If you could find a compatible wireless controller which would allow you to operate the winch from inside the cab, that would be cash money for sure!! Nice job like always Sam!!!
Good stuff Sam. Like the finishing touches and how you went above and beyond BUT common sense...so one might argue, you did it correctly, one might say you were extra. I say, excellent and a good DIY instructor type video. Thanks for the top notch videos
Next one you get grab the blue steel rope version! It still has 13,500 lbs rating. Listen i was a hard ass and never ever thought i would use a rope winch!! After working for a tree company and they had one on the back of the chipper! The ease of use and angles i could get was unreal! You never prick yourself! You dont have to worry about kinks! Nd if it does break on site you pull out your knife heat up the blade and just cut the bad piece off! So now i have both steel and rope!! Best thing ever was a remote control for it!! If you got a tree thats a lil iffy i have my partner use the winch remotely while i back cut! Love your channel give my new channel a look im up and coming! Hello from NY
This is the second video of putting a winch on a skid steer. The the other was Sumter Wrecker in SC although what they did was via an attachment. Both seems like good ideas to use a skid steer. Thanks for sharing this.
When you make a drill hole on steel, use a masking tape so you can inscribed on by using a pincel. If you have a mistake you can simply remove the tape and start allover again. It's much more easy than inscribed on top of the material itself.
"Damage resistance" is what we call the resistance of a vehicle not free rolling, either because it is in fact damaged, or it's in park, etc and that is 66 percent of the weight of the vehicle in resistance, rolling on hard surfaces is 5 percent, rolling on loose surfaces is 15 percent, tire depth stuck in mud is 100 percent, wheel depth is 125 percent, and body depth is 150 percent, these are all rough calculations made for cars in the towing industry to calculate resistance but point being a 6000 pound truck not free rolling is about 4000 pounds in resistance.
Thanks towtruckAJ, I knew that sliding the truck on dirt wasn't equal to the full weight of the truck. Just had to look in the comments to find somebody who knew the numbers
@@willfoster1146 Yeah typically the math is done by axle or by wheel if possible, but you have to know the weight on the individual wheel or axle to break it down further, additionally it may be rolling but not rolling freely as it appeared in the video, it's in gear so there is some resistance but the wheels are still somewhat moving so it's in between, the percentages i quoted are high estimates, it's so when rigging you can identify the resistance and make a high estimate to stay in the safe area, so even with all 4 dragging its likely less than 66 percent but that is around the highest resistance it will have when dragging on flat ground.
Came out great 🇺🇸 Harbor freight actually makes a pretty legit winch for a great price (Apex winch) smitty built makes good stuff if you don’t want to spring for a warn… which makes a a VR version of their winches which is on the cheap end for them
Looks good brother. As a boon to Precision Armor you could put a thin piece of metal painted red or some such right behind their logo and help it stand out more. Kind of give them a little added love for hooking a brother up. Either way it all looks great.
I have been running a Smittybilt 12k on my Jeep for 9 years now heavy use because I like to crawl on things I'm not supposed to. I'm just now having small issues with it.
Question for you, so we are haveing a bumper built for back of the 12, i can trade for a beefy new hydralic winch, the question is will any hydraulic winch work, as long as i got correct connectors, etc? All im trying to do is make it so she can winch from in the cab
I own a TL6R. What you did is really cool but I’m thinking the weakest thing in your system is the bolt holes and bolts which mount the weight ballasts. Little concerned about how much weight you could be pulling w that strong winch.
I know more is better but I liked the 4 bolt set up better those holes were to close together for my liking but killer set up like to see a video of you testing on her
Out of all the fabricating and working on equipment that you've done. For some reason I'm more excited about this than anything congratulations outstanding that rear guard and winch are awesome addition to that machine. I'll be watching LOL to see if you'll be using that which more than you think future videos will tell the tale. Looking forward to more videos thanks )-[@#=]
I really really like the guard I’m going to order one slick idea for sure looks well built. Good channel man I’ve been watching for alooong time good wind down at end of day.
@@VBELTandSON Look for a 20mm ammo can. They're tall and narrow 19 tall X14 long X8 wide. A couple of chains, and a shackle or two and wire rope choker.
@@VBELTandSON all the comments about pull load vs machine weight would be cancelled with a D-ring and pulley. I'm sure the smittybilt instructions say the weight rating of each wrap of cable is like the Warn winches do. If not check it out. Without doing the calculations, I believe a real short pull leaving you pulling with three layers of cable would make your 17,500 probably closer to a 10,000lb rating. the 2:1with a pulley gets more cable run off the drum, increasing the rating closer to what the winch is rated at plus the pulley cuts the load down when the pulley can move.
Wire an in cab switch then you never have to worry about where the controller is. there should be only 2 wires you actually need to connect into in the control box. You can pull power from an in cab source. ruclips.net/video/UYXP2yISjYA/видео.html Another option is a wireless controller then velcro in the cab. I personally like the one from tractor supply it is huge but it uses regular batteries which last a really long time. the size also makes it less likely to get lost if dropped.

Nice thing about the winch, if you get the truck and trailer stuck. You can winch it backwards without having to unload the skidsteer.

Great addition. Can never be over prepared for emergencies.

One of the main reasons I love this channel is that everything gets a guard! Just how I like it 👍
That a badass looking rear battle bumper 💪🏽👍🏽 just need to add some small LED lights on it🤔🤔
Good video Sam. I would add steel mesh to block the sides off.
That's handy!! A weld on receiver would be slick on the lower bumper to move a trailer or some implement.

I’ve got a 333g with diamond drum mulcher. I’ve got a weight kit and bumper on it. I’ve been wanting a winch but never thought about electric.

Nice work you guys need a snowcat whinch setup where it pivots 360 degrees off the top and lets you out and whinchs you up as the machine travels
That set up is so legit.
Two questions, how far does the bumper stick out from the back door of skidloader and is that 3" tubing on the bumper ? Thanks and great video

What plasma cutter did you use in this video?
Solid video, what welder do you have?
You should fill the square tubing with lead or steel shot pellets.
I have definitely considered do exactly that
I would have sprung for some gray paint to paint it up to match the Takeuchi colors like it was before. Otherwise, looks great.
I was digging the black look. Matches the push bar on the front of the machine now
Might be able to fit a ammo can into that spot next to the winch for storage
