    For those who don't know, the instrumental EM is rhyming over is Queen Laftifah's "Wrath Of My Madness" produced by The 45 King. Over a decade later The 45 King would go on to produce one of Em's biggest songs to date. "Stan". This is my first time hearing this song. It all makes sense now!

      The original instrumental is “Chicken Strut” by The Meters. A few songs around that time sampled it. I remember hearing it on an MC Lyte track. Didn't “Wrath of my Madness” come out a couple of years after Em made this? Regardless, 45 King was pretty damn prolific. May he Rest In Power.

      It's about time we acknowledge him as the goat. He's been at it for almost 40 years. Dude's 51 and is still one of the biggest names in music. I don't even know when I last heard something from Jay Z or Nas. Yes, obviously they're both still making music, but it's an objective fact that a lot of the "top 10" artists from people's list are far below Em in terms of popularity. He's constantly outselling every other rapper and now he's coming in hot with a new album. I know Em once said Nas is a better writer than Em but is he? Maybe at one point. Maybe, but not now imo

      @@theunderdog9353 not even close, his discography is very hit or miss. he has classics like the marshall mathers lp, but he reached horrible lows with mtbmb, revival, and kamikaze. in terms of influence he has inspired many modern rappers, but he also influenced white rappers who say stuff like "death to mumble rap". i definitely would put people like kendrick and nas ahead of him, because eminems way too inconsistent. reminder that popularity ≠ greatness, if you talk to anyone under the age of 50, they'll tell you eminem is just looking for shock value to stay relevant. heres a lyric from the new album you mentioned "eff blind people, deaf people suck"

      A lot of dudes with bars & creative flow out if you look hard enough (especially around my age artists that are 25 -35 that are SOLID joyner and KAAN come to mind) definitely are influenced from their inspiring peers and OGs in the game. Em and other talented lyricist type rappers (KRS1 etc) newer and classic being said inspirations.

      Lay, the beat a-thumping, and then try your best jives, menace.
      See that doesn't make much sense at all but anything works, just right some stuff down, the more you do it, the time will just tell, your sure to persure it.
      Also there are ways you can go from one rhyme to another, one I like is adding -ing to the end of a rhyme, like
      Twist, split, kicked and discussing,
      Mis, fit, hits, and disgusting,
      Erupting, combusting, you must be, a dud see, you not the, one to trust me
