It's actually working😊, but the drawback is that even a slight movement of the film can ruin the print. I personally find it more challenging compared to just opening the printer and removing the roller. Although it can be a bit intimidating for someone like me who isn't tech-savvy, there's no need to worry about any springs popping out or anything tricky. Just make sure to remember where all the screws go. In my case, I left one roller on both sides and cut them so I could feed a 4-inch long film.

Sublimation printers are just regular printers that print with sublimation ink. Sublimation paper absorbs sublimation ink and there is no smudging. So you will still need to carry out the mechanical conversion.

Acrorip. If you are not going to use your printer for more than a week you will enter a dangerous territory where you may end up permanently clogging your printhead. Long term storage will require a complete flush and lubrication.

@@jjsmsalas1 Photoshop won't work. It's not as simple as just printing a design out. You need to apply a white layer on top of your colour, choke the white etc. Rip software such as acrorip tricks your printer into doing something it does not do by default. This printer came from Epson. We are one of the biggest DTF suppliers in the UK.
Glad I could help. You need rip software. It often comes with a physical USB key that is used to run it so you can't just download it in most cases. Not with acrorip anyway.
Am printing on a l1300 Epson printer, but only CMYK n no white, I take the printed sheet for white backing through screen, turnd out to be cheaper by allmost 50% then the l1800 cmykww inks, yes little tedious job but u save a lot,

Hello. Thank you for your interest and sorry for a late reply. Acrorip 9 is cheaper than acrorip 10. You only need acrorip 10 for xp-15000. Older printers such as L1800, P400, P600 etc. work with acrorip 9.
Hi, just set one of these up and no matter what I do the printer wont print colors, even in the windows device and printers advanced preferences, test prints. How can I fix this ?? I have tried changing the ink channels and have definitely got it set to print color in the print settings in the RIP software but nothing but black and white comes out??
Ive just bought the L1800, could only find it as a sublimation bundle. Will convert to dtf and have put an order in for consumables on your website. Can you recommend a vendor for replacement printheads?m for £60 you mention Would like to be prepared for when print head fails.
The vendor that we used in the past is all out of stock due to DTF popularity so I can't really recommend anyone from first hand experience. I guess any vendor with good reviews is your best bet.

Is it very glossy on the other side? Some DTF film is just bad and causes constant problems. Try looking up printers not taking transparencies as those are a lot more popular and it's a common problem. Maybe you'll find a good solution. I know some people rub the rubber paper rollers with alcohol. Can't help you much here bud.

I filled up the inks, put the cushion back on and vacuumed off the rest and also cleaned the print head. Unfortunately the printer doesn't work. So this ink wont be dry ones is out the printer ? For that you dont have to do any conversion right? I always thought the printers has some kind of systems to dry the ink when the paper exit.
Desktop inkjet printers don't dry the ink. It's the paper that absorbs the ink. This is why when you buy cheap thin printer paper and try and print out a photo, it often comes out wet. In our case we want it to come out wet.
We don't clean the printhead manually until it needs cleaning. Which is almost never. But we do run automatic cleaning every morning before printing or every 3 days when not printing.
You always need rip software but you don't need a resetter or firmware for an L1800. This printer is very outdated now however. There are better alternatives.

p400, p600, p800 will print faster. dx5 head printers. Even older r2400 type of printers will print faster. I'll need to do a whole other video for maintenance. But you can start by shaking white ink and printing frequently.

It's recommended to empty the ink and wash/flush everything with at least distilled water. Printhead, tanks, lines, dampers. Mixing different ink types is not a good idea.

Dedicated DTF printers are just professionally converted Epson printers. The print quality depends on the Epson print head. If you convert an L1800 it will have an exact same print quality as a professional DTF printer with an L1800 print head.

Compared to what? Professional DTG is still better than DTF, but you need at least $15k worth of equipment to do it properly, and it's hard to make that much money back. Compared to other DTF printers, L1800 is one of the slowest. DTF is not a perfect method and L1800 is not a perfect printer. I recommend a $620,000 Kornit Atlas DTG machine over DTF any day.

It was just some plastic straw type of thing I found that fit perfectly into both tubes.

Some cheap film is just bad. But you can fix it by taping some masking tape on the bottom right corner of the film. I might make a video about this.

You use the original printhead for everything. Regular ink, sublimation, DTG, DTF, UV etc.
don't u need RIP Software, Resetter/Chipless Firmware
You always need rip software but you don't need a resetter or firmware for an L1800. This printer is very outdated now however. There are better alternatives.
