From Santa Monica Studio and creative director Cory Barlog comes a new beginning for one of gaming’s most recognizable icons. Just beat the game, and I wanted to come back to this epic trailer. This did not over hype me at all, my expectations were met and then exceed upon tenfold. One of my favorites of all time.

We see them cut off mimirs head, but dont know why or if he's alive. A lot of things in the trailer is just stuff that would make no sense unless youve played the game. Loved it!

I'm on my second play through. Put down nioh 2 to have a stroll through midgard again. I have not been disappointed... such a beautiful game. I really want to see where they go for the second installment...whenever that may be. I suppose it shouldn't take as long as they have the new engine built. It would just be sotoryboarding and mo cap etc. Designing the new realms. Maybe extending the existing ones. Makes me giddy thinking about it haha

If Kratos is so popular, it is not because of his wisdom. I can't believe they reduced the series to baby games level. People are so hype because of the the game's name and the history it has. They should have changed the name of the game and also the tattoo on Kratos and no one would even know it is a God of war game.
Want to continue a beloved serie? Please do not change the genre of the game. It freaking looks like a modded version of Uncharted. I just can't believe, a god of war's trailer, where kratos attacks just once.

2018 was a year for Sony and the playstation 4. Two big exclusives games were released:
1.God of war
2. Spiderman
These 2 games defined the greatness of the ps4 era. They were right when they were saying awaiting greatness. I fully enjoyed each and every second i had with these 2 games. 2018 was a happy year to be a ps4 gamer.

Indeed man, i got to play it in early 2019 😅, due to lacking playing time because of my work. Rdr2 was great too, but in terms of ps4 exclusives, 2018 was a great year and it was an emotional year for me as well. My father who expired in 2019 was watching me playing these games, even him being a 70 year old man was mesmerized with those graphics and scenes. These moments are unforgettable. Each time i replay these 2 games i think of him.

I thought long on hard about this. I considered Shadow of the Colossus, I considered the Last of Us, Final Fantasy 6, 7, 10, Zelda Ocarina and Wind Waker, etc, but I genuinely think that this game, this art form, maybe not only be the greatest game of all time, but one of the greatest stories every put together in any form.

You got to look at the depths of this. Kratos went from being a General, to a God, to a maniacal beast bent on rage, losing his family, his army, his peace of mind, his hope. The only thing that kept him alive was his burning desire for revenge. After a million bodies under his belt. After his taste for revenge has finally went away what does he have left. He left a path of destruction behind his wake. But that’s the past. Kratos now is more at peace, he has a son and you can say he’s trying to mend his past. As a warrior he know has wisdom. All he has left is his son. The apple doesn’t fall from the tree. Kratos is making sure that his son doesn’t follow his path of destruction. Can’t wait for this game to come out.
we already see that when he says killing a god has consequences and he talks about discipline he knows that his son Aetrius inherited his fathers and grandfathers temper but wants to make sure he can mitigate the flaw BEFORE he ends up causing the apocolypse rather then after unlike his younger self
We can see that because that’s his son. At the same time Kratos is going through a battle within himself. His memories of killing his family still haunts him let’s no forget that. He struggles in himself as a parent, at the same time training his son to become a great warrior but also disciplined. Like you said control his inner rage.

Man, I really hope we get a lot of new weapons aside from what has shown so far (Frost boomerang axe, fan shield, hunting bow). Maybe a hammer (Thor's Mjolnir) or a sword (Sigurd's Hrotti) or a spear (Odin's Gungnir) or a berserker's dual axes or gauntlets or a dual swords (fenrir's fangs) or valkrie wings or anything really. So many possibilities like greek mythology.

Its got Gameplay its got Graphics and its got a strong scripted Stroyline.....feeling like every evolution the video gaming has been through was for This game.....and for Kratos the return is dramatic.....Thank you Santa Monica for the job and giving back the character we grew up playing...
