Thank you for giving an idea for quantities! TIP: I've used ball bearings in my bottles - I got mine from a "bottle cleaner" product that is simply ball bearings that you pour into a bottle when washing it (on Aliexpress, just search for "bottle cleaning balls"). Also, I've made alcohol inks with markers - I went through all of my dried-up markers a while back, took out their cartriges, and put all colours into separate jars; when I need more ink, I just pour in some rubbing alcohol (for those in the German-speaking area, that would be Brennsprit) and give it a shake. They work great, with vibrant colours!
I make mine almost the same as yours. I use liquid hairspray from the dollar store. And I use loose eyeshadow from the dollar store or mica powder. I also have some powdered cosmetic grade pigment (from when I made handmade soap) that works great for the colorant. I get my bottles from AliExpress and everything else is exactly as you do (snip tube at angle, beads at bottom, ink refills, shake from side to side instead of up/down, etc.). I mix a larger bottle for the white pearl because I use it a lot on colored cardstock to make it pearlescent and use the smaller bottles for the colored sprays. Wow, isopropyl alcohol is expensive in the UK. Maybe you can check your pound store for the alcohol at a lower price? Thanks for another great video!!! Janet 🤗💖👍
Love your ideas, the best I've seen for DIY Shimmer sprays! I wanted to make some but I didn't have any hairspray, so glad I can make some with glue. I have some eyeshadow powders that I purchased from Dollar Tree that I will use. Great idea about trimming the tube and adding glass beads! Thanks for your video!
Hi Amanda I made shimmer sprays many years ago I did use hairspray instead of glue but we can get a nice size for a dollar here they still work great other than the hairspray they're very much like yours the one I used the most is the one I made out of the vintage photo reinker with gold mica you might want to try that as much as you use the distress ink I love your purple color
I wouldn't use sharpies for that either. I have used very cheap highliters and cheap rubbing alcohol to make alcohol ink and put it in an old body spray bottle that had a little bit of spray in it and I poured it out and cleaned it. I use loose eyeshadow for the mica powder. I haven't added glue before or beads so definitely going to try that to keep the shimmer on the page.
Just found you and happy I did,you do beautiful work and teach so well. I am sharing you with my channel cause there are many of us that fight with mica powders.❤
This is awesome Amanda, especially as i have lots of mica powder left over from making wax melts, ill be on a mission now making sprays 🤣 do you think powder colour dye used for wax would be ok to use ? Also your tutorials always make me smile, your laugh is infectious 🥰♥️ xxx
Brilliant xx forgot to mention glass beads 🙄 x. It’s all trial and error x I didn’t use glue in mine but perfect pearls powder have a binder in them anyway so that’s likely why I haven’t had any issues with them coming off x it’s addictive xx I buy the small pen style sprayers like SU ones as they are cheaper and easier storage and make lots of colours xx happy shimmer colouring ❤️❤️

Not sure about the wax melt dye as never used it. If it is a fine powder it should work just not sure if it would block the pray nozzle x
Glass beads 🤯 🤦🏻♀️ Amanda, you have actually solved my problem! 😍 Thank you! 💕
You are welcome thanks for watching xx
The glass beads are a great idea. In stead of tacky glue i use some drops of gum arabic.
Thanks for watching .. I use glue as it’s a common staple folk will have in their craft room xx
@@Scrimpingmommy i understand.
Love your laugh!
Thank you Jean and thanks for watching x

Hi do you know roughly the size of the glass beads plz?
So long as they fit in the bottle neck and aren’t too small to go up the pipe that is on the nozzle x
Very informative thank you,
