This live performance video used to be available on RUclips and I watched it endlessly. But it got yanked a few years ago never to be seen again. Bring it back!
thanks friend. I had an older sister of six yeas who pretty much took me all over the concert scene around the N.Y. C. the Island gigs and even Woodstock and the civil rights protests in D.C.as an 10 - 13 year old kid. She's past now and these tunes bring back so much of the unity we had back then. It was a righteous time and the music was real as we stood together in the fight for civil rights ,world peace an social justice. . The music ment so much. We were willing to give our lives. yeah and that was something.
They complimented each other magnificently. Eric Clapton solo was from the heart and the best I've ever heard him sound. He should duplicate and never deviate from this great solo. Steve Winwood was magnificent. How could anyone thumbs down this?
I've listened to millions of guitarists, some with amazing speed and technical ability but Clapton's touch, note choice, timing and soul are unmatched and sings at the same time. If anything he's underrated. A truly outstanding musician.
Only 600 likes and 22 dislikes, I can only imagine that the majority of viewers were disappointed because it wasn’t a concert video, but this is a brilliant rendition of the song and deserves more respect!
An absolutely iconic tune, played by two Masters of their craft. How can anyone "dislike" this ??? Ive been fortunate enough to see Clapton more times than I can count, going back to the late 70s, anytime he was near the NY area (even lucky enough to catch him at the Allman Bros 40th at The Beacon). Saw Steve a bunch of times in the 80s, gotta be one of the most underrated guitarists, which is a shame considering his accomplishments. For anyone reading this, try to look up Eric and Steve at one of Clapton's Crossroads Tours doing Dear Mr Fantasy... It really highlights Steves guitar playing at the part where theyre trading licks...seamless transitions, absolute virtuosos doing what they do best.
My favorite version,Jimmy is the best and so is Stevie Ray.Love different musicians doing other musicians stuff.Nothing like this will ever happen again and so lucky to be alive @ these times.
Thanks for the great music you shared Jimmy thanks gor being a part of American culture and Art you are unique you are a great influence long live music and art long live the artist .long live America the Beautiful...with in it Godbless each soul..Godbless each dream and goals...Godbless our legacy.
I love the Derek and Dominos little opening riff added so sweet. Jimi Hendrix is proud looking down from Heaven at these gentlemen of his generation carrying on with his music. I know the Chicago fans always say that the late Terry Kath was once told in London in the late 1960’s that he was the best but Hendrix also knew back then of these chaps back in the day and gave them respect too.
Clapton here tears out the heart of his guitar, and Winwood as usual is doing his thing in and out and around till you are choked to death cause you die of love
A Wonderfully Great Tribute Done by Some of the Greatest Musical Artists of LL Time! Wow! It Will be An Awfully Long Time Before we get to Hear Anything Like This Ever Again! My Sincere Thanks to Each & Everyone Who Contributed their Most Talented Efforts That They Selflessly Contributed to This Extremely Wonderful example of A Magnificent Redition of Some Kid of Real, Honest Mucians That Know How to Make Music! Thank You All.
JIMI WROTE AND PLAYED SUCH GREAT MUSIC ,ALL THE GREAT,s KNOW THAT HE WAS AHEAD OF TIME, THAT,s WHY THEY PAY HOMAGE TO HIM, AS GREAT AS THESE MUSICIAN,s ARE ,THEY WILL NEVER BE AS GREAT AS JIMI HENDRIX .😎🎸🔊🎶☮️ BOB.
It is totally shocking to me that this isnt nearly universally loved😱Its my favorite version of my favorite song...Period. This is the best of several live versions. Its a hauntingly beautiful song, beloved by the guitar greats and geniuses of all time- because it offers them a chance to make their guitars sing like human beings. Only the greats can do it- I’m a collector of covers for this. While its Jimi’s, and he does it beautifully- my fav is this, because Clapton and Steve Winwoods voices really blend beautifully. Then Stevie Ray Vaughn. Then Derek+Dominos. Its such a beautiful song!!!! Whats the matter with alla your ears!!!!!!!!
This has to be in the top 2 of this song sorry Jimi I love this version better. I could and have listened to this over and over and am more amazed everytime I hear it like I missed something the time before .
Well, she's walking through the clouds With a circus mind That's running round Butterflies and zebras and moonbeams And fairy Tales That's all she ever thinks about Riding with the wind When I'm sad, she comes to me With a thousand smiles She gives to me free It's alright, she said It's alright Take anything you want from me You can take anything, anything Fly on, little wing Yeah, yeah, yeah, little wing
I am so glad I finally found this song. I heard it before and forgot what it was. I kept asking people which clapton song had the Grateful Dead's Terrapin Station riff in it. Nobody knew. Which is very rare for a deadhead not to know. I thought they might have addwd that riff because the Dead were playing the night after or something, and since Steve Winwood has opened for The Grateful Dead a few times. I searched the date and found that The Dead, with Warren Haynes, filling in for Jerry, played MSG 4/25/2009. Roughly 25 days before this show. I think there's some connection.
I could almost swear this was from the first "Crossroads Tour" that Eric has been putting on since 99 which I saw in Madison Square Garden. Ive seen him so many times Ive honestly.lost track. And Steve has been a Guest.performer at many Crossroads Festivals. These two on the same Stage... Back to Blind Faith days. Just incredible to hear. ✌
I saw that first CrossRoads Tour in The Garden as well. I've seen Clapton nearly every time he's been anywhere near the NY area since the late 70s. Did you happen to catch the ARMS Tour back in 83 at The Garden ? Clapton, Page, Beck, and a virtual "Who's Who" of Rock Legends all on one Stage. I had a ticket for the first nite, but it was just so incredible I had to go back the next nite and scalp cause it truly was like catching lightning in a bottle. But that first CrossRoads Tour in 99 was just a fraction of what it's evolved into. Always amazing watching the Masters at work ✌️
I so love this song but then I do just about every song Clapton's ever done. Just close my eye & let my body feel the music, all else is shut out, just me & the music. River of Tears is my favorite...this month at least 😉.
Such a good song. Played this intro on my Yamaha PAC strat and some people straight up told me it's one of the most beautiful pieces of music they've ever head
I love all the versions of this song but I think that Eric's is the best - the Derek & the Domino's take on the Layla album is just a toweringly majestic song. So emotional.
A quase 07 minutos atrás, pensava que o melhor solo de guitarra ao vivo que eu tinha escutado era do próprio Mão Lenta em I Shot the Sheriff, (Crossroad 2010), e David Gilmour com Comfortably Numb, em 1988, na turnê Delicate Sound of Thunder, Pink Floyd, é claro!!! Slow Hand apronta outra vez!!! Músicos de primeira linha, como sempre, mas o assunto é o solo!!!! Escreveu um livro em cada nota!!!! 🎸🎼
don't know why they pulled the video where you can see Clapton and Winwood feeding off each other. Absolute brilliant 👏 Clapton's playing.....chills down my spine. Bring back the video D@!nit where we can see 👀 this.

