  • My very first video.I never felt the need to make one until now and If you are like me and wasted over an hour watching long-drawn-out videos, videos which didn't help at all and just proved to be a waste of time I guarantee this is the best, fastest and easiest way to take off the dreaded top Bolt.
If you appreciate it this give it a thumbs up so other people don't waste their time watching those crap videos also

Even with your excellent advice it still took me a total of 7 hrs. to complete, and yes that top hidden bolt was 6 of those hrs. At my age of 63 i recommend at least take the passenger front wheel of , it's easier to climb out from under the truck at least. Thank you faceless guy much valued information

This is genius. I didn't end up having to take the solenoid off, and the mirror didn't help me, but the idea of using a combination of extensions and sockets and comparing their length to the new starter is a much simpler idea than the other videos on RUclips. I just had to fumble around until I found the top bolt, and then halfway through unthreading it, switched out for a slightly shorter combination of extensions and socket. I also had to put my truck up on a jack stand because it's stock height. Removing the front passenger wheel also just gave me more room to slide around on the floor.

Thanks for the tips. It still took us about 3 hours, but the small extension was the key. I also taped the extension to the top with the top bolt in place when putting in the new one. That seemed to help get the bolt started.

Cant wait. Must be easier than pulling a transmission out with crowbars and rope. On pick and pulls 3/4" crushed aggregate base as padding

So, you took the new solenoid off the starter before you replaced the new one?

The 08-10 f150 started is harder to change than a 94-04 mustang with the 4.6 and long tubes.

@@jaykins2631 I ended up getting it with the help of my brother in law he and I used long extensions with 2 swivels and I laid under the truck holding the socket on the bolt while he stood outside the passenger wheel and broke it loose

Why didn't you record when you were doing it? Everything is after the fact. Useless.
