I'm scheduled for a wax try in this Friday. I'm learning what to look for, and taking notes so I'll remember. I truly don't intend to be difficult when I go in. But I've been saving for years to get my teeth and for me this is a whole lot of money to spend. So I'd hate to be disappointed because of an issue that could have easily been prevented. Thanks for the video.
I had my second wax try in today. I want to thank you for the info I had no idea what to look for I just knew they weren't right. I will be wearing them for 5 years so they need to be right.
Thank you for this important info, doc. I'm 51 and still feel like I'm in my 30s. I have an appointment at noon today for mine, and I'm excited. I hope I can actually eat solid food with these new ones. I've been on a baby food diet for the last 3 years and have lost too much weight. I am looking forward to eating real food again.
@VeryNiceSmileDental just got back, and it went well. I'm scheduled to go back in a week for my second try in. I appreciated your tips, and we went through all of them. I'm very happy with the "team" of people working with me. They are adjusting the bite and bringing the top forward a few mm and adding some extra material to help fill my face in. It makes a huge difference and takes 10 years off of my face. I had no idea they could do that so I'm excited.
3 months ago I got immediate dentures. Then I noticed that my 4 front teeth aren't perfectly vertical. I never had such my own teeth. I told to dentist about it, they just offered to order other low denture and not free.
Hey Doc, I had my {23} teeth removed in two sittings 2 weeks apart. My teeth were stubborn. I'm having issues with the lowers digging into my gums when I eat. I've had adjustments already. Will this subside? It started with the molding they added bone graph after extractions surly they knew the temps wouldn't fit? Right? Any advise would help.
Hi, if the dentures are still digging into your gums they will need to be adjusted some more. Do you have immediate dentures? Are you planning on getting implants?
@@VeryNiceSmileDental Yes sir, they are immediate. I get the others in May. 6 months from the first procedure. My doc thought it a good idea to get the implants in case I want them in the future. I'll set another adjustment appointment.
I am going in for my 22 teeth removal , with jaw bone spurs ground down. Under full anesthesia. With the cost of relines, I have decided to wait to get my dentures. I am retired and not needing them. I can wait. I have an appointment 28 days with my dentist after my surgery. After I have healed enough. When will I know that my gums are done with swelling and healing.
Hi, I like to make sure the jaw is no longer sore to the touch. 4-6 weeks after the extractions for most people. The longer you wait before impressions, the more your jaw will heal and the better fit you'll get. The jaw continues to shrink for months after tooth removal.
@@VeryNiceSmileDental Thank you very much for your response. A man of your word about response to questions. How would you suggest that I choose a lab to make my dentures. My dentist says that they can make them but,,,, I could probably find them cheaper in the Boise, Idaho area. I guess what the dentist is saying is that they are maybe more expensive than someone like a National Chain. Maybe Aspen Dental.
Hi, the dental lab is usually chosen by the dentist making the denture. I haven't heard good things about dental chains from patients. Good dentures are difficult to make at insurance rates. What state are you in? 6 states allow denturists to make dentures for people, Arizona, Colorado, Maine, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
The only dentist I know of near Boise is Dr. Wade Pilling. I don't know him personally but I've seen his work on the internet over the years. He is a very good dentist.
My brother just had the impression for an immediate upper denture done with three front, but off-center (shifted slightly to one side due to bone loss). He's scheduled to go back soon for his wax try-in(s?), but the dentist isn't planning on removing those three front misaligned teeth until he gets the finished product. Can you show how the wax try-ins can fit over those misaligned teeth? All the videos I've seen so far show the try-in with all teeth in the arch removed already.
@@VeryNiceSmileDental Thanks for this info. I just hope, since his teeth are noticeably shifted to one side due to the bone loss, that the finished immediate denture will have the teeth properly centered.
Make sure that he lets his dentist know that he wants the teeth properly centered. Sometimes the dental lab will just copy the arrangement of the persons teeth for the immediate denture.
