Sad most people think this is cruel and inhumane, when really he’s just balancing the population of an invasive species.
The ones who thinks this is evil are mostly young kids who doesn't know, but still cares for animals. Its best to inform them, at least they care about animals.
Very intuitive of you.
Invasive population like humans?
@@networkplayer01 fair point
@Rayzor Blade good point
For people who don't understand what this guy is doing he balances the ecosystem, there are not too many predators that can eat lion fish in that place, so they are overpopulated, and if there are no animals that can control their population it is human's job to control it, and if you say "Let nature do its work" you're definitely wrong because humans are also part of nature, we also play a role in ecosystems like this, why would humans be created if there is no function
You miss the part where humans only need to intervene when humans introduced new species or when humans killed all natural predators lol
Humans function is to do what the diver is doing. Taking care of the Earth.
🌍
I both agree and disagree if we are a part of nature we should have some sort of predator hunting only us but no were the most destructive species on the planet but with our knowledge i do believe that yes we can change that and we can play our role in the eco system

There is a massive lionfish invasion in the coast of Florida and they have no natural predators, and consume a lot of fish and breed efficiently too. So, they are a big threat to the eco system and the corals. ruclips.net/video/CSd7pgvOV3M/видео.html

Thanks for letting people know what’s up with lionfish. They are from another country and were brought as pets and released by owners. Now they hurt our reefs.

@@Endersoul-tx1of It ain't a war crime if you sell them at the market for the benefit of the economy.
It stresses me to know just how many you catched in 4 minutes, as in there's tons of them and it makes me unsure if we can actually get rid of them some day. How many do you catch in a full dive?
Depends on how much your people eat them, and how much your bag can take. The thing with lionfish in particular is that they're very much like sargos in that they hate open water, they basically stick to the rocks and coral reefs, as you saw, so you cannot commercially fish them without destroying the reef/rocks, and even the least environmentally friendly fisherman knows that's just signing a death-wish for the fish population. It's why so many of these videos are people harpoon-fishing for them; it's the most efficient way.
They're also fish-able by rod, but most people don't like them because taking them off the hook is a pain, not to mention the potential poisoning because the spikes and the endless hooks they'd lose in the rocks...
In any case, where I'm from, they're often consumed often enough, mostly because they're cheap, the issue is that cleaning them takes a bit of time compared to other, more delicious fish, but since we're a big population, they're consumed often enough.
I suppose the only way to deal with them in the USA would be by paying lots of money for people to harpoon them. That should get the ball rolling, maybe it could even alleviate the stress off commercial fish.
Start selling them in Chinese markets, the bloody thing will be gone in a year. I'm Chinese, I can make that joke.
