    for everyone stuck on 10 and 11, i recommend screwing the bolt into the metal bar by itself first, just to widen the hole and give it a path, then screw it in all together. good luck

    The website says the support beam and bed base is included in the price. If you're at the store you have to grab them as they're packaged separately. If you buy online they ship them included.

    @4:47 "tricky" is an understatement. None of the rods are threaded for the screws included at all so you are basically trying to force a metal pin the size of a peanut into a hole smaller than the initial screw. I broke several of my Phillips heads trying to get this thing to work. Me and my wife have done several of these Ikea designs and they all seem to have something like 4:47 included to get you to call them out for that extra dollar.

  • @void2258
    @void2258 10 месяцев назад

    To Ikea: Put 4 small holes at the ends of the metal beams. This would allow access to the the twist locks at both ends WITHOUT having to completely remove the rails, which will make the bed extremely portable; just undo a few twist locks and pull it apart. The current design requires you to fully remove the metal rails from the wood (unscrew a dozen self-tapping screws from wood) to access the locks if you need to move the bed in pieces (say moving house to house), which is both time consuming and risks damage/failure to re-screw. Just 4 extra holes in the metal brackets you already put holes in to make the bed much better.

    Good video - though I've assembled dozens and dozens of ikea furniture, I've not done the beds and this confirmed that they really are rubbish! Not only is the veneer hollowcore frame held together with just a few small screws, it has dozens of parts, while bedframes from ikea competitors have only about 10-15parts, and take just minutes to disassemble and reassemble when you move house. This one is also squeeky and would break apart after just a few years, unlike many other ikea products definitely give this a wide berth, though the rubber mounted slats are very good.

    Hi. Your mattress is amply raised. I noticed other mattresses are sunken in on similar malm bed frames

    Someone told me the slats were optional - the diamond keeps breaking and slipping out of its holes so I just went ahead and ordered them

    The beams are not matching/even they can’t meet exactly at the point where they are supposed to. One is shorter than the other

    Has anyone bought this bed recently? I want it so badly but of course this is one of the only ones with bad reviews. It squeaks? Is it that badly? Should I get it or not and what are the alternatives?

      Setting it up is a pain, even getting it at the store was a pain cause one day they had it and one day they didn’t.

      I’m stuck at the part with the circular rounds. It won’t bring the footboard together with the side railing
