- I built a recreation of Installation 00 from Halo as my first Minecraft Mega-Structure! Using over 15,000,000 blocks, this build is several thousand blocks in diameter and features most biomes in game all located on an artificial construction floating in the End Dimension.

There's a mod called Distant Horizons which effectively increases the render distance to infinity by decreasing the detail shown on blocks that are far away. If you use that mod, you should be able to get giant builds like this in one shot, which I think would be pretty cool

Level of details (lod), man if only vanilla Minecraft had it just like any other games, It would've been possible to run it on toaster or anything

it has quite bad compatibility with shaders and smooth lighting needs to be off to have a smooth transition. appart from that it's a great mod yeah.

Another fun fact about installation 00, the planet in the center is used as a resource world, meaning sentinels mine the planet down to its core for materials to use to build new ring installations, there is always a half constructed ring ready in case an active installation is destroyed. Notable times being the replacement ring seen in Halo 3 to replace Installation 04, destroyed in the first Halo game, and again seen in Halo Wars 2, a replacement ring for the replacement ring for installation 04
Instalation 04 is kinda bad luck I guess.
i think the mist you see around the planet is tge sentinels that are mining the planet

Carving up entire biomes to graft to the Ark is such a Forerunner way of doing it. Impressive build
The Ark from halo is probably one of my favorite mega structure designs and I am glad to see a pretty impressive recreation of it inside of minecraft.

This map has a lot of Hunger Games potential. Like, imagine. The big arms hold 100 randoms while the smaller arms hold 50 elite players/ RUclipsrs etc. And each arm will be a separate competition, and they all get filtered to the center for a mega fight.

Nah jk this is an amazing idea it's been so long since I've seen RUclipsrs play a hunger games map in Minecraft, I'd love to see it for nostalgia, imagine everyone who would join!
@@DaShoopdahoop Bruh, I literally loved the Hunger Games books and movies. They were really good books (I read them all in a barely over a month total, while it usually takes me a month to read a single book) and the movies were some of the most accurate adaptations I've ever seen.

@Leonard Spacek the actual ring's surface area is only about the size of Oklahoma, and the entire size of the Minecraft world is a lot bigger than planet earth, it would just take a very long time to actually build

As someone who grew up on Halo, this build is amazing. My childhood just "casually" built in an entirely different game is so cool to see

I don't get to see people give Halos architecture justice when rebuilding it In minecraft. So I was amazed to see this made to as best of scale as possible and it looks awesome
The curving of the terrain was really mesmerizing! Mind blowing project, amazing work!
In the mod: Litematica there is an autoplace function that if you point at a schematic block that you have in your inventory it will automatically take it out and place it. So for everyone building this in survival, that function will save a lot of carpal tunnel and 16 of the 17 million clicks
there hits a point in scale where it doesnt feel like minecraft anymore, i struggle to remember im even playing minecraft when working on my 4.5KM long spaceship project

8:54 for future reference glass pains actually make a better a good mist effect because since they’re not full blocks it makes it look less blocky
You could use the distant horizons mod for a huge render distance. The only problem is that it doesn't really work with shaders as it loads "fake chunks" and the lighting gets quite broken with smooth lighting turned on. You could also use the bobby mod for render distance instead (with sodium or some other mod for fps of course) and it also loads a huge amount of chunks, however not as many as distant horizons. Unfortunately, it did get pretty laggy when I tried it and the render distance is lower when not using optifine I believe so I would probably only recommend it for cinematics and not time lapses. Hope any of this helps lol.
Now we need a team of people like the “build the earth” team that gets a no-height-limit mod and start a “build the ARK” project where they make it 100% full scale. Would be so awesome.

@@redtalon8947 With a big team everything is possible. Look at "Build the Earth"; yes, it's going to take them a lot of years bcs its not just one city, it's the whole freaking earth built 1-to-1 scale, BUT THEY'RE DOING IT.
I don't think you'd be building at that point, you'd just program it and then have people manually edit wherever the game takes place.

It doesnt matter if you made it by hand, by commands, or even by programming, YOU made it yourself; you BUILT it.
How else do u think the people working on "Build the Earth" would have a life if they don't have a pre-made life-size minecraft world map of the earth as a canvas to just tweak the landscape and add buildings, roads, copy-paste trees etc?? Its taken long enough already using that method; IMAGINE IF THEY DID IT ALL BY HAND??? Like bruh.
@@TheBlueCreeper- ok, first, it ain't that intense. second, when i say you'd have to program it, that just means you aren't placing blocks. it is literally too big even with world edit. it would take you more time than you have in your life.
The people who actually build these types of structures IN SURVIVAL is absolute insanity I can't imagine the patience and dedication these people have

Mate, this is absolutely absurd. If I were to do this, I wouldn't have the tools you do/did, and I would have 6 carpal tunnels per wrist, and my game would be unplayable.

Both this and the other mega structure you made are aweinspiring. Watching the process you go through to make them is so fascinating as when I think about how I'd undertake something similar I don't think I'd even know where to begin or the methods to use, so it's really cool to see how you go about shaping and bending terrain and creating these massive structures.
Now if ur planning a hardcore series we need to see this mega structure in the world someday.

just a suggestion but i know there are mods that increase the build height so if you find the right one you could redo this but make it bigger, which would be really cool
For working out the curves in blocks can use a graphics algorithm which is used to work out the pixel placement. Cant remember what its called though

Also, you could’ve had the hexagonal/decagon shaped tiles seen in Infinite’s ark to fill the holes and sides of mountains.
