Privettricker, James James the go to guitarist at least a couple times a week . Thanks for the years of videos that have taught me all the guitar licks that I want to know about. Thanks again James.
I’ve seriously loved both of your channels since I found them well over 8 years ago but the way you casually discard that slide and transition to the chord made me smile so much. You’re one incredibly talented individual.
Hey man, I play a ton and every time I'm learning new stuff I seem to find your videos by far and out the most accurate, easy to follow covers. Great stuff and love your tone. thx
that lick at 4.18ish - we all know it - i love this song but cant help its such a good lick we should be hearing it sooner/more or it could be a song in itself. Its that good.
Finally!!! Somebody actually using a slide. I viewed 6 in a row with idiots playing it without a slide, with bigger idiots saying how authentic it was.
Years ago I asked what those little teeny brown lines are that run parallel to the neck just about where your elbow rests on the body. Mineral lines! I have lusted after them for quite some time and am actually in process of building my own to have them. You inspire on all levels.
Please read this whole text because it's truly a compliment to what you do ! I have listened to much of your work, (BRAVO !) but I need to say that I think you detract from yourself when you run the studio recordings in the background. I realize you might be using it for comparison reasons but you don't do yourself justice and people (some of my students in particular) think your hiding behind those tracks. I do not think that's what your intentions are and I wanted to both pay you a compliment and offer you some constructive advice as well. Keep on cranking them out. I use much of what you do to teach some of my students. Thanks for all your hard work !!
I’m sorry that you would take that hostile attitude. People obviously look to you for direction and I tried to point that out along with paying you a true compliment. Part of being a good mentor is having the ability to use what people say to your advantage to become even a greater teacher. I was trying to tell you that I enjoy hearing you without the recording. You don’t have to agree with me but being open to people who appreciate you is the sign of a true artistic teacher. I think we should always look to better ourselves. Nothing negative was intended. And I truly enjoy your work.
@@michaelerikvonhartung1869 Hostile? How is it hostile to say that people's criticisms don't bother me -- especially now that I'm no longer posting videos? If somebody doesn't like how I do my videos, it's too late for me to go back and change them. But you're free to interpret my comments however you wish. As I said, it doesn't bother me.
Hey James, I'm currently playing through the Led Zeppelin ii and I couldn't remember the whole song so I watched the video. I know you don't post videos anymore but you always seemed like a great dude with a great taste in everything, so I'm just asking how you doing? I hope everything is fine, keep on rocking
Is it just me or is this a little bit, a tad, a smidgen bit slower than the original? Also, I believe Led Zeppelin was touring with Donovan and acquired the opening lick/strum from Season of the Witch, or something to this effect? Please clarify this factoid, if you will...because if anyone knows the story, it'd be you. Thanks!
Yeah, the Led Zepagain version feels a little sluggish, especially when you get to the slide solo. It just drags. As for similarities to Season of the Witch, I think this is one of the few Zeppelin tunes that is 100% their own songwriting, with nothing stolen. :)
Hey JJ! Long time watcher, first time commenter : ) ....curious as to why you do not use a pick for the opening line/verse? ps - please dont delete the privettricker videos...thanks for the Touch of Grey and D'yer Maker lessons (among the many others...those are the two I tackled last week)....cheers!
Is it me or does the D chord in the song chorus, not a full blown D? It has a little dissonant note I hear or is that the D/A sound? Not doubting your work JJ, I always thought it sounded a tad different than a Dmaj. Help!
There once was a man from Nantucket Who kept all his cash in a bucket His daughter named Nan Ran off with some man... And as for the bucket... Nan tuck it..... :)
Backtoshallabal Les Pauls, for sure. I could happily live the rest of my life without playing a Strat. Still, Strats are nice to have because they're much more versatile.
That tone is soooo dialed in it’s sick!

Sometimes i think they are the same person... Page
@@ravifloresalves I think they really are the same person, aren't they?
it's not just Jimmy in this song. it's the whole band. well, that's every song lol. genius collection of talent
One of Page’s best songs. Pure genius. Well done.
You’re one of the only ones on RUclips who play this right. Those two opening chords.
I’ve seriously loved both of your channels since I found them well over 8 years ago but the way you casually discard that slide and transition to the chord made me smile so much. You’re one incredibly talented individual.
Outstanding! This is one of my top 3 Zep songs; thank you James James!

You have the nicest guitars
The real genius and talent in LZ was always John Paul Jones …
cool cover :) also pretty slick one-handed slide on and off.
Nice, nice job! Thanks for the lesson (s).
Awesome man
Really enjoy your slide playing.
Buddy Martin I'm not much of a slide player, especially not in standard tuning!
:-) I think you are awfully good, I know it’s hard in Standard. It’s nice to see your slide come out anytime, thank you.
Excellent work!
Thank you so musch
Very Nice man, greetings from Brazil!
James for president!
No, thanks.
I'm joking, James :-). But you are the best guitar teacher on the web, for sure. Also for Led Zeppelin lesson's that you develope!
I saw Led zepagain in dana point, CA like two years ago. Their Japanese jimmy page was pretty cool
Don’t think he plays with em anymore tho
No, he's gone. But the new guy is really good.
Just like watching ya play it.
So good!!!!
You make things look so easy but when we try its a disaster

No idea, it was a gift.
Except the slide for now. ;)

IncaFreestyle Sounds too harsh with a pick.
Much obliged!

Les Paul is sweet
Ah, when the Les Paul growls…
James James Page Page
Mark Job I I wish wish.
Looks like your Living Loving Maid was taken down,eh?
Yep. Easy come, easy go.
Are you more of a Strat or Les Paul kind of guy?
Backtoshallabal Les Pauls, for sure. I could happily live the rest of my life without playing a Strat. Still, Strats are nice to have because they're much more versatile.
James James it's good to see someone with the same opinion as mine, cheers bro, nice video by the way, you win another sub \m/
James James What about the Les Paul makes you say that? I’m aware of their attributes just curious what it is to you that makes them your preference.
James James ...t as le truc...
Seems doable for me.
