Such a different interpretation of little wing to what you will hear anywhere else. Full of jazz chords and phrasing and a touch so gentle but evocative of the meaning of the song that lyrics are superfluous. Pure genius.
Check out Steve Vai's live versions. He uses a bunch of cool jazz chords too, and some wild licks. I'm not saying Steve is better, just different and worth hearing.
Reminds me, in a round about way of a Grateful Dead epilogue. For those who can't seem to hear when he touches on Melody then plays a free form style then comes back. I think he does a really great job. Considering the company he's in.Anyone who covers this song, is brave and knows what he/she wants. I've heard 4 maybe more covers of this and have loved every one.Add this one to the pile.
EXCELLENT....... Makes me wish Greenie did a cover. Would be similar to this but with the amp and twin reverb turned up to the max.....with PG defying both God and Satan to interfere and blow it all away with massive feedback.
It's an interpretation..built around the chord changes.Even Hendrix jammed around the chords as did SRV. White's CD version on "Melting" would possibly be more recognizable to you.
I don't know...he's a great player, but, to me, that tune just drones on endlessly with no dynamics. It wanders in, noodles around, then peters out. A song like that should GO somewhere and take you along. Sweet, delicate playing, but I give it a big noodle.
Beautiful. No rush no pressure. Sweet sound.

His take on it is so fluid, the jazz riffs are so natural. Just sit back, close your eyes, and enjoy. God bless, A.S.
Wow. So nuanced, so soft. Just beautiful.
Гений гитары. Давно слушаю. Очень нравится. Восхищаюсь мастерством!

Listen to him at the Iridium in New York. Seems to stick close to melody, for those who have hard time
with his "free Rock".

Is he good, or is he good...
This is some mighty fine noodling, but it isn't Little Wing.
How is this little wing?
somehow....... the vocal line mixed with some of Jimi's fills
Is a long intro before he finally adds any Little Wing melody or licks. lol

No!It's just “a little bit” little wing.
@@user-et5ch3gw8w Go for it..... I will even let you punch the truth into him. lol
I like this guy - but this seems a little pointless noodling
