- In this tutorial, I'll be showing you step by step on how to assemble the Malm bed frame from IKEA. This IKEA bed frame is pretty easy to build but if you need some help or you're struggling, this video will guide you along with the instructions.

No flaws in video clear instructions. Few mistake I made so you don’t. 1) don’t leave head stand next to nails or frame with drill nails if it falls it will make a hole or dent coz these ikea wood are hallow.
2) don’t open everything at once go one by one and clear boxes after done one part to make less mess.
3) use top holes for mattress on frame coz bed it already is low, you can go for if low one if you like
4) definitely use something on floor when building just to be safe.
5) watch full video first and then go back and start again it will the building experience great.
6)yh those rings with arrow push them all the way in then use Allen key to fasten it.
7) everything is in exact amount like nails and fasteners so if you have extra nail that means you missed a drilling hole.
8) careful when taking this out you can knock out light bulb or scratch a wall.
9) ikea charger 150 pound for this, so guys build it by yourself, most importantly enjoys it’s easier then it looks and have fun.

any tips for when the last 2 wheels dont want to catch even tho its pushed all the way in? cant turn the wheels either, no matter how hard i push with the wrench, they seem stuck. i am able to get them out and push them back in, but they wont rotate. i tried to put them in in slightly different orientations but that also wouldnt help. maybe its something with the depth?

If Im only using the frame for aesthetics without the slats but still want it sturdy, should I install the middle support beam or stop at 10:40? Will it make the frame more sturdy?

Hello, thanks for the video. I bought a Malm bed about three years ago for my guest room. Due to Covid, I did not have any guests. Now that I had open heart surgery, my friend has come to live with me. The slats on the side you sit, keep caving in. Thinking something was wrong with the slats, I got new slats, but I am having the same problem with the new slats. The rail beneath the slats gets bent and falls down. I have replaced the rail twice.
Can you please suggest something? Since the bed was bought about three years ago and I dont have the receipt, Ikea will not do anything. I don't want to discard the bed as it was not used. Thanks and kind regards.

Hey! Is it possible to install this without the headboard?
The previous owner left a single bed of the same model and I tried to move it from the first floor to the ground floor and the bed frame wouldn't come apart no matter what. I tried to forget about moving it straight down and it got stuck in the stairway. After two hours of sweating and fighting with the bed frame, I was left with a bunch of craters in the wall. I wanted to set the bed on fire, literally. Thank you for saving my house.
Do you need the skinny metal support beams ? My screws won’t fit and I actually got a screw jammed in one of the beams also I don’t have a drill so is there an alternative ?

The sliding grey things under the slats just kept falling off.. what did i do wrong? Is it important for it to be on the bed?
It was not easy to screen those in. May sure the thin/sliding metal pieces are on the bottom when you put the screw in. Then you really have to press while you screw to get it to catch. It will tighten up.
What am I supposed to do if I don’t have a drill, only screwdrivers

I might of messed up, is the backboard suppose to be loose and a little wobbly? never really had a backboard for a bed before
Where you able to fix it? For me the backboard doesn’t really fits. With all the strength in the world won’t fit together
@@erikoff6122 I had someone hold the backboard straight while I tightened the bolts in the underside and that seemed to have done the trick
My screws are not going in for metal bit at 11.03 help 😢

Do you know how many inches the mattress would sink in? I know the height of the frame itself (minus the headboard) is 15 inches but I was wondering how many inches between the bed slats and the surface so I know how much my 13 inch high mattress would sink in so I can get the total height of how I sleep 😂

Is it only me or this bed is loud af? I put all correctly, just triple checked and looks is fine. It’s just noisy, really noisy. 😢
