So no one is gonna comment on the 12 thousand screws? lol it is very interesting i think you would really have to love the looks of this thing to pay the price point.

I've been looking at these on USA Made Blade so I was interested in this review. Great looking folder, definitely has a hard use appearance.

I’m not so sure Bryan...for that money, I can think of...maybe I’m wrong and just need to get it in my hands on this one. But as great as it looks I’m just not sure it would fit well for my EDC knife needs. I’m sure it would fit well someplace...in some pocket...just not mine.

Yep, without the scallops on the blade I would have one. I could even deal with the billboarding which isn’t the case for me normally, but just can’t stand those scallops

I think the billboarding is supposed make it feel like a tool. Like a Estwing hammer or a Craftsman wrench.
Not every folder is for everyone. Not every folder has to follow a trend. This is definitely a stand alone knife that is better than the sum of its parts. Until you get one in hand you won’t get it. There is nothing wrong with despising it from the way it looks. Either you dig it or you don’t. It’s your money.
Every other knife maker: The market is trending to thinner stock with a slicey, thin behind the edge blade, we need to give the people want they want.
Freeman: Nah, give em the fluted, low saber grind and thick. Oh and I got three words for the designers.... NAME ON BLAST!
The freeman has been the same since they released and it sells. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
I wish he would thin the grind out a bit, as this could be a masterpiece if it cut better. I had to get rid of mine because it's just a bear to sharpen and it doesn't slice things well.

Personally think it'd look a lot better with a normal evenly CNC'd primary bevel and no cerakote. Performance wise looks some what limited in it's usability as far as EDC tasks go.
Those scallops are directional and wide so look as though they will favor down, straight cuts, as opposed to sweeping, or angular cuts through material. They look as though they'll create resistance if used in a direction opposing those grooves. Perhaps the secondary bevel angles are shallow enough to deflect the material outward?
Would have been cool to see s45VN as a "slicer" EDC variant with a thin grind and a 3v,4v,or m4 as a hard use version, with a thin grind as well because you can with those steels. It's an interesting knife. S45VN is supposed to be an upgrade on corrosion resistance compared to s30v/35vn. But lacks in toughness to even S35VN. Maybe that explains the thick grind. It's near s30V on toughness which is a steel i'd never want for hard use because it micro chips so easily. Personally don't think the uniqueness equates to utilitarian. It's a miss for me. I don't really understand it tbh...

The ones I tried out at REC were awesome. I bought that bargain Native Chief instead but I almost had to have it. It's amazingly built and feels like it would just be a heck of a work knife.
I actually do like how it looks, billboarding and all.
Come close a few times to grabbing one, but never made the move. Also is that in S45VN steel?....😉
I have the all Carbon Fiber S35VN model that weighs 4.3oz. The bill boarding is not an issue for me, the performance is all that matters, and mine performs beautifully.

Its a plain edge, but the milling behind the edge seems like it would cut like a serrated blade too. I like it.

I remember loving their fixed blade. They made or make an edc fixed blade that I saw on blade hq. Do they make a 3.5 in or 3.25 inch version? This seems like a 4.25?

The coloration on this is bold. I don't think it works for me, but it seems like a good value.

Oh, one more: Based on the font, I bet the EDC pocket dump for this is this knife, a pill box, one of those telephones with the big numbers, a Life Alert necklace... and some sanitary wipes. 😂

If you're patient enough to wait for the next run, I have a really hard time seeing this as a better buy than a Mordax in any way.
I've owned both and the mordax is imo better its thinner, lighter, blade is leaner and the clip is deep carry
When my neighborhood public library reopens, I'll make sure to look for this in the large print/senior section. The ridiculous blade and branding distracts you from the fact that the handle has way too many screws. It's like they had a bunch of extra torx lying around and said, eh... why not?
That looks like one of those knives where you don't know your cutting yourself till you feel the milling on the blade. Lol. On that note I actually like the milling.

I like it for sure...did you get an inheritance? I keed, sort of, loving the 200-300 dollar reviews although proving difficult to keep up with. Really enjoying my socom elite though and it was 204p from 6/19.
Thanks for a detailed review/description. I had briefly an earlier version of this knife - D2 steel, full black with green inlays. Looked super cool. Action was best described as guillotine. The blade geometry was a little different - the grind was higher. ,the grooves were finer (you can see it here if you care: www.flickr.com/search/?user_id=31007239%40N06&sort=date-taken-desc&text=451&view_all=1). But I have returned it after a few days. It was simply too thick to cut anything decently (I mean stuff like cardboard, this knife is obviously not an apple slicer). I wish I have kept it - today I would regrind the blade myself and have a fantastic heavy duty knife. I also wish they considered making a bit smaller/thinner version that would be more suited as an EDC.

They have some cool looking fixed blades on their site. People make fun of the way that knife looks but it looks WAYY better than a lot of the crap schrade makes. People buy some REALLY dumb looking knives

Seriously... generally speaking, the sharper the edge, the less noise it makes cutting paper... that was not quiet.
Remimds me of super early medfords, sharpen all you want itll never shave hair and always be awful at cutting paper.
If this came out in 2014, theyd sell a million of them. Still might. Definitely not for me, but it seems well made at a fair price.

I like the handle and the lock but everything forward of the pivot is an ugly mess in my opinion. I might like the blade shape but I can’t really see it under all that ugly.

Call me a cynic but I have a hard time believing that type of button lock can be considered hard use. Just doesnt resonate with my simpleton mind I guess.
