I am at a loss for words for this climb. I did not know that the rock was so fragile- In reference to the piece breaking off in the night. This channel is a lot different to the other hiking channels I watch. I am constantly on the edge of my chair, and thankful I am not there. Drone views spectacular! Thanks for taking us along.
O the mountains are such a treat. I live in Eastern Alberta and I miss the mountains. Im from BC many years ago. Thank you very much for these shows. And also thank you very much for your top notch news show " Moose on the loose" that is our go to news source from the beginning. Keep the up the wonderful work David.
The shots from 23:10 - 26:30 are some of the most beautiful shots I've seen of the mountains, then those sunset shots over the mountains 🧡honestly all the views though this video were breathtaking. You are so fortunate to see it all. Thanks for sharing this⭐
Just getting into the video, that bushwhacking is just ridiculous! Haha, most of my hiking so far hasn’t been right on the coast where the bush can be literally impenetrable. That Donald is a wild man! Edit: curiosity made me google this, 1 cubic foot of rock is around 150 pounds on average. That thing flying down could’ve easily been 400+ pounds. Freaking scary you had to dodge that!!
Love the videos! Just had a one week trip with the camper and my wife to Spruce Woods manitoba, tons of bike trails for the e bike, tons of wildlife, and we did the Hike to the "Devils Punch Bowl" and it was absolutely stunning, 3 hours start to finish with time to enjoy the scenery
If I had the body I’d hike 9 hours and risk boulders…. I think?!😮 not sure! But honestly glad you both made it out alive and well and thank you for the incredible footage! I’m curious though how much extra time the videos add to your hikes on avg? B/c that’s an added restraint and challenge to be sure, and very much appreciated!!
New subscriber from Alberta and loving the content! I was lucky-ish enough to be one of the last parties to sleep in the Abbot Pass Hut due to the ground underneath literally crumbling away and I got to hear it through the night I spent up there. Pretty unnerving hearing rockfall when you're sleeping lol. Looking forward to seeing what else you get up to this summer!
Oh right I heard about that hut being shut down. I don't like the sound of rock moving when I'm sleeping. Especially when you hear trees exploding.....
Your channel is awesome their brother Dave from central Alberta the wife and I are going to head to the Clearwater River this weekend because it's hot you have some very interesting videos of the BC I'll be 65 here in August I'm coming back to the BC coast to do some fishen
It's funny. I was going to comment as I started watching this clip that you need to be very careful of people stalking you. And then you mentioned the midnight visit. I follow a couple of other guys that hike and tent solo. For the last year, they have been posting more and more about creepy noises and hearing noise around their tent. One guy has left twice now because he's been stalked. The second time he actually caught the guy, who was dressed in camo, but just pretended he didn't see him bc he was worried the guy might have a gun. Now, one is in the US side of the border, the other in Alberta, one in BC. So just be careful and have some kind of defense. I have a stun gun that shoots a good volt because I've been in a couple of compromising situations. Bear spray as well. Just keep in mind, if you use it to use it with intensity. It's weird but when you're in a life and death, or even a situation that requires you to defend yourself against a person or animal, you actually think about not wanting to hurt them for a sec it 2. That fight eventually takes over and you can then use more force but as it's odd. I think it his against who we are as humans that we don't want to hurt people and who have to overcome that. It's against our fundamental structure. Not everyone is like that, but most of us are. Just be careful. Better safe than sorry.
Beautiful country! Thanks for making a trip and sharing. Without you I would never experience this!

Yay another one to watch after work tonight. Thanks David. I can't imagine how filming and climbing works but I'm sure it isn't easy.
Its tricky sometimes

This reminds me of when I did kiwi, you probably felt so over stimulated at times. Great footage 😎 that whole area looks cool
ya over stimulated after 9 hours of climbing and seeing nothing then boom get all the views
Wow thanks for sharing ;)
I do believe that I enjoyed that way more than you did. 😊
haha i bet! It wasn't hardly enjoyable at all!
THE Mountains shall bring peace to the people.
That's a sign in Fairmont, by Banff
Keep safe

Brutal summit man. Those falls are beautiful though. Gotta spend more time around Tofino.
That summit is a one and done, crazy donald has been up there almost 3 full times haha
@@IdRatherBeHiking unreal lol 😂

See any Squatchies 😂😂
Just the one in my camera screen and there other one called Donald on the trail haha
Please explain your references to Madagascar 24:18 😊
The mountains in Madagascar are super spikey
If you or Donald had been hurt by that rock fall, think of how difficult it would be to get out of there once injured. 🤕Nightmares!
we'd have to call a chopper, can't hike down that with 1 leg
Odd you didn't shout out "ROCK!" 😉
I gave up where you started.
Do you post your hikes to Strava?
I do: www.strava.com/athletes/10567305
That's more than 250 lbs, amigo. More like 500 to 800.
Creepy🤓 and dangerous. Are u sure u want to do this again?
Definitely not doing that one again
