Killer2600 There is a simple solution for these frivolous lawsuits, pass laws that make the attorney who brings the lawsuit pay all court costs and attorneys fees, for both parties, if they lose. This law is in place in England and you don’t see near the frivolous lawsuits over there. Led Zeppelin spent $800,000 defending themselves in a US court on a copy right lawsuit and the same attorneys s are suing them again. If we had the law, I mentioned, in place neither lawsuit would have taken place.

@Just J if you sell a bike/car as road legal and for use on the road and it turns out to be junk/fucked theres an obligation there and the 30day warranty wont always be the end of.
Its one nice thing about buying used from a dealer you have more protection than used. Mods and miles don't change anything.
Selling a bike 'as is' 'not fit for the road' etc etc changes things obviously but what people get told is the warranty limit isnt always the end of the obligation.

I'd pull the oil pan and see if that missing clutch basket material is clogging up the oil pickup screen and i would also tear open an oil filter and see if the basket material has accumulated in there. Because if all that missing clutch basket material is in the engine, it will cause excessive wear.

Sounds like an ex race bike . Buy a new bike - take everything off it ( including the speedo ) race the shit out of it - then put all the brand new factory stuff back on to sell . Probably destroyed a clutch or two while being raced , and unfortunately someone butchered one ( but even that likely wouldn’t have been discovered if not for the incorrect shim when they reassembled it ) .No mystery really - and certainly not cursed .

And how much do you wanna bet that customer is a customer FOR LIFE! and bring back 2-3 of his/her buddies to buy from this dealership. A 1,200 dollar investment in multiple bikes sold down the road.
