One of the problems that method will generate is running down your battery faster than normal... the system will see the ignition as having the key in it all the time and keep the Body Control Module awake... Unless the key is completely out of the system your computers will stay awake and increase the draw on the battery ... the same thing happens if you have a proximity key within the sensing distance of the car... simply put the car does not go to sleep when it should.

So you just stuck the transponder chip from the one key into the cylinder housing so basically any key that can turn the cylinder will start the car. What was the Bondic on the key for? What is that glue holding in besides just filling that hole? You made it so you can drive the car, but like I said, anyone with a key that can turn that cylinder can start the car, Why not glue that transponder chip in the new key, and find a way to take the FOB off the other key and put it on the other new key (maybe possible), Than you would have 2 new keys, plus security

Stop being a pain in the ass and know it all, like so many here in their comments. Most important thing is that the car will start and you can drive. For God sake get a life!

Genius!!! I was wondering if doing that would work because I too got a new pair of keys and not because the cylinder stopped work but because they broke into my cr-v and messed up my door locks all except rear which now has a fishing line drilled into the rear passenger lock. It's getting tiresome going back the all the time and people look at me weirdly opening all 3 doors to access the cab. lol Ima doing this hack and gluing it in that location. I had somewhat an idea but you my friend just saved me several hours from my day; Now I can go back to watching porno and rubbing the lamp.

@@rick3090 The antenna is passive all it does when you turn the key on sends a signal to the immobilizer module and it gives clearnce if the code in the chip of the key is the same that is programmed in the immobilizer module it sets it free. Your car starts. I have the same problem here, when I try to read the fault car cranks but doesn't start it says the immobilizer is the culprit. When I put the chip to the Antenna it doesn't communicate, it says I have to register the transponder. Weird, I would like to get rid of the immobilizer all together. My 2010 Accord won't program any keys, so I'm stuck with the 1 key. The dealer said it was probably the immobilizer, but that if it turned out that wasn't the problem, I'd still have to pay for it. So I didn't have them replace it. My car has a lot of communication issues, so I'm not interested in replacing a part that might just be a symptom and not the cause.

Yes, the original key and ignition were damaged, so the replacement key and ignition switch will work turning the ignition on and off, however the car will not start due to the original chip not installed, the new key has a chip but will confuse the anti theft, so i pull out the new chip and install the original chip with a spot of glue and we're off to the races.
