I also made my friends and family eat as much as they could when they were with me just so I knew that they were okay and not like me. I tried to give my friends confidence idk :/

As someone who struggles with binge eating and dieting, I am constantly thinking about food and what others eat. A lot of what I eat in a days are from disorder eaters because they are very careful and orderly about what they eat, whether it’s safe or not. People with care free diets don’t seem to really think about their food which is why you don’t see many normal what I eat in a days.

As someone who has had past struggles with disordered eating, I think a lot of people who struggle with it may feel the need to prove something as it often happens to people with lower self-confidence, and since restrictive eating is about control, sometimes the disordered thoughts make you look for recognition or admiration for that level of control that you're holding yourself to. I don't in any way condone sharing videos like this that may cause harm to others, but I also think it's important to acknowledge that if someone is going through an eating disorder, their rational thoughts and morals are often overridden by the desires of their eating disorder

I saw a video of hers once the "what i eat to gain weight" i was like okay she looks like she need to gain weight... And in the video, of of the food she eat was one small pita bread and people are commenting "she only eat one?? Too little" and she defended her self by saying she actually ate another one of camera....and im like gurl that is still so little, and it's sad that she thinks 2 pita bread is a lot "to gain weight" already 😭
I used to be overweight so i eat less to lose em weight but i still eat more than her "gain weight" diet...idk if she's aware that she got problems yet or not...if she is, it's better if she do not share her unhealthy eating habits tho...share the healing process instead

As someone who has a history of anorexia...this comes across as someone deeply in denial of an unhealthy/disordered relationship to food. Of course I have no way of actually knowing, but I’m very puzzled by this textbook definition of a dieter claiming her weight loss was unintentional. And while the candy may be a “refreshing” change from wellness youtubers, it’s also common for people to crave more refined sugar while restricting.

as a person who struggles with an ED i noticed that too, and as i got further along i also noticed something else about these more sugary foods-identical characteristics to what i’ve often done throughout my disorder: she seems to eat sweet sugary foods (what would be calorically dense-in number not nutrition-if she ate bigger servings) in SMALL doses, with slow eat times, and counts the calories of just those small sweets before moving on ... because she’s suffering from certain malnourishments and probably smaller forms of extreme hunger. whenever i’ve gone too long without regular calorie intake, i’ll start to want sweets, sugar, candy, etc and i’ll eat it in small bits just to not feel guilty or get stuffed from it (when your body’s very hungry and you eat a normal amount of something, especially something sweet sugary or acidic, your stomach immediately hurts) ... it’s really really sad to watch

The sugar addiction was something I started experiencing during the worst part of my ED. I’m still suffering from an insane hunger for sugar and caffeine 24/7 in my recovery. I’d avoid eating normal foods and portion sizes because they were actually satiating and made me uncomfortable but multiple small servings of sweets everyday would “prove” to people that I couldnt possibly have an ED because I’d eat them all the time.

I’m in eating disorder treatment right now and idk how anyone can eat this way, obsess over food this much, and not have an ED or need help for disordered eating. I call bullshit. Also when you listed all the symptoms people who have dieted endure, that’s me. Thank you for correcting her misinformation.

She did mention that the RUclipsr revealed that she DID suffer from an ED. She may have been in remission and recovery before but clearly slipped back into an ED. It’s very messy when you have an ED to notice when you’re going back to old habits when they are so innate plus it’s hard for them to really know what’s okay because she’s probably have had to have a therapist and dietitian explain to her what is “normal”

Many of Tiffany's tips and food choices are common to people who have eating disorders. I practiced many of these behaviors myself when I was eating disordered. Some of the red flags include: craving sugar carbs but limiting fats, counting bites and making the food last a long time, counting calories obsessively, constantly telling herself how 'full' she is, odd food combinations, working out on an empty stomach, and not eating until as late as possible.

Yeah... When she was talking about making sure to take tiny bites and chew it a lot, that is taken from a page straight out of the pro Ana community.
I remember when I first was in that community as a teen, someone making a post about taking a protein bar, cutting it into a bunch of small bites, and when you get hungry or “tempted to eat”, just eating one of the bites, and slowly having just that protein bar through the day, for the whole day. I used that for years. The licorice thing was super reminiscent of that, especially paired with the talking points of “losing weight” from doing so, and being able to “feel full” faster. Yikes, man.

I'd say just ask her how she is doing. Don't mention her eating habits or weight, just ask her how she is feeling emotionally and if something is bothering her. For me, my eating disorder was more a symptom then the issue itself. I was dealing with trauma and controlling food was my coping mechanism. I believe this is the case for a lot of people who exhibit disordered eating. I only stopped when the underlying pain was recognized.

Hi Abbey, I just wanted to say a quick thank you. Over the past few years I've been really struggling with diet and being overly concerned with healthy eating. Specifically, struggling with which "diet" to eat and I'd been getting into the mindset that I absolutely had to stick with one particular, popular diet. If I had eggs for breakfast with some butter, well then I couldn't have any bread because I had to do keto. If I had a banana, well then I had to make it into a banana smoothie bowl with no yogurt because I had to just go vegan. Watching too many RUclips fitness channels who really don't know what they're talking about, and changing my diet to an extreme end at the drop of a hat. After finding your channel however, it's been so much easier to just remember that I don't have to stick to any particular diet and that I'm free to eat anything from any food group. Your knowledge, personality, and the way the you deliver information is so informative, positive, and done in such a great way. Just wanted to say that your channel is really important for a lot of people and we're all very thankful for the content that you put up. 💜

As someone who suffered from ED too, her "tips and tricks" like taking micro sized bites and chewing way longer than necessary to just feel the taste as long as possible are just ED habits. Her so called lunch is literally her breakfast, so she's eating twice a day with maximal exercise and minimal calories. I remember being in that state of mind, making excuses like that and convincing myself that I'm being healthy all the while obsessing over not having butter on my bread and counting blueberries just to avoid some extra calories. I just hope she realises not everything is about weight because health is way, way more important.
