OHMYGOSH, I... I thought I had to use a grain alcohol to thin the gel paint because it won't dissolve the top layer of the icing... Gobsmacked. I'll try it with water. SOOOOOO beautiful!
I think the type of brush used makes a huge difference in the outcome. Could you please do a follow up video and show what types of brushes are being used because what I'm using isn't working.
Pearl Swasey hi! I used brushes made by wilton, you can get them from Micheals or on line. And then the little brush is just a plain artist’s brush I got from a local art store made of synthetic fibers
Oh my god! You are a genius!!! Do you paint with water and not with alcohol? I started painting my cookies also with colors mixed with water, but then I saw in every video on youtube, that people use vodka or grain alcohol because it evaporates very quickly. But when I apply the colour mixed with alcohol, the painting looks horrible ...
What brand of gold are you using?? I too paint on my cookies. I use Everclear because it does dry so much faster! (: These are perfect! Thanks for sharing!
Jessica Carreon I’m using water but I am wondering if you could use alcohol like vodka or everclear to make it dry a bit faster. Might try that with another batch. Thank you so much for watching my video!
Людмила Сумарокова easy recipe 1pound confectioners sugar, 5 tablespoons meringue powder and 3 teaspoons oil free flavoring and add water to desired consistency, I start with 1/2 cup and add from there. Mix until lumps are gone and desired consistency.
These are STUNNING!!! I’m going to try them for my mother in law’s birthday cookies! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
I'm so glad it's water,and not Vodka....am I right?
Stunning work of art. Thanks

In this video I am using a brush that wilton sells in a set, it is the blunt second largest brush in the set
I just saw the set available on Amazon for $8

I use vodka because it’s handy for the reason you mentioned, it dries fastest without melting the icing. Thank you! I’m really not a genius....

I am using truly mad plastics gold luster dust! Thank you so much for checking out my amateur video!!
My gold luster dust always ruins the cookies because they become porous, like I used acid
I painted my cookies and waited one night; but the colour stained my fingers while eating. Did you encounter the same issue ?how can i prevent that?
That’s strange. Maybe dilute the food coloring with more vodka or try a different brand of gel food color. Hope this helps!
Are you using water to dilute it?
