This quote by Skip Heitzig: "Exposure to biblical truth doesn't ensure a godly life." OOOF. How GOOD was this chapter?! What was your favorite verse or takeaway? 🤍
First, I love your videos! :) Second, I was having a conversation with god to confirm what I was thinking and this video confirmed it. I, too have put my self-image on a pedestal. So much wisdom I took away from this video. Thank you
The realization that God uses difficult situations to refine us is so comforting to me. While we're going through those times instead of focusing just on the negative, we can look for what we can learn from that situation.
I wanted to point out that Jonah 2:8 in my NKJ Bible says “Mercy”, not “steadfast love”. I loved what you noticed about that verse and how it spoke to you. For me, I received a different message. Mercy means “benevolence, mildness, and tenderness of the heart to treat offenders better than they deserve”. This verse showed me that I cannot have that benevolent grace on others if I am wrapped up in my own idols/selfishness.❤️ Jonah was realizing that the idol of himself was preventing him from having mercy and wanting Nineveh to be saved.
I love how in both first and second chapters the word "hurled" is used. Another verse with this same word which comes to my heart is Micah 7,19 - "You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea". For me it's so warm to see that Jonah says: "You've hurled me into the depth, into the very hearts of the seas" (Jonah 2:3), but God says: "Come to Me, and I will hurl your iniquities into the depths". How wonderful is our Lord! (thank you a lot for this Bible study🤍 Greetings from Ukrainian in Germany)
God is such an amazing God. Before you started teaching about chapter 2. The Holy Spirit told me if the fish hadn't been appointed Jonah would have drown. Then you spoke the exact same thing.
My biggest takeaway is that all of us fall short of God's glory. Jonah was not as perfect as he thought he was as a prophet. Though he wasn't being violent as the Ninevites, he still sinned because of his disobedience to God's call. We can't think so highly of ourselves and our image to where we think we deserve God's mercy more than others. I also got to not allow people's opinions and our self-image to deter us from God's call. Something I often struggle with is allowing people's opinions of me to dictate my obedience to God. When I do, I often feel bad because I know what truly matters is not anyone's opinion, including my own, but what God has written. In this season, I'm learning to let go of reluctance to God's calling and to come into agreement with His instruction!
Something that wasn’t mentioned about verse 2 is the connection between Sheol and the fish. It says, “out of the belly of Sheol I cried,” meaning that the belly of the fish represents, essentially, the belly or pit of Hell. If you think about it, there is no escaping the belly of a whale; nor is there escaping Hell. But the Lord rescued Jonah from the belly- from Hell! How amazing is that! It shows that God sees us and hears us, even when we are at our worst. It doesn’t matter how far down we’ve gone; there is always hope in the Lord!
You are Awesome with your Bible studys.Welcome back I really love your study and follow along on youtube for my quiet times. The way you explaine Jonah is so good. It's like you said we may have grown up hearing this story but I Love how you Break things down for us going verse for verse a d showing your Journaling. THANKYOU
Kaci the story of Jonah reminds me of Pinocchio when Pinocchio saves his father from the belly of a whale 🐳 selfless act of Love ♥️. I am grateful Jesus brought you into my life. 🙏
A great study. I like that our trials lead us back to the truth of scripture, but we must live it out. The Bible study resources aren't there when I clicked on the link? Thanks Kaci.
If my supposed "trial" is to have to put up with people rubbing thier marriages in my face and trying to lecture me on how I should be happy for them and happy in general while my desire for a wife given by god will never be fulfilled then I say screw that. I refuse to be toyed with. I reject the trial and walk away from it.
Does anyone know what book/journal she has when she does the deep dives? I've been trying to find it in her links but the one's she links aren't the same as the one at the end of the video.
Hello Kaci Nicole, my name is Sean I wrote to you on your testimonial and gave you mine. I have been a follower than a leader as a follower I have sinned so much my heart ♥️ is crying out. Even my ex wife did the same to me. I gave more an got less. I tend to hide my feelings and heart from people now. I feel the Holy Ghost spoke to my heart ❤️ and when I move around my bedroom I could feel his presence. Can I join your bible class and make friends? Sean🌻
Jonah died. Living people do not go to Sheol. He surely died. I don't think it is fair to say Jonah was worried about his reputation. There is nothing in the book to suggest that, is there? It's your own imagination. It doesn't make sense to me. He fled like a coward to what he thought of as the end of the world. That doesn't sound like a person concerned with their reputation.

✨ My favorite takeaway was just that God is near Jonah and hears Jonah even as Jonah is in the belly of a fish. He saved Jonah in multiple ways.
Prayers needed for my family today. Please 🙏🏼 over us that we will overcome. Thank you.
Praying for you now 🙏🏼
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Amen 😍🙌🏽

Which of your bible studies should I watch first? I been reading the bible for a lil more than a year and I'm about to finish the book of numbers 😢
What do you think Jonas did for deserving a such punishment from God, and ending up in the belly of a fish?
Disobedience
