because he’s a very positive, sweet person, but some of the claims I’ve seen him make and the way he’s made them concern me.
What exactly do you mean? I watch him too but didn't see hin talking about food actually (somehow)
I found something actually rn - do you mean the soda is poison thing? (i think he's just over simplifying but thats problematic in a different way)
depressed cockroach he actually has a fair number of food related videos, I don’t watch them much, but the ones I have and some of the community posts he’s made (like soda being poison...) sounds very diet culture-y. I don’t watch him for his food content, because I’d rather watch people who specialize in food for that information, but he is a doctor so I know people will listen to him when he says things like that.
depressed cockroach it’s not just that but that was on my mind when I saw Abbey posted a new video
Seems strange for a plastic surgeon to comment about food.
Could you please do Bobby Parrish- Flav city. I've been obsessed with his grocery halls and would love to see your opinion on his meals and food choices. This was very informative and I love how you have such an unbiased approach to reviewing along with tips to clarify certain things. Thank you!
Don't be shy, Show the Likes vs Dislike Bar.
Just wanted to say that I’ve seen your videos improve soo much in the past 6 months that I’ve watched you! As someone who’s going to school to become a RD I really appreciate your videos!!
I'm so glad!
Thank you I have been waiting for this! Could you do Pamela Reif next because I also really love her and would like to see if she is eating well. Thanks!!
I'll have a look!
I'm in a much better place now, but years ago I used to swear by the "9 times out of 10 you're just thirsty, not hungry" to overlook and skip snacks and meals. I've never heard it be debunked before, and sometimes I still find my mind wandering there. Thank you for that information.
So glad that was helpful
People are being so cruel in the comments, sorry if your fitness RUclipsr got a “bad” review, literally get over it.
Tea
A bad review full of cherry picking and baseless accusations. Maybe you should try giving these fitness youtubers a watch?
Jack Rodriguez no ♥️
bing binger I didn’t say you couldn’t ♥️
Can’t wait till they eventually give up. It will blow over. Abbey has handled it well.
Hey Abby!! I hope all is well. I have been a vegetarian since I was 12 and I turned 16 a few days ago do you think I should be taking supplements and things as such. I really don’t want to and is it possible to continue being a vegetarian with out taking them. Thanks for your time.
You absolutely have to, at the very least, take a b12 supplement if you don't eat meat. I would really recommend speaking to a doctor (ask your parents if you have a family doctor) and ask for advice, and potentially be tested for deficiencies associated with vegetarianism. I get not wanting to take supplements, but it's a very small pill, and it'll go down easier if you take it with yoghurt or a sweet drink rather than water. It also gets easier as you get used to it.
You are doing so great! So much work!!!
Thank you!
🙌🏼❤️ abbey ! The suggestions in the description box are amazing!
So glad!
I LOVE her workouts! I'm currently doing her 3 week get fit challenge
😊👍
Hi Abbey! I’ve noticed that you read my comments and I would LOVE if you reviewed Chloe’s recent what I eat in a day videos, since I think her mentality towards food has changed, but some friends of mine think she still has some diet culture ideas and I’m worried if it’s true my sister picks up on that because watches her all the time and does her workouts. Has Chloe Ting improved her channel since this review? ¿Or has she turned into any other fitness influencer?
something weird is going on with the audio whenever you showed the clips from Chloe‘s videos. It sounds like there are two songs playing at the same time or something and it‘s super distracting and makes it hard to understand what she is saying. Sounds to me like it‘s your standard song over another one that she probably already had in her video. But loved the video anyway 😊
I felt the same way. It actually sounded kind of creepy.
Thanks for letting me know
I do enjoy Chloe Tings videos more especially her work out however I find them tough to do. I find that Jessica Smith from Jessica Smith TV are so much more friendlier and empathetic. Her approach to her audience is wonderful so she is also a favourite of mine.
I looove 99% chocolate by Lindt, not forcing myself hahah (:
amazing then eat up!! i wish i liked dark chocolate, but i just cant. lol
Hey Abby :-) I would be really interested in hearing your take on people who deliberately decide to cut out gluten for health reason, while not having a diagnosed gluten issue.
Gluten has become the new "bad guy" in dieting culture.
I am a medical student and frequently hear GI-doctors who are worried about this tendency, saying that it is mostly bullshit and potentially harmfull, because it only makes more people cut out many important nutrients.
Here in Denmark we have a pretty healthy bread tradition, the most common lunch is based on whole rye bread, and even "white" breads are usually made with whole wheat and and seeds. So the general recommendation here is to include high fiber whole grain foods, including wheat products, in your diet.
I watched the video you made (about 3 years ago?) where you kinda said gluten sensitivity could be a thing, but according to the doctors I have been talking to it has never been actually proven.
Now I could see that your recipes often times are glutenfri...
Would you have time to clarify in a dedicated video, maybe? :-)
Thanks for the suggestion!
Gluten is not necessary. Removing it can be socially hard and inconvenient, but maybe people without diagnosed celiac disease feel much better on it. Additionally gluten is linked to several autoimmune diseases.
Omg I just started one of workout programs and watched this video earlier today. Love your videos Abbey!! Please if you can, do Niomi Smart, Nina Montagne or Lindseyrem??? 🙏🏽 thank you!
Thanks for the suggestions!
all of Chloe's food looked tasty!! also, had no idea you didn't like dark chocolate Abbey. can't wait for your metabolic video.
😊👍
