Galena creek is a gem. That's a nice man made spot. I have always fished a box canyon down MT rose highway behind Galena mountain. We would limit out on brookies, German Brown's, and a few cut bows in an hour upto six people. We would dig worms in the pasture as we walked into the spot. I believe at one time galena creek had the highest concentration of trout per mile in the US this was before they built the park you are at and started stocking. It must be crazy down in that canyon these days.
Would you be willing to share where this spot is? I'd love to go there see if its still active. I live just outside of Reno, and am looking for some hot fishing spots.
Welcome to Reno. If you need a few ideas on where to fish and what to use let me know. Marilyn's pond is ok but there's far better waters around town. Good luck.
I live in Reno and have fished this many, many times....n people in comments and video are wrong! They DO NOT! Stock 5,000 a year...it's only 500 twice if it's a slow year. And there is plenty of room to cast. Perfect place for spin fishers to cross your line all day, just to see what you're using. Cause 8 out of 10 times .. spinners ain't catching 😂
Go up my rose highway past high school past callahan road. Past the fire station. Just past galena forest estates. On the right. It's been a while if it's two lane highway you have gone too far.

Yeah that place is mainly for kids. It’s the smallest pond I’ve ever been in so far casting doesn’t really happen Lol but it’s nice to hike there.

Need directions cause I live like a few minutes away from Galena
Google it - super easy to find.