The only thing better than listening to Eric Clapton is Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood.! They turn into magic. Like an old worn-out pair of jeans that fit just right. Love it!!!
maybe they accidently hit the thumbs down i mean it happens here and there. or just haters.....happens as well i just read a couple reviews and they were questioning how anyone could thumbs down this song????? either way eric clapton is def up there with the bests. ive seen him play with so many different artists but it always takes on a certain vibe and sound when he covers these songs like no other. stevie winwood is a very talented musician as well they sound beautiful like they were letting the music play them. ☮☮😎😎💕💕🖤🖤®kt.
On "My World" by Ray Charles, he covers "None Of Us Are Free" by Solomon Burke. Fantastic! Then comes the solo break and Ray's genius as a producer and Eric Clapton is heard with no doubt, that it's him.

Jimi would be smiling and have a tear in his eye with this version.. Brilliant
I'll be curious if it's close to Sting's version. Of course its Clapton so expect a great version

Just outstanding !
YEAH, FROM DEEP OF HEART AND SOUL. Like i'm old generations guitarist , i know what is this, this feeling. The guitar plays by itself .
I've listened to millions of guitarists, some with amazing speed and technical ability but Clapton's touch, note choice, timing and soul are unmatched and sings at the same time. If anything he's underrated. A truly outstanding musician.
To jest najlepsze wykonanie tego utworu.

More focus for the ears. I’m fine with that. Closed my eyes almost the whole time. Brilliant sound. So well mixed.
My friend, there's a video version of this recording. It's... devastating
Eric with Steve - two strings...yeah , the first string, Jimi is happy in the sky. THIS IS THE MUSIC.
An absolutely iconic tune, played by two Masters of their craft. How can anyone "dislike" this ???