Okay I have a huge concern. I went for my wax try in. I couldn't close my mouth. (Kinda like when you were a kid and you would put in the fake vampire cheap plastic teeth. ). I felt like I had a pair of my father's dentures in. Very very big. The dental assistant keep telling me this was normal. I've never had dentures before, so this is new to me. The dentist never came. The assistant didn't have me say anything. Now listening to you I'm so nervous. Because the color and the teeth looked nice. But the wax try in's were so big I couldn't close my mouth. Is that normal? Please please help me. Thank you
Hi, during the wax try in , the position of the teeth and the contours of the gums should be what they will be in the final denture. You mentioned this is your first denture. How long has it been since getting your teeth extracted?
@@VeryNiceSmileDental 4 months ago. And now they went ahead and are making my dentures without me being confident in the way they look. They were huge. And I'm worried they are going to look like horse teeth.
Sir, i have gotten a panoramic xray, i see a very very small black spot just below the enamel of a wisdom tooth, could that be just the shadow or did the cavity touch the DEJ? Can i send you a pic pleasse
I wanted to get snap in bottom dentures for reasons that are unique to me. Even though many advertose they will do them when i go in they dont. Also i have a very small mouth so two would be plenty. When i go to my appointment they give me estimates for full implants . Something I can not afford.
I have two knows of bone in back bottom and ridge desenegrating. Pain still two years no dentist will help. Had two alveoplastys and constant sore pain still
@VeryNiceSmileDental no stomach not working anymore. Hospitalized twice but can't eat. Debt unbelievable. I can't take this level of pain anymore. Pallet and tongue is so painful. So many specialist. Pain shots now can't open jaw.
I have never ever had a dentist put in a wax denture to make sure the main denture will fit or look correctly. they make a wAX impression and make the denture thats it. mostly look fake teeth are to big, they get upset if you tell them that. and say you will have to get used to them. my first dentures were awesome the dentist made them look like my real teeth. I am trying to get in touch with him now, but do not know if they will take my new insurance. these other dentist awe just aweful. rude, and get so upset if they have to fix there dentures. the last ones i had made are still in my cup and do not use them. there aweful, to big. and do not fit right. the dentist would not fix the issues. i should of sued him, the denture i cant even chew with them. geez.
just got back from my wax try in visit after my teeth were thrown away at the hospital. These wax try ins were SO BAD. They were ALL GUM. Look fake as shit. Of course I had to pay 1400 up front. Going back in at 3 for another wax try in. I'm basically wanting to die right now though.
Sorry to hear about your situation. I hope your dentist can correct the issues. Don't sign off on the wax try-in until you are happy with how they look. I've had a couple of patients over the years which required multiple try-in visits until they were satisfied. Sometimes stuff happens. Please let me know how it goes.
So they fixed the wax try-ins but they are still WAY too white. The dentist got the guy from the back over to my table and basically corndered me with 'we don't have any other shades' ...they know how unhappy I am with them but they won't take no for an answer. I don't know what else to tell them. I'm going in to see today if they happen to loo any better out of wax but I really don't like them. I've worn dentures for years and this is my first (AND LAST) time at 'affordable dentures' - what a horrible mistake. @@VeryNiceSmileDental

Hi, that's one of the downsides to immediate dentures, you can't try them in at the wax stage.
@@VeryNiceSmileDental Thank you.
You're welcome. Thank you very much for watching.
After you're completely satisfied with the wax try-in, how long does it take the lab to finalize the whole thing? Thank you.
Hi, it will depend on the lab. I schedule the person a week out.
Very informative information thanks so much

Mines two different dentist work on my teeth so it’s one style vs another but they for saving my teeth and love the partials

It's normal for immediate dentures to need a lot of adjustments. Your jaws change quite a bit while they are healing.

Do dentists usually do only one wax try-in or more than that? Thanks
Hi, I will do as many wax try-ins as needed so the patient is happy with the appearance. It's so much easier to change things in wax.
